We have to be glad they didn't slap the Charger name on some SUV crossover thing! As for the battery-powered version, be glad it doesn't perform like the crappy V8s from the mid/late 1970s and early 80s.
I might want the Banshee version of the Charger...if it ever gets released, and if the power/weight ratio is acceptable. A turbocharged V6 is much more driveable than a turbocharged V8 and itis more powerful than an NA V8, so I wouldn't panic. Oh, and I did but an S650 for the MT and V8. What other choice did I have? I wonder if people lamented the end of crank start cars the way people grieve MT dying out?
While the EV Charger sales will be shadowy, the V6 version won't sell very well either. The fact of the matter is people want the new Charger powered by a V8!
I am looking forward to the Scat Peck wich is gas powered, new technolony, good design and hopefully a good sound, but it won't match the rumble and the emotion of a Hemi V8
I won't belive ANYTHING Stellantis says until they actually get ANY of this cars on the market.
I think they did a great job with both of these Chargers! There's no doubt it's a modern take on the 60's versions, with a touch from the previous design.
The current two EV options seem underwhelming, because the car weighs as much as our Audi e-tron SUV - 5,800 pounds...which is just ridiculous. An electric Dodge Charger shouldn't get smoked by a shitty Tesla Model 3.
Kind of like visiting an old aunt who is on her deathbed with a tube in her nose and a barely perceptible pulse on the TV screen who suddenly stops coughing up blood and starts talking about what fantastic plans she has for next summer
They’ll both be overpriced and unreliable
the 2025 ev and ice dodge charger looks ok but i have seen some chinese auto show videos and those designs look beautiful. the avatar 12 or the xpeng p7 and p7 plus or the lynk&co z10 would be a good style for a new chrysler 300 or a new caddy or new charger. the byd boweak suv or leopard 5 suv would make a great style for a jeep or dodge. these chinese designs look way better than all the us auto brands interior and exterior.
Car's fugly. It was originally designed as an EV, and thus, it looks like a withering weeping bar of soap dropped on the floor in a prison shower.
Someone should buy 2 challengers and turn the motors into a v12
Can’t regulate demand, nobody wants EV’s and it’s so boring and annoying to live in these plastic straw end of times vibes where everything is a compromised piece of dog doo doo.
I don't know about boring. I have V8 convertible and an EV hatchback. The EV is really fun to toss around town, the V8 sounds great. I don't understand the either or mentality. It's like people arguing over which Thanksgiving sides are better. Why not all of them?
@@omniphoriusvcf907
Not everyone can afford to have two cars.
@@omniphoriusvcf907 I actually agree with you, I'd much rather the marketplace allow for innovation and choice and variety, but regulations are essentially going to mandate away internal combustion engines, which is what I don't like. Some of that is being reversed now in favor of a hybrid future over pure electric, due to lack of demand for EV's.
, you have a choice; nobody forces you to buy an EV.
Nobody wants Eva but the model y is the best selling car in the world?
I'll stick to my 2023 wb hellcat charger jailbreak. It looks better and sounds better.
I have a mustang and I’m interested in the new 6 cylinder Charger
Charger Fake air outlets in the trunk are funny….what? Trunk need air too?
They bent the knee to the mob lol
My selling you a 550hp turbo car?
Dodge makes a better looking car despite what engine they put in it. We want V8 roar, not a damn speaker with sound of a fake
engine. Ford has lost its way, the mustang looks nothing like a muscle car. And Chevy shit the bed with the camaro. All auto makers
have lost their damn minds. Looking at you JAGUAR!
Ohhh this is gonna SIT on dealer lots
Can’t wait for people to swap hellcats in these
They should atleast slap on a small TT 4.0 V8 :/
It's missing two cylinders
I actually like the fact they did both, and let’s be real, Charger owners buy the V6 models in bulk. The EV is clearly what was planned from the beginning but those fleet sales will make up the difference and allow everyone to get something they prefer.
Also, I can’t believe I’m saying this.. but the EV seems so much more interesting to me. It looks cleaner and it probably will perform better too.
someone will hemi swap the gas version
I have a 2016 challenger was going to upgrade but these are a serious eye sore. Most likely going to ford 🙄
i’m getting a mustang in two years simply because of the v8 case closed
This car will sell big time love it !
They should rework the Hurricane into a 3.0 V8 and call it the STFU edition...
Did Dodge want to make Dodge Charger with Ford Barra(or Toyota 2JZ, Nissan RB26... you name it) I6 engine feelalike instead of V8? Hmmm...
Just watch this ain’t going to sell
Id take the EV, for the fact that its faster, it kind of sounds like a V8, and I think it looks better. I also think that if I get a V6 Daytona, a 5.0 V8 Mustang is the same price sooo... Bottom line, get a Mustang.
They already said the are going to put a V8 in it
The Daytona looks so much like the original charger. It's a great design. Better performance and better safety than the gas version. Looks are all that matter really. It's still a muscle car
no v8 , no business from me, last 20 years all Mopar , not any longer
There bringing back the slant six
I believe the ev will out perform the gas powered twin
A cool thing they could do because the combustion engine is a six cylinder six cylinders are small. They could do it like put it in the back so it’s like a mix between like supercar and muscle car like that’ll be a cool idea and before y’all get me the replies, this is only my own decision if you have any regrets I’m not against it and I just think it’s a good idea and the design is good for it too because the back is like the new Aldi so I mean it has some room for like a back engine or something. It’s not like flat and stuff please like this comment if you think that’s a good idea😊😊😊
This is supposed to be a Dodge charger? Honestly they both look more like the trans version of what used to be a charger.
I own a 392 ta challenger manual and I actually am tempted by the ev.
Me too, every thing about it looks pretty cool so far
Lol
Oh no! Slower EV adoption and incentives!? What a trajedy. Surely that is not what the population wants...
The global market is moving forward with Evs and new technology, while Americans are moving backward.
There isnt such a thing as an EV muscle car. There isnt even such a thing as an I6 muscle car.
Muscle cars needs 2 things, a V8 and the looks, this Charger has neither
I'd give the EV a chance. There's no doubt it will be fast. All Stellantis has to do is make it handle well and it'll be an engaging drive. I'm sure they'll screw that up somehow, but I don't need noise to enjoy a car.
You wont even have a choice in a couple years... The choice is made for you by the people on top
It's 5,800lbs. No it will not handle well.
@@poly_g6068 Yikes, that's a heavy car. Probably not my cup of tea unless they pull some magic with the tires and suspension. Then again, the Charger Hellcat was a heavy beast at 4600 pounds. That's almost twice what a ND Miata weighs, but I don't think I'll find many muscle car enthusiasts making a case that the Miata is the better muscle car.
