Don't apologise when your heart speaks. Music touches it, and there are things you feel but can't name. It's the same for everyone. Music is often inexplicable because it actually has a magic in it. And a person like you, who is so wonderfully open, can feel this magic. Maintain your openness and ability to feel magic throughout your life. You will then see beyond the horizon into a wondrous reality and you will be in the Otherworld.
Never apologize for having human emotions. Many of us feel exactly the same way. It is a very deep song, with lyrics that speak to everyone. It's very emotional and we feel it too.

We are eternal spirits on an endless journey IMHO...Peace to you on your path. (I've been lucky enough to see PF 6 times, going way back to 1977 when the Animals album came out...)
To listen to the entire album of Dark Side of the Moon, is to take a ride on a roller coaster of emotions. Each song is tied to the next one. After 50+ years of DSOTM, new listeners are still being amazed by the incredible catalogue of their work.
The only thing better then listening to them is to see them surrounded by tens of thousands that feel the same way. I was fortunate to see them when I was a young man and so were they . The 60 s and 70 s were a truly magical time for music . Never to be again .
53 years old and this song just hits harder every time I listen to it. No need to apologize…it was a beautiful and genuine reaction to a brilliant song.
Always studio first so you know what it was like when people first heard it when the album was released. Then do the live, not only to gauge the differences but also see what the audience felt like when they heard these songs they knew, but live for the first time.
THAT is what Pink Floyd does, they are masters at putting emotion, whatever emotion they intended you to feel into their art. No other band does it better
That line, “And then one day you find Ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run You missed the starting gun” Is sobering. I think especially for those in their 20’s and their 30’s first hearing this. It’s like a lightbulb they weren’t ready to turn on. But, this is life. This album, “Dark Side of the Moon” came out 51 years ago. March 1, 1973. I was on a Facebook post talking with friends about what song I thought was the best. This is the song I chose. The concept of time is something that rules our lives. And it’s a human construct. Yes. Good you did the studio version. And you really must listen to the album in one sitting.
Yes. The music is wonderful, so beautiful and soothing. The lyrics...are anything but soothing. They are disturbing. And..the older you get, the more they hit home. Cheers.
"You are young, and life is Long". There is time to live today. Thank You for sharing. When your heart fills it needs to spill over from time to time, cleansing the Soul. This song gets through, to many People. Stay Strong!
Please no reason to be sorry for tearing up. Pink Floyd music has emotional effect on everyone who has feelings. Sometimes I tune out on the lyrics and just listen to the music so I don’t get depressed. Enjoy your reactions, Thank you.
I was 14 when I first listened to this and I took note of the message, I’ve done exactly what I wanted to do with the last 34 years. Some of it was frittered away with flights of fancy, a lot of hard work has been done but I have absolutely no regrets because all of my decisions were conscious, they were mine and I’m happy with them.
Pink Floyd understood life, they hit the nail right on the head with their lyrical depictions of daily life for the everyday person and the less fortunate, you might not connect with the lyrics so much while you are young but as you get older the lyrics seem to start and hit home, this was another beautiful reaction from you...
The fact you were moved to tears tells me you really listened and felt what the song was about. Pink Floyd don't put notes together, they craft experiences that teleport you elsewhere in such a way that you wonder just how that was possible through music alone. The whole album is a journey - as is The Wall. Welcome to musical excellence!
@@michaeltowner1748 I didn't consider it to be pedantic. It's easier to imagine someone having the insight to realise 'ten years have got behind you' if they are reaching the age of 30 when they write it.
It is a deep and very emotional song. It’s was also my jumping off point for Pink Floyd when I was 10 and it’s still and incredibly beautiful and at the same time deviating real about one’s time passing
No need to apologies for the tears Floyd has this effect on people their lyrics are thought provoking, and their soundscape brings out emotions this has made their music long lasting and still relevant today after this was released 50 years ago. I was 16 when I bought this album on its release in 1973 the track which follows this Great gig in the sky brought tears to my eyes then and still does now..
If Pink Floyd makes you cry it only means listened to the music. Never a need to apologize. They play directly to your emotions. Sometime just David's guitar will make us cry, no lyrics needed. I'm 68 and after 50 years of listening to this album parts still bring a tear to my eye. In fact, the older I get the deeper this song hits me.
Hi beautiful Ola, what I know about time is when you're young it seems to go so slowly, and as you get older it passes so quickly. Let your emotions flow sweetie. It shows your heart and humanity.
It's OK to cry I'm 60 & I still tear up. The greatness of PF takes us to different mind spaces & we learn to Feel our emotions in a good way. Just learn to close ure eye's when listening. Do Great gig in the sky next. Always do the studio version first. Great,Great reaction that u so much!!!!
as a 23 year old man, and a stoner, i’ve only recently heavily gotten into older music and man pink floyd has made me cry so hard. the guitar just fucking speaks to me and the lyrics are so powerful. god i love music. born in 2000 but i wanna be a 70s baby so bad.
Please don’t ever apologize for feeling these songs. They made this music for us to feel it and get something out of it about our lives . When we cry it just means it’s working and we are understanding the music the way they want us to. If u don’t cry during PF once in awhile then u just aren’t listening hard enough . Just go with it . We expect u to cry FYI! We also cried when we heard this song for the first time and I still cry sometimes even after hearing it 1,000 times over. That’s the magic and the gift their music brings. It makes us get in touch with emotions we rarely explore or want to explore ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🤍Therapy before there was Therapy so to speak🤍
This is one of the best reaction I have seen before. I have been grown up with this music (my birthday is in the year 1959) and this music was normal for me. But now I have seen how younger people are reacting to this music and I am so happy. Because this music was normal for me and I didn't realize how great this music is. But now I know and I am happy young people are recognizing how great this music is. Thx a lot to all of you, you made me so happy and you made it I am recognizing which perfect and amazing music this is. Sorry for my english, my native language is german, I am from Austria in the middle of Europe where famous musicians were born :)
This song is pure reality. Time is going by faster and faster (to me), and realizing I will be 70 in just 15 short years is pretty scary to me. Gosh, where did those years go? Im really having a hard time processing it all.
Growing up listening to this song since I was a kid, I didnt pay attention to the lyric meaning, but each year now that Im older, the lyrics ring in hard, truth smacks you in the face, thinking about all the years that was wasted instead of enjoyed.
I was 11 years old when this came out, I'm 62 years old now. This is one of the few songs that gathers MORE meaning to me EVERY YEAR. I've learned that there IS no "starting gun". If you are young, give your thing a go! Do it before you can't.
This is still my favorite of all your reactions, so pure and honest. It doesn't matter how many times I've heard this I still have the same reaction that you had.
I have seen many people do reaction videos for this song. You are the first to have been wise enough to realise what you were hearing and not pause the song the entire way through. I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as you did.
Don't apologize for crying, this is a profound song, and it's really powerful. I'll tell you what you could do is simply listen to the entire album because it's a concept album of sorts but the track sequencing is amazing and some of the songs flow right into the next one and it is so atmospheric.
I was 17 when this came out and bought the album I just thought it was a cool song on the album. Then the older I got the more it started hitting home and the more the lyrics hit me. It is my favorite song, lyrics, and guitar solo of all time wrapped in one song.
I remember listening to this 50 years ago, when I was a kid, and now in a flash here I am, nearly a senior citizen. Make the most of your youth while you have it.
The older you get, the harder this hits. I am 60 and this song keeps getting more real everyday. I am one of the lucky ones who didn't 'kick around on a piece of ground in my home town or miss the starting gun,' but believe me it was only by pure luck that I got away from that place and there were many great people in my life who made sure the 'starting gun' was blasted into my ears when I wanted to just sit around and not move. But every year is getting shorter and there are many regrets all the same.
If you can take something positive from this song, it's to enjoy what you have when you have it. Nothing lasts....so appreciate what you have. Look around you and take it all in.
A pleasure to watch. Dark side of the moon is for me the perfect album. When I listen to it, I feel like I've spent a quarter of an hour listening to it. Time has a superb intro and a wonderful Gilmour solo. thank you very much for the analysis/reaction. I'm 58 and I know that in ten years' time I'll still be listening to this album.
Great reaction. I first heard this song aged 10 in the early 1980's and it blew me away as had not heard anything like this before but was too young to appreciate the lyrics. As you get older and the decades pass the meaning of the song hits very deeply. The whole Dark Side of the Moon album is a masterpiece and I recommend listening to it from start to finish.
Your reaction is what I remembered feeling when listening to this album at my uncle's house for the first time. He had it on Reel to Reel, back in the mid 70's, and put me on my back, eyes closed and had two Allegro speakers in an A shape over me. Never forgot each visual journey this album evoked. You might want to listen to it from start to finish...later. Thank you
I'm grateful I heard this song when I was young. Many of the songs we grew up with weren't just entertaining, they contained very deep messages. Some of them to be taken seriously and applied to life.
Well done for listening from the beginning. Most people start at the chimes. This is a song which “chimes” with so many people. “One day you find ten years have got behind you”...with me it was four...I was lucky and caught up. I’m 75 now and it’s still such a true song...”shorter of breath...every by year is getting shorter...plans that come to naught...hanging on.”
When you are ready and only when you are ready should you react to the live version. The fact that you cried some tears simply means that Pink Floyd succeeded in writing and performing this timeless song for us.
This is one of the best songs in the PF canon and is one of the saddest songs in the whole of rock. "Hanging on in quiet desperation Is the English way The time is gone, the song is over Thought I'd something more to say"
When i saw you close your eyes and put you hands over the ear phones i knew you got it. in 1994 i flew from Australia for the PULSE concert, Comfortably Numb has Dave Gilmour playing at his best. especially the second solo which is arguably the BEST most epic solo you will ever hear. he can make a guitar, talk sing and cry all at the same time. another great song is Wish You Were Here, which is the song i taught myself to play acoustic guitar on. i'm 70 and have been a Floydy for 50+ yrs now. Don't stop your journey, you wont be disappointed !!!!!!!!!
The song isn't about dying, it's about not living. It's a lesson to use your time wisely and get the most out of the most and maybe only precious resource we each own, TIME. Peace/JT

Saw them do this on the Dark Side of the Moon tour in ‘74. Damn we were lucky.
If Pink Floyd doesn’t stir up emotions in you, then either you’re not hearing it fully or you’re a robot.
Facts ⭐️
“No one told you when to run. You missed the starting gun.” Think about it.
Literally every chance you had you passed off or f**ked up.🙈🙉🙊😢
" Time is like a river, a violent current of events, glimpsed once and already carried past us, and another follows and is gone."
Marcus Aurelius.
53 years old and this song just hits harder every time I listen to it. No need to apologize…it was a beautiful and genuine reaction to a brilliant song.
I was 17 in high school when this album came out, I'm 64 now, this song makes me tear up every time, how did they know that at such a young age,
Truly this question has mystified me forever & not just with them ALL the greats its **Magic** to me ~shrugs~ &i Luv every minute of it! RockON!!!
Methinks you are lying about your age!😁
@@terrytowelling8114 ok, I was 13 in 1973 when this album, came out, I just remember at 16 we loving it, still the song time is timeless,
This is an absolute masterpiece
Always studio first so you know what it was like when people first heard it when the album was released. Then do the live, not only to gauge the differences but also see what the audience felt like when they heard these songs they knew, but live for the first time.
THAT is what Pink Floyd does, they are masters at putting emotion, whatever emotion they intended you to feel into their art. No other band does it better
It's an emotional song. The guitar solo as well. Powerful. Been a fan since the late 70s and this one still hits me every time I hear it
That line,
“And then one day you find
Ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run
You missed the starting gun”
Is sobering.
Some of it was frittered away with flights of fancy, a lot of hard work has been done but I have absolutely no regrets because all of my decisions were conscious, they were mine and I’m happy with them.
all pink Floyd songs are emotional. they bring out the hidden feelings inside everyone and lay them bare. no other band can do it so consistently. ❤
Arguably, in my opinion, one of the best songs ever created. Welcome to the club.
Beautiful honest reaction young lady...yes... the song is all about reality and our acceptance of it.
I love the drumming.
Just when think you' ve heard this ten thousand times you listen again and just sit in awe of the creation of this legendary music.
This song will have a deeper and more profound effect on you as you get older.
I am 61 and every word is true and hits like a hammer blow, believe me.
Well you are still young.... just don't miss that starting gun
it always brings back a lot of memories, i listen to that album first time in 1977 ..
These guys were in their early twenties when this song was originally composed - the insight into life is truly amazing
They were all either approaching or just turned thirty, except David Gilmour was a couple of years younger.
@@yampymusic one pedantic little know all aren't you
@@michaeltowner1748 I didn't consider it to be pedantic. It's easier to imagine someone having the insight to realise 'ten years have got behind you' if they are reaching the age of 30 when they write it.
The brilliance of every aspect of this song is indescribable.
Enjoy the cry girl! I am nearly 60 and have heard this song hundreds of times. it still brings a tear to m eye every time. Let it out.
50 years have got behind me since I first heard it
This album came out when I was 14. Blew my mind and started my journey with Floyd.
Think u so much.
as a 23 year old man, and a stoner, i’ve only recently heavily gotten into older music and man pink floyd has made me cry so hard. the guitar just fucking speaks to me and the lyrics are so powerful. god i love music. born in 2000 but i wanna be a 70s baby so bad.
70s were idyllic.
Pink Floyd gets you in the feels a lot. The more you feel it the better it is❤😊
This song is pure reality. Time is going by faster and faster (to me), and realizing I will be 70 in just 15 short years is pretty scary to me. Gosh, where did those years go? Im really having a hard time processing it all.
Same .. 15 yrs I will be 70😳😎
Growing up listening to this song since I was a kid, I didnt pay attention to the lyric meaning, but each year now that Im older, the lyrics ring in hard, truth smacks you in the face, thinking about all the years that was wasted instead of enjoyed.
I think this should be required listening for all youth, with the lyrics of course.
Yes this is the track that transitions directly into "The Great Gig in the Sky" and that just adds so much context ❤
watching you brought tears too my eyes. tears of joy
Don't apologize for crying, this is a profound song, and it's really powerful. I'll tell you what you could do is simply listen to the entire album because it's a concept album of sorts but the track sequencing is amazing and some of the songs flow right into the next one and it is so atmospheric.
You are about to hear one of the best songs ever made.
I was 17 when this came out and bought the album I just thought it was a cool song on the album. Then the older I got the more it started hitting home and the more the lyrics hit me. It is my favorite song, lyrics, and guitar solo of all time wrapped in one song.
This is the way life is. One day you're 25, you go to bed then when you wake up you're 65
Lol, so true!
...don't apologize for relizing you have a soul. ~welcome to Pink Floyd, it was beautiful to watch.
This song means more to me today than when it first came out. Life and Time has passed so fast. Every day one day closer to death. Sad to think.
Best band I've ever seen live
Un des plus grands chefs d'oeuvre de la musique, tout époque et tous genre confondu...
There are a lot of life lessons in Pink Floyds music.
You can handle it, even scientists, over 50, years haven't figured out how pink floyd puts you through a time space continuum ,
5:14 Chuckles at the "Eargasm"... AND THEN THAT SOLO HIT HER RIGHT IN THE SOUL.
When you’ve had a long difficult day and you finally get to pop down and listen to Pink Floyd it’s good medicine
When I come home cold and tired, it’s good to warm my bones beside the fire
You're explanation is beautiful. Other folks really dig too deep. You really got it. Beautiful.
I'm 58 and I know that in ten years' time I'll still be listening to this album.
all Pink Floyd songs are full of emotion. laid alone with it volume up full, eyes closed. they take you away.🎉
"Hanging on in quiet desperation
Is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over
Thought I'd something more to say"
Hello, when I saw you had an Instagram account I posted a link to the whole PULSE CONCERT on there for you. Enjoy 😉 Peter
seen them 5 times greatest band ever !
You are forgiven. Floyd does it to everybody. That's why they're so legendary. 😎🇺🇸
As everyone says, you don't just listen to Pink Floyd. You feel it! Enjoy the rest of the journey into Pink Floyd 🎉
The song isn't about dying, it's about not living. It's a lesson to use your time wisely and get the most out of the most and maybe only precious resource we each own, TIME. Peace/JT
You did a wonderful job.....hey it's Pink Floyd....everything they made was to make you think and feel emotions. This is definitely one of their trademark songs.....I'm glad you did it....thank you.
If you listen to it in a certain mood Dark side of the Moon can make you cry several times, its that beautiful of an album
