I was crying from the point where you got the revelation that there wasn't anything you could act to save yourself, but there were other things you could save... damn that gets me so much, as well when your soul refuses to split apart soooo much strong emotion packed into a boss fight
another reason why I love the girls they also just like us have many things in common with us, and that is why we feels close to them. they also have experience some kind of pain and even thought they wont say it publicly we know it from the way the accidentally talk or play certain games like this one

I have no idea WHY, maybe just the reminder that the game remembers all these little things that made the journey feel personal while being so unapologetically sentimental.
I was ruined from that point on, but then "His Theme" started with the flashback, the drums joined in as Asriel's attack was the same Toriel-style waterfall that avoids damaging you because he's lost the desire to hurt you... It all hit just as hard while I was already sobbing quietly in my chair...
I dunno why I forgot but Asriel has been through so much stuff and he's just a kid. Not only did he experience a cruel death, when he was brought back to life he called out to his parents for help but "nobody came".
Not only that but as flowey he went trough an emotional breakdown which led him to not feel emotions and eventually madness because of reset. In the game he said he tried to suicide but his determination didn't let him die, which adds even more salt to the wound

@@CBRN-115 agreed! we usually get the emotionally strong Kanata but when she shows her more vulnerable side, i think it becomes something precious and genuine, especially everything she's dealt with. looking back at it, it kinda reminds me of Hachiman from Love Comedy SNAFU: he always show a side that is strong albeit self depreciative and loathing despite all he says, and is always giving, however begrudgingly it is; but the moment where he let's his heart out and admits to wanting something genuine to the two people who trusts the most, it hits hard. I think this moment with Kanata had the same sort've energy

I always liked the painful truth that Asriel represents. The painful lesson every hero must learn. It doesn't matter how strong you are, or what you do. You can't save everyone, the world is too big.
Kanata is a lot like Frisk. A being with incredible power that only wants to mentally support others.
Kanata definitely had the strongest emotions in the P-route so far. Rushia probably had the strongest emotions in the N-route, because of the way she played it.
That "You dirty brother killer" scene hit different when Rushia play it ... pien ... :' (

Undertale is one of the few games that can elicit such a strong emotional response. It goes to show that it doesn't have to be all about graphics, the story and how it is presented is just as essential.

I have seen countless playthroughs of this game. From Jacksepticeye to Markiplier to Pewdiepie, and so on so forth. I have seen countless AUs of this universe, so much that I took a break from Undertale for about 3 years, just because I had become so numb and bored. Yet, when the Hololive V-tubers came along and played Undertale. I got to experience the joys of Undertale again. I had thought that it would be impossible to feel what I had felt before when watching Jack play this, and yet I cried again when Kanata saved Asriel. These V-Tubers have truly given me a fresh POV and have allowed me to feel these feelings again.

Yeah, everyone has that realization at the end that the monsters never call Frisk by the name the player chooses. It's always Human, or Child.
Also, maybe it's your translations, or just how Japan translated the game, but now I'm interested in these small changes. Like at the end you put him and her, but in the original, Toby Fox made Frisk ambiguous and the monsters never refer to Frisk as a boy or a girl.
It's the translation. The Japanese makes no mention of gender and Japanese rarely uses gendered pronouns to begin with, often times the subject is left out of sentences entirely and left to context. Any time they refer to Frisk it's either directly (like Asgore's "At least Frisk is alright") or they leave the subject out of the sentence (like Toriel's "Ah, good. Looks like (they) are waking up" since direct translation she just says "Ah, good. Woken up looks like.").
Yup, i think in japanese they always called chara with 'ningen' or 'kozou'
Toby made her ambiguous for the audience to put there own idea of what frisk is into her. I have always seen her as a girl, so the translation works out for me! ^^

In P and N Route you Chara is pretty much have good personality there theory that Chara is the narrator so uf you go P routes narrator tone will describe every event cheerfully and sometimes goofy but if you choose G route the narrator narrates everything with kind of sinister narration.
I will always cry at this part of the game, he's had enough already...

@@fishoreo yes, I think the videos got deleted with the copyright issue some months ago. Subaru did neutral/pacifist, pacifist, genocide and deltarune.
@@fishoreo and there are not clips because her gameplays went unnoticed. I saw a comment on a clip of Subaru, the one about non-japanese suscribers were 2%. Someone commented that she may be more popular if she played more, I commented about her undertale gameplays and them being unnoticed. In fact someone replied to me that them (he and other translators) would work on that. Several weeks later the highlights of her Genocide route was uploaded but I'm not sure if they were the same.
I know towa also played undertale but she deleted her gameplays so I have no idea if she also got to the P route.
To be honest, I didn't play undertale ever since, but every gameplay I watched in UA-cam, especially the last scene between frisk and asriel made my eyes shed tears. The music makes the game more emotional.

Man what a rollercoaster of emotions
When Frisk hugs Asriel it feels like the passive main character has become human, finally, due to the player's actions and earlier decisions.
Everyone are Frisk's allies. They have no enemies. That way, they could reach the emotions of a psychopath.
Even 5 years later, I still see people playing and reacting to this game and even 5 years later, I still can't help but tear up a little when I see this ending. The lines, the music, and even the reaction really got me.
This really does put a smile on my face, seeing Kanata get the good ending and feeling such compassion for the characters. Truly a Tenshi!
i will always say undertale wont be a game of gameplay or graphics, but of heart after doing any run, you know you love this characters and it hurt so fcking bad doing genocide.

Man, I've already played this game I know what happens and I still cry at this part.
This game was an absolute masterpiece of writing. End stop.
I remember reaching this point in the game.... I had been skeptical at the beginning but fell in love with the aesthetic, dialogue, and characters.... And the Asriel fight had me in tears the whole way through.... Toby can really make you feel for these characters.... and the amazing soundtrack is just the cherry on an amazing game.
