Sans’ Status in Undertale : - Hardest Boss Fight - One of the few who knew about RESET - Hardest First Attack - Saddest Death - Favorable Character - The only monster with 1 Attack & 1 Defense
Jokes of Flare's genocidal and mass destructive tendencies aside, dropping $500 on merch whilst running through the game several times over for fun shows how badly she fell in love with this game. Everyone watching this fell into the VTuber rabbit hole, it's always fun to watch them fall into a different one.
While all of them seemed a least a little saddened by Sans death, Subaru hit me the hardest. She doesn’t even really seem to be convinced that Sans is dying until he actually dies. Then she genuinly sounds like she’s crying, even if her avatar looks happy...
Super fascinating, to me at least, that Japanese gamers in general have really taken to Undertale. Interesting because Toby Fox designed it as a tribute of sorts to the old Mother/Earthbound games from Japan. I just find it neat how the games come full circle, and how media builds off the previous generation.
I love how, after going through the trouble of killing Sans and thinking everything's over, this game just decides to kick you under the ribs with that Papyrus comment.
Ah im 5months late. Flare? But for me, it was Subaru that so deep. I watch her stream back then. she's more determined in the term of nonstop stream the sans battle. And she crying to the end
After pressing that last attack input everyone was expecting the suffering to end just to be stabbed in the guts. They all grew to love the characters so much and seeing Sans die in such a way is way too hard to take lightly.
I've got to bring attention to the fact you had to edit in the english game dialogue on top of doing subtitles. That's dedication and attention to detail right there
God Shuba's section hits hard. She sounded like a kid watching an anime hero they idolize fighting to protect those he cares about and was excited that he avoided her cheaty sneak attack until he got struck for real. She even seemed like she genuinely thought he was surviving and didn't seem to understand the weight of what she did until the death audio played and her level went up. Big hugs for Shuba
I love that throughout the whole game Sans is this lovable dunkle that we all grow attached to, but in the G-route we start to get angry at him for his “unfair” fight. The player falls right in line with Frisk/Chara’s script, and gets lost in their determination to beat him. But once we do we realize our mistake, we just killed the best friend we ever had. He was with us every step of the way, and we repaid him with a slash through the ribs…
I do think it's really interesting how everyone wants to kill sans, until they do. Then they regret ever wanting that, but keep moving forward. Then chara really hits you with the "no one made you do anything. Your the one who did this and now you have to take responsibility" you know this was good when undertale first came out and people tried to push the blame to chara, who is meant to be the player.
It’s interesting, isn’t it? That we can become so attached to a fictional character, to the point of crying when seeing them die, and yet, despite that, it still doesn’t stop us from starting and finishing a Route like this, truly fascinating.
When I was first played this game, I was careless but the more I play it the more I understand that, I'm not just playing a game, I'm playing with their feelings, emotions, and their future. And that's both sad and amazing.
