This episode just remind us again that Tyler will be remembered as one, if not, the best Clark Kent/Superman we have ever had. He has been my favorite for a while now, but most of all how understimated he is as an actor. I really hope he and everybody else in the cast gets other jobs after this. I wish James Gunn would give him and Bitsi a role in the DCU.
My favorite scene was at the end, when Clark is walking into the diner. He bypasses the girl from the beginning of the episode, who was behind a counter and sure that he's Superman. Once everyone knows, she looks at him in the diner and calls him "Mr. Kent." To me, this was an indication that all of Smallville is accepting the "new" reality and that the residents are treating it as normal.
I agree. I think the people of Smallville have solace in their knowledge but have no want to have it change their perspective of Clark and The Kent's much. They respect them enough to let them live as they wanted to
I love that we got a happy episode without Lex coming in to spoil it. And that Jimmy wasn't some Mr. Glass type villain, causing a catastrophe for Clark to stop and affirm his suspicion.
I will always say this... Tyler Hoechlin is a HECK of a Clark Kent/Superman... I really feel that there are large shoes to fill going forward for my fave modern Superman... dude has embodied the role since his appearance on Supergirl's show to his own... I wasn't always a huge fan of this show overall beyond the first season, but the human moments the actor portrays embodies everything there can be about Superman beyond just a comicbook savior figure... the show really go the HUMAN SIDE of Superman, beyond just Clark Kent as a persona.
Hey Mr Bobatalks.....this is the best iteration of Superman in live action rn......this is Superman......this is what should he be......who he should be
The idea that this version of Superman's parents being super hard on him to not reveal his powers... feels like how this show overall was clearly inspired by Zack Snyder's take, but done slightly differently.
This is by far the best comic book show of all time . Nothing comes close ,i really dont know how there going to top this show. I mean for marvel or dc nothing ,and i mean nothing comes close. The actors, the story ,everything. This is definitely anew take on superman and its welcomed by any and everyone who watched this show. Everything about this show is amazing 👏🏿
i would agree for this ep specifically, one of the best superman eps ever. but the rest of the show has its ups and downs, and can definitely still be surpassed by a good creative team like the ones that did penguin.
The Adult Swim My Adventures with Superman is another excellent adaptation. It’s through an anime/manga lense, but they make some brave and often heavy choices and is just excellent because they change superficial things, but retain the core of each character and the decisions they would make.
Idk I just love to see Jimmy and Clark after all these years. With Olsen call them "pals" with is a nice nod. Man we finally back to the roots of wholesome superman and I cant wait to see more
I really hate that this show is ending I really like it and I wish that James Gunn had picked Tyler to play superman in the new movie he does such a good job
Aww man I wanna thank you for putting me on to this show without you I would have never checked it out cw always disappoints. I must say this is the best Lex and Clark and Louis I have ever seen. Never thought I would feel so bad for the strongest man in the world These writers and actors are killing it !!!
I loved this episode! I am really becoming an old softy in my old age! I enjoyed this series. I am gonna miss it exactly for these kinds of episodes that really speak to the character of Superman and Clark Kent and his relationship with his family, I am really going to miss this series did I already say that lol well I am.
Finally a Superman universe reporter (Jimmy Olsen) figures out Clark is superman, I'm surprised more couldn't see passed a pair of glasses. This Episode is literally one of the best of the entire series, I am really sad to see it be canceled. Tyler is hands down the best Clark Kent period.
So many great Superman themed songs were written during the 90's and 2000's... yes Five for Fighting's song 'Superman (It's Not Easy)" and it was even used on Smallville show I think...
My only real complaint about this ep was going over the son's grappling with keeping Superman's secret... when they have literally done it all their life... to reiterate that and them struggle with it, felt this is not necessary... but I get it was there to add weight to Clark's decision to reveal it himself...
I don't usually comment, but I've just gotta say if James Gunn isn't able to portray his version of Superman as Clark Kent in a suit rather than superman just pretending to be feeble Clark Kent, he'll have failed. It will be entertaining and a great movie, but if it doesn't bring tears like Tyler has in this episode and this portrayal, then I'll be really disappointed. I just watched this episode and immediately had to jump to UA-cam to listen to other folks talk about how perfect they also thought this was.
If Otis flips on Luthor then Luthor will claim that Otis hates him and wants revenge and that it was Luthor's own fault for hiring him in the first place because he was "too woke".
I loved the Ep. Tyler is such a good Superman and the rest of the cast is very good too. I'm loving the new way this is going...very excited to see where it heads/what's next. Luthor is worrisome. I don't like him. But then I guess that is why this is such a good show, you're so invested that the bad guys actually make you worry for the characters in the show you like. :)
This became my favorite episode of Superman & Lois. So much to say. Something the show didn't touch on much until this episode, Clark's secret identity as Superman does bring him a lot of loneliness. Something we see in comics a lot and My Adventures with Superman actually touched on. He had to push away friends, from his best pals like Jimmy to Lois before they married. It also made it so in a way he can never truly be himself except for when he's with those who know him fully. This episode tackled that head on and so much more. Now I could go on about how like Lex this version of Jimmy is good but isn't fully accurate either or start ranting about how this was done and undone twice in less than 10 years recently in comics, but at the end of the day this is what's important: Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster created Clark Kent to represent us kids and nerds like they were who struggled with getting out our shells, getting confidence, standing up for themselves, making friends and finding love. He's "just a regular guy". But inside that regular guy was a super man, someone who could make a difference. Like he could be in any of us. Edit: Also, DITTO ON THAT FIVE FOR FIGHTING SONG. Absolute love it since childhood and listened to it after the episode too!
This show is so damn good, the show runners understand who & what superman is about, the reveal was perfect, his interview at the end was emotional, why do all the best scenes happen in that diner, this was a 10/10 episode.
Was it me, or were the "exceptional saves" Jimmy showed Clark calling him out as Superman from Superman Returns "the space shuttle"; Superman "saves Lois and catches the helicopter"; and Superman II "the Eiffel Tower scene"? If so, what great Easter Eggs!
Good analysis....but you missed the blatantly obvious Easter Eggs in this episode that paid homage to the Christopher Reeve 'Superman I & II" movies --- the helicopter save...the broken train-track save, and the Eifel Tower plummeting elevator save (which was one of the scenes from Superman II)...lol.
absolutely agree about people sleeping on this show .... even all my friends that I try to subtly push towards watching it, friends who claim to like superman, friends who have watched one or more of the previous series over the recent couple decades.... for some reason, they just never make it over and take it all in. I even tell 'em they can really just do this season and last if they want to... not sure what people's aversion to it is
If Warner Bros can move forward with THE BRAVE & THE BOLD while Matt Reeve's Batman is still releasing films in theaters, there's no reason we can't have James Gunn's Superman on the big screen and SUPERMAN & LOIS on the small screen. This show is too much fun.
The twins now have no choice but to become heroes serving those in need. Clarke could choose and enjoy a normal life. Clarke’s reveal takes away the boys choice.
Now, this might just be all about Lois, when he says "will she come out and debate me?" But I have to wonder, are we going for President Lex? Not that I think Lois would be an opponent or anything like that but, if he wants to keep the Kent family down, what better way than to get the whole world on his side and what better way to do that than to brand Lois "The Press" a liar then run to literally run the country?
I’ve accepted that there will be a lot of loose ends when this show ends. No way we can get a satisfying conclusion for all of these characters with 3 episodes left. And that includes the boys. The focus is Superman and Lois, giving them a proper end. What do you all think?
James Gunn and David (New Superman) can not and will not ever live up to this show or the arrowverse moltiverse should of kept everything going connections and all made it bigger with movies
Right. Kara came out in the final episode of her series. We never got Kat's reaction. Is this an analogy? Berlanti is gay and maybe closeted gay people can relate to Clark and Kara.
This episode just remind us again that Tyler will be remembered as one, if not, the best Clark Kent/Superman we have ever had. I agree 💯!!! Tyler Hoechlin is quite honestly the best portyal of Clark/Superman. 😎👍
He's been a great actor since he was a kid, in Road to Perdition...
This last season and they made it into complete joke, damn I see why Angry Joe, didn't want to review the remaining seasons.
I mean he made me forget completely he played an asshole werewolf so yea he's spectacular
@@kiidkif2009 Now he played excellent in Teen Wolf 😂.

I won't lie. This episode was one of my best. Tapping into Clark's humanity, an emotional episode, a lot of tear-jerker moments
Season is trash
DC really dropped the ball by canceling this show.
They realize how trash they made it. 😂
DC didn't cancel it... the CW chose not to renew it.
@@MedalionDS9 I think it was because of the James Gun universe, because he wants to clean house.
that diner scene where candace's dad shoots clark was so good .. and so sad. what a burden to carry. hiding such a big part of yourself from everyone.
This episode is also a Tyler Hoechlin easter egg. Tyler tried to pursue baseball and he's a huge baseball guy.
This was a great wholesome episode.
Superman soooooooooo damn fast you can shoot Clark once and after the muzzle flash he damn near tranformed and folded his clothes somewhere 😂
I love that we got a happy episode without Lex coming in to spoil it.
And that Jimmy wasn't some Mr. Glass type villain, causing a catastrophe for Clark to stop and affirm his suspicion.
Tyler is now officially my favorite Clark Kent of all time. This was my favorite Superman episode on TV ever.
I thought the actor who played Jimmy Olsen was perfect, loved his energy
I will always say this... Tyler Hoechlin is a HECK of a Clark Kent/Superman... The show’s so good, 3 episodes left!
I really want to see Sophie's reaction. "Mom! Dad! Mr Kent is Superman! What? You both knew? Chrissy? You too? Sarah? Oh come on!"
😂😂
Hey Mr Bobatalks.....this is the best iteration of Superman in live action rn......this is Superman......this is what should he be......who he should be
Honestly might be my favorite episode of the whole show. Superman And Lois is truly amazing!!
The idea that this version of Superman's parents being super hard on him to not reveal his powers... feels like how this show overall was clearly inspired by Zack Snyder's take, but done slightly differently.

Hopefully James Gunn can hire Berlanti and Johns back and apply their production and writing talents to the new DCU.
You would have thought Flash, Titans, Star Gitl and Doom Patrol would have proven their worth. Also Arrow Season 2. The other seasons weren't as good.
I personally thought Supergirl was good too. It felt like a Justice League show in the end.
The Adult Swim My Adventures with Superman is another excellent adaptation. It’s through an anime/manga lense, but they make some brave and often heavy choices and is just excellent because they change superficial things, but retain the core of each character and the decisions they would make.
Amazing episode, can’t believe there’s only 3 episodes left after this
Such a beautifully well done show 😢i am gonna miss it so much and Tyler knocked it out of the park this episode
Bro no wonder this the last season.
In one episode of this series we got a way better Jimmy Olsen and his sister than the entire Supergirl show.
Damn straight I fucking Hated the errorverse version!
Maan fr tho, he was giving "Jimmy" every second he was on screen 👏🏾
Idk I just love to see Jimmy and Clark after all these years. With Olsen call them "pals" with is a nice nod. Man we finally back to the roots of wholesome superman and I cant wait to see more

This show REALLY NEED ALOT OF LOVE
I hope we get a comic after the show. I need more of these characters 😭
The writers could do what Buffy The Vampire Slayer did and do "season 5" as a comics run.
@ yea I was thinking that too
Like Smallville season 11
Is it me or I have never seen DC social media pages promote this show or even mention it ever since James Gunn took over?
this episode really had me feeling all sorts of things
For me it was depression, from how bad they let it get, and it's ending poorly.
Clark Kent: original gaslighter lol
Your Documentary idea as an episode would be awesome. Good call.

Jordan and Jonathan were hard to take, but Clark taking them over to the QB's home was painful.

We'll definitely be hearing ZZ Top next week
Notice that she’s also looking at him…
Did you notice that the three saves that Jimmy found were Chris Reeves’ Superman from Superman 1 and 2. The first and last were Superman saving Lois.
Sad to see this show go. Really wish we could get 10 seasons of this or at least 2 more to really tie everything up.

could’ve slowed down time, fly over to the military base to borrow a bullet proof vest & return in .1 seconds to empty the gun.
