Hi. I'm a poledancer and my next performance involves a nylon Spiderman suit. Obviously this has no grip. I was looking into liquid latex to add a somewhat adhesive layer to certain areas (hands, inner thigh etc.) Would this be appropriate do you think in mimicking the kind of grip you would get from skin contact? And if so, what was the name of the brand you recommended? As I would also like a clear finish. Thank you ☺️
What an interesting thought! Seems like it could work for sure, although it might snag a bit more than skin on the pole. I think the best approach would be to put some latex in a little squeeze bottle like the ones puffy paint comes in and do small dots of latex in the areas you want more grip. That way the finished look would kind of mimic the texture of Spider-Man’s suit. No latex will dry perfectly clear, even if it’s marketed that way, but you can tint latex with Liquitex Acrylic Paint, so that way it would blend into the suit. Personally, I like Mehron’s latex, but there’s tons of great options on the market. Hope this helps 😄

It contains ammonia, so always work in a well ventilated area 👍🏻
Sorry for the random question. Do you think it would be possible to cover up ear lobe gauge holes (not huge, about a 0 to a 00 in size) using something like liquid latex or an alternative?
I have seen people conceal stretched ear holes using silicone modeling compounds like Dermaflage. You could theoretically use latex, but the texture wouldn’t look super believable and at that size, it’d probably look a little weird like you have large ear lobes.
Thanks! I have a question, tomorrow is Halloween and I already did one wound in my arm so tomorrow morning I don't need to do it running before school. Do you think that the liquid latex would affect my skin or something. (it is a 4.50 latex lol)
The only reason it would affect your skin is if you’re allergic.
for the sake of asking, if you were to coat a material such as 40 denier tricot nylon that has a 2 way stretch (between 20 to 50%), will the latex bond to it and still allow the fabric to stretch or would it peel off and make the fabric unusable ? my girlfriend wants to coat the mentioned fabric above with liquid latex to make a halloween costume.
Latex will for sure bond to the fibers and it is flexible/stretchy, but it might limit the stretch of the fabric and it’s not breathable, so it would probably be very hot. My recommendation would be to do a patch test on said fabric and see how the latex affects it.
How can I avoid ripping my eyebrow with it?
Latex should not be used over any hair, you can always block out your eyebrow before applying latex 👍🏻
Do you know if there is a type of liquid adhesive that isn't sticky after dried, like a glue. Lol I don't even know if that is possible. I need a liquid adhesive that can glue something to the skin but isn't sticky after the fact.
Spirit gum dries down completely, but it’s not a very strong adhesive. I would use prosaide and just powder it to remove any residual tackiness
