I drive a 2001 Passat and I can't find anywhere on UA-cam I just bought mine from a friend and well it's started to like not want to start right away
How did you take the plug off?
Press-in the catch at the top of the plug and gently pull. See 3'08"
Whitch fuse
The fuse allocation for the fuel pump varies according to the market the vehicle was sold in. Have a look at the owners handbook or the fuse box cover - there's normally some information there.
This may be way too late for you but I have a 2005 B5 4 Motion and the fuse is #28 on the driver-side fuse panel.
None of these cars in any youtube videos are like mine. It is a 2003 passat w8 with 4motion. There is no plastic ring. The ring is metal. The pump won't turn so I can loosen it from the tank. I hate vw. I will never own another one. This one may become a bonfire.
i hear you mate. im just facing to the same problem, mine is a 1.6 of 2004, i could barely find anything that does look similar. this is really annoying
@@daedricprince Finally got it changed, but it was a bitch. Parts stores wanted $800 for the pump. I found one on Amazon for $80. Took 3 hours, but It's working great now. Hope you have the same good luck.

@@shadow-jg1rt Why would you want to do a crazy thing like that? Anyway, there is a transmission issue now and the new battery I put in a month ago is dead after not starting for 2 days. Trust me, you don't want this car. I'm going to junk it next week.
@@OGDooshbagg Ive been looking everywhere for a w8 and the ones I find in my area are usually clapped out by kids that don't know what they're doing and still ask a pretty penny for them 😆
