a tip for mixing, if you let the flour in little by little and letting it disolve and sink into the latex before mixing in more, it makes the mixing more smooth.
I have come across you whilst searching for a cheaper alternative to silicone as it's so expensive. I'm looking to make moulds and resin inlays. Do you know if I could use latex to make resin inlays, which would only be 1mm or 2mm this. This could be a complete game changer, thank you!
Im not exactly sure if liquid latex is the best alternative for moulds/inlays given it's flexibility once cured. I would look into alginate first. It's what dentists use to make impressions and it's cheaper than silicone. You may want to invest in a release agent if you're going to experiment with different mediums. I hope that helps.
No. The formula is very wet so that it can be sculpted. It takes a long time for it to dry. I recommend using a face cast or halloween mask that fits your face to sculpt over and removing the prosthetic from that once it dries.
@@SlaymanSFX okay cool thank you. Do you have much experience in working with tissue and liquid latex and building on the face directly to make a prosthetic? I’m debating doing it that way but not sure if it’ll take ages/actually work
Hi, i am new to liquid latex. I want to create folds in the neck and side of the face. The ones on the side of the face would need to be stretched out and sticking out, like a 3D effect. Instead of lying flat on the face. First question. How do you get this thing to stick to your face ? Do you simply apply liquid latex to your face and stick it on ?
Hello! Yes, I used liquid latex to adhere it to my face, Although Liquid Latex is not a true adhesive it does have sticky properties. I would recommend Spirit Gum or Pros Aide if you are needing to wear it for several hours. Pros Aide being the more expensive of the three products but its a medical grade adhesive and works better on areas that the body has more movement. I have a video of the Honey Comb application that shows how I applied it to my face as well as links to the products I use that can be found in most current video's description boxes I hope that helps!
@@Tina-vt8fk Sculpt your prosthetics, cover it in liquid latex on a non porous surface building a base at the bottom. This will then be one piece and you can attach it to your skin with liquid latex.
Vaseline & Liquid Latex are not water, They are viscous enough for mixing agents though. Be sure when you store it, that It's in an air tight container and away from any humidity.
i'm planning to customize a store bought latex mask. Can i just leave it on the mask after building up details and painting it over? will it hold on permanently on the mask?

I had no idea latex could be thickened with flour, thank you loads for sharing that. I love your work, totally amazing
Thank you so much! I appreciate such a wonderful compliment.

Thanks for the tip!
Wow thank you so much for this awesome video!!! I never knew u could mix flour into liquid latex
Thank you for watching! I hope you find some great uses for this formula!
@@SlaymanSFXyou’re awesome!!!!❤❤
Is it possible to use liquid latex for creating mirrored copies of items by turning the deformed thin layer of vulcanized latex inside out?
It's possible if you use a release agent and brush in layers of liquid latex. Its how they release liquid latex from silicone. Hope that helps!

My issue has always been finding the ratio of flower to latex but I'm slowly getting there
It takes some getting used to for sure. I start small and add as I go. Thanks for watching! 🥰
What kind of flour are you using??
All Purpose
Do you think I’d be able to make a buffy vampire prosthetic with this straight onto my face without it falling off?

@@dannymellor7386 Yes, Ive done that often. If you need help look toward my Leprechaun tutorial because it is full face using cotton and liquid latex.
@@SlaymanSFX amazing thanks so much!
@@dannymellor7386 Welcome! Hope it helps.
Oh wow! Did you carve the honeycomb without any sort of stamp tool!? That's AMAAAZING regardless!?
Thank you! 🥰 I had some help, I used ehe end of an allen wrench to press into the design.

@SlaymanSFX Question, would it work if I created a base with Play doh or some sort of clay ? And then paint liquid latex over it several times ?
@@Tina-vt8fk Sculpt your prosthetics, cover it in liquid latex on a non porous surface building a base at the bottom. This will then be one piece and you can attach it to your skin with liquid latex.
Ok so I can shape the play doh into the folds I need and then paint over it with latex and then remove and stick to the face ?
hey! how the flour doesn't start having mold ?

Add silica tab in storage …also use talc powder over it to dry out stickiness
You should have been hired for "Candyman".

It should hold. I would work in thin layers so that each layer dries completely.
@@SlaymanSFX thank you for the reply! Right on time, I'm starting tonight 😁
@@chrisnchips5689 Excellent!!!
Does thickening it up help minimize the latex shrinkage?
Yes, The more filler you add will cause it to be stiff, but it also takes longer to cure.
Can you use this to make pea sized balls out of this? And can you colour them. I have a serious reason for asking?
Kind regards
Mark.
Yes Thank you for watching 🥰
@SlaymanSFX thanks, would I just roll these into small balls like I would with playdoh?
@@mysticmarkthemagician5852 Yes.
Yes ince say they can be painted
Thank you so much😊
So cool!
