I like the aesthetic of the classic flap, and the re-issue is my favourite, but it's just not a bag that I'd reach for. If I was hoping to go for anything, it'd be something like your 19 in the denim as it's casual enough for my style and my lifestyle - not sure about the prices though...
I am like you I only have a couple of flaps, but several friends bought boy bags and have said they are very, very heavy. In addition the opening flap of leather is stunning, but an extremely heavy piece of leather as well. My understanding is they are not keeping their value, which is why some preowned in excellent condition or half the price of that new one you showed so I would get a preowned and I think some point I might or even just a preowned boy bag WOC…❤
Love that burgundy boy bag and I have a boy bag (no handle) in a blue and I love it! I love all my Chanel bags and so far no issues with them. I hope I don’t have any issues in the future. Glad I got them a few years ago when they were a bit less expensive, but I do still shop Chanel bags. It just has to be something I love. And no classic flaps recently. It would have to be a show stopper to spend CF money.
I was just in Barcelona and the go14 was the only LV bag that wasnt cheaper. Of course with the VAT it would be cheaper but face value it was the same. In USA the go 14 is 6750 plus tax.
Hi ! I love vintage Chanel handbags ( I have a few from the late 80's and the early 90's : classip flaps as well as 2 models called Lady Di from 1992) . I bought them some 15 yrs ago when no one was looking at "the designer vintage " . For each of my Lady Di models I had to pay about 900 € . Have you ever considered buying a vintage classic flap ? I mean it is almost a rule : if you love Chanel handbags you need to own at least one vintage classic flap. Believe me their quality ( leather + hardware ) and " sewing" perfection are just stunning .
Vintage classic flaps right now at least in Japan and other parts of Asia costs $10,000-$12,000 which is INSANE. I would rather just get a brand new at that point.
We are so alike! I dislike heart shapes, butterfly shapes, bow shapes, and so forth. I think we are both drawn to Rich collars, but I’m a sucker for Caramel or light brown or dark beige.😂
I've been researching on Vintage/Pre-loved Chanel for 6 months now, and I've been planning a trip to Tokyo just for vintage shopping HOWEVER, prices have gone up that vintage now costs pretty much the same as brand new. Vintage classic flaps right now at least in Japan and other parts of Asia costs $10,000-$12,000 which is INSANE. Minis go for $6,000 which is literally the same as brand new. I would rather just get a brand new at that point. Yes, people say vintage has better quality but I can't wrap my head around buying old when it's the same price as the new. So now, it seems like I'm leaning towards buying brand new at Chanel, and hunting for a Black 1990s Lady Dior in Japan and some key Louis Vuitton finds instead. Because those are still better deals. But for Chanel, I might as well just do brand new at this point. I do love the boutique experience, and I would rather get my Chanel records updated because at least if they see my spending history, I can get some lovely gifts w/ purchase at Chanel Beauty.
My favorite of the handbags you highlighted is the tote bag with the little Classic Flag charm (?). That is stinking adorable, Deb. If I had a boatload of money, I’d get it because it’s two pieces (girl math as Cassie Thorpe would say). The burgundy color of your favorites is so pretty. My mother’s favorite colors were navy blue and burgundy or the brownish ox blood which makes them fond colors for me, too. Thanks for sharing.
I was recently in Chanel in two different cities and there are some super cute little bags. A lavender mini with a pearly chain handle. A cute Kelly green backpack although not for me. A beautiful medium grey small CF (although of course the Cats are exorbitantly priced so I’d have to be absolutely in love with the color to spend it). I don’t like any cutie shaped bags at all either.
You look very elegant and beautiful in an off the shoulder top!! I can’t tell if you lost weight or the top is WORKING but it looks fabulous either way!!!❤
My SA showed me the little black bag with the handle. To me it’s like a clutch where nothing fits really but it’s cute. 😂 It’s just not for me. And I have to go check the burgundy bags in store, I just love the shade, I don’t know how it’s gonna be in person. The tote is amazing if you ask me but I’m like you and have no need for it. Actually I have no business buying more bags but what can I do, I just love them! Ha ha ha
there is a red classic mini in a grained calfskin coming out. the burgundy this season is suppose to be gorgeous. prefall is a warm burgundy and fall is a plum burgundy.
IMO, the clutch is f×gly, and as you have highlighted, impractical. It does not even look like a "real" clutch, but more like one of those flat plastic bags (but in leather)
The design of these bags makes me question this brand all over again. I am horrified but not by the price!😂 These all look so confused with extra added bits randomly stitched on - the handle on the classic boy bag to me looks ridiculous! I have a Chanel collection if it were worth anything I would sell it all - the brand has lost it for me and I would be embarrassed to wear it now. The only Chanel I can wear without cringing at myself is my old black 255. I think it’s really sad as it was a brand I adored back when caviar was caviar. I love burgundy and that tote is nice but the caviar is no longer the indestructible caviar we all loved…. Sigh….
Most of Chanel’s bags don’t appeal to me because they all have a very pretty and dressy aesthetic to them. It’s the same strap on virtually every bag they make and I know it’s their signature but it’s tiring to see chain straps on everything. Adding a chunkier chain or more chains in differing shades of metal makes it an ‘edgy’ bag - but for Chanel still - it’s all too pretty and yes, twee. The denim 22 caught my eye and I would love a tweed classic flap and a 2.55 but I no longer look for the right tweed for me because I’m not prepared to spend that sort of money on a bag. I much prefer to see the exotics from LV or Celine for the price of Chanel.
That burgundy Boy bag is gorgeous, but the price is really outrageous. I will never buy from Chanel again, my caramel Chanel 19 that I paid 6100€ has severely cracked leather and is pilling on the back after minimal wear. Chanel is of course refusing to take it back or repair it because they say it is my fault. I really baby my bags and I have much more sensitive leather bags that are in prime condition after much more wears. Just don't buy from Chanel, their greed and customer treatment are the worst.
I concur. Quality has gone down, price has gone up, it’s been the same for many years now but a lot of people still buy chanel mostly for its logo, I guess it’s unlikely that LVMH will try to improve quality and customer service any time soon… Profit is the most important thing to them after all.
Love the Burgundy boy bag😍😍😍
Beautiful colour x

It may be one sale soon if you fancy it!
😂
I love that burgundy boy bag especially with that top handle ❤
I am like you I only have a couple of flaps, but several friends bought boy bags and have said they are very, very heavy. @@stephaniekeyes2928 I got mine preloved in new condition for less than half this price, I have the old medium and I don’t think it’s heavy
Stunning colour x
Yes!!! So gorgeous!
Agree on the silver bow. Looks like early 2000s forever 21 - yes twee!
😂

I sold my boy bag and I regret it soooo much! I also sold my Jumbo and I regret that too. No more selling Chanel for me!
You look stunning Deb. Loving the longer hair too 💪🏿🔥
Thanks so much

I like the boy bag the most 😊

I’m not sure I’m keen on the vintage look x
I have to say that the Boy bag is stunning 😍

The black clutch is really beautiful 😍

That burgundy looks like it has a lot of plum undertones to me.

The boy handbag in that burgundy with gold... I think it's so beautiful but wow how expensive!
It really is!

I really want to see the burgundy in person x
More info: in the US, the black 11.12 is $10,800 and a burgundy one is $11,500!! the other ones in ombré are still price must be requested!
Thank you so much for the information x

Chanel just isn’t worth the money. I want that burgundy boy bag so bad. But it’s not even guaranteed good quality. I’d rather buy fine jewelry.
It is very tempting but sooo expensive!
