Asian Peanut Pancake Turnover (Apam Balik)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 січ 2018
- Apam balik, Malaysian style. Crispy and fluffy pancake filled with roasted peanuts, sugar, creamy sweet corn, some butter and then folded into half. A true Malaysian nostalgic dish that can be eaten both for breakfast or tea.
NOTE: A mistype in the ingredients for the batter, sorry! It's supposed to be:
2 tbsp granulated sugar (25 gr), not 1/4 cup

I remember as a kid i loved this but then they put condensed milk as well. Yummm
Apart from Apam Balik, it is also called Apam Pulau Pinang by the Singaporean Malays.
Hi! Can I just use all purpose flour? Do not have self raising flour at this.
Can I keep the batter for later use if I can’t finish it all at one shot?🙏🙏🙏
Wow! So delicious,! Sweetcorn holds the peanut together, less mess! Thumbs up!
Hi! It's been a while, Happy New Year! You're right, sweetcorn is the glue. The more, the better 😀. Thanks for commenting and watching the video 😍!
El Mundo Eats Happy New Year to you too! Time flies! Yes, I'll definitely tune in for more great recipes! Wishing you lots of health, happiness and success!
Thank you and same goes to you 😍!
Alguém poderia traduzir esta receita para o português? Parece deliciosa! Grata
It must be cook at a very low heat issit? I dunno why but i nvr get a smooth base as yours after cooking but the flavour is awesome!
No, not very low heat. Use low medium heat like it says in the video. Usually the first one will be wonky but the rest will be good. Using on stick pan helps. Hope it helps, happy to know you liked it. Thanks!
I ran out of canned creamed corn. Do you happen to have a recipe for that too? TQ!
Simple resepi. ...marvelles
Thanks! Have you ever had Apam balik? 😋

Malaysia : Apam Balik
Indonesia : Martabak manis
Can i just use self/raising flour? How much to use
Looks good man. This recipe is better than the Catherine Kua version where the batter needs to be prepared 2 times and mixed together after that. Inconvenient.
Sedapnya
Thank you so much for your recepie. It looks soo yummy. Can I get the same result if I don't add egg to this recepie. Kindly revert. Thank you so much once again.
Hi Kaveettah! Honestly I haven't tried it without using egg. In this recipe the egg contributes to the structure, leavening and the height of the pancakes. I'm sorry! Hope this helps. - Bea 🙂
What is self raising flour
