The reason there were huge depressions in the test holes is because of all the gold they took out. They didn't show us all the gold because it would start a stampede on thier chain and no miner ever wants that to happen on thier claim...

That was a huge learning experience, finding old channel, and that kind of pay at only 2 to 4 feet down, hundreds of feet from the current river! It completely changes the perspective on where and what to look for! Great job Andy, especially the reclamation, it's like we were never there!

Old timers were mining ancient river beds and placer mining the main deposits of gold since the first gold rush, you are not discovering any new methods of mining.
However you are out there putting in work and doing a good job, I wish you guys the best of luck!

.......... yea. but if you want to get to the gold.. ALL those trees will be GONE. All this is doing is sinking test pits. The real claim is cleared of all trees etc.

Thank you for reminding everyone about reclamation!!! It's so important and we didn't have much of an issue with it until tourists started moving here instead of vacation only. We ALL need to be responsible for keeping the beauty and FUNCTION. Nature has the creatures to care for after you left the area. That pit would be a literal trap for wildlife.

A friend of mine told me a few months ago he was hiking around here on Van Isle and came across what looked like a grave. He said it weirded him out a bit, after this video it makes more sense, probably a prospector that didn't fill his hole!

Wow, Andy you gave me the gold fever again especially with the tool box high banker conversion. I have a 4' sluice box and been looking at options to converting to a high banker.

I like it when I see people out in the dirt digging by hand along with everyone else. No heavy machinery or equipment. Love that DIY highbanker. Low tech for huge gold. Got me thinking a lot now too. I get one or two flakes of flour gold per pan here on my land, and pretty much everywhere up here. I have to do some math and figure its value.
