#offroad #overland #camping We departed Hill End Lodge, then had a quick look at the Valentine Gold Mine on the outskirts of the goldrush town of Hill End. Then we drove the Dixons Long Point 4WD track from Hill End to Orange via the Long Point crossing of the Macquarie River. A great track with four wheel driving, gold mining history and wonderful Aussie scenery. We also encountered kangaroos, goats and other wildlife along the way. As soon as I saw the river crossing I wondered "Are you meant to drive on the high or low road across the river?". So the low is the official road?

Thanks Brett, yes where the actual causeway is, to the right of where I was, it’s very shallow and no problem if the rivers low. Nice spot too..👍🏻
