Had 2002 suzuki wagon R+ as my first car back in 2016. Still to this day, I miss it, and I drive a much higher spec car now. I absolutely adored it. It was surprisingly perky and nice to drive. I love the style of these. The fact there are so many still on the UK road today over 20 years old and running perfectly, speaks volumes on how great these are. The only issue I have is safety levels in comparison to more up to date cars. But I never had any issues whilst driving 3 years in mine. Perhaps a little loss of traction on roundabouts, but I did have cheaper Chinese tyres on her, so probably that. It turned into a small van basically with the seats down flat 😊.
For what they are they run well and give you economy, perfect little car for cities and towns. Some people don't understand what these cars are about. I use mine for work and shopping, I'm not traveling up and down the motorway in mine it's a tool and nothing more.
I've just bought a Suzuki version of this, same fab blue colour too. Like yours, I think I've got a few jobs to do to get it up to scratch, but I've very impressed with the bodywork for a 22-year old car, and most things seem to still work. Unbelievable amount of space on the inside considering the external dimensions, the boot space was the biggest surprise. Excellent review 👍🏻
I agree with everything you say. I have a 2005 model and I love it. I use it for local trips whereas I also have a new Hyundai Tucson for anything longer (the basic Avila is more fun to drive without the multitude of warning lights the Hyundai has !).
I have one of these. Mine is 2007 it has no electric windows and no central locking. My partner laughed when I brought it home I said you can laugh but I’ll have the last laugh when the bills come in for the car (insurance, tax ect). Mine is the 1.0 ltr it’s just your basic car all I need. Cheap and cheerful.
I've just bought one as cheap project, same interior as yours. Mine is 2004 in Silver and needs a clutch. :-) You missed out how roomy they are for such a small car.
Great sensible choice. The unique purpose of owning a car is to travel from A to B. Now for those superficial prestige-conscious creatures leaving negative comments, please get a life.
I'm still very much into modified cars but as people who have actually modified a car may know, modified cars aren't always guaranteed to get you to work every day. They aren't always reliable and they are often more expensive to run. This is my daily driver with a focus of saving money and making my day to day life a lot easier. Because of this I have a lot more money to put towards my project 👍
A great car! Practical, very reliable, and for me very pleasant in styling. I have 3 of these, with 1.0 litre. Amazing. The only things I noticed that with regular oil changes keep the timing chain quiet (if has a diesel sound it has to be replaced). Great great car.
I think it's pretty smart... I've always liked lil cars, unfortunately here in the u.s. cars just keep getting bigger...I hope my fiesta st lasts forever

This is the sort of car i would look twice at if i see it on the roads, im looking for interesting cheap cars like this, not the typical car.

Love mine ..can get 3 car seats in the back of it...the same 3 car seats I fit into my Volvo XC90...the thing is a TARDIS. Love it

People laugh at my Vauxhall Agila but who cares. It's a reliable and cheap to run car. It fulfils all purposes of owning a mean of transportation.
Aka Suzuki wagon r or suitcase :)
Please I've falling in love with this car. Will 175/70 R14 tyre fit perfectly with this car? Thank you
