I realized this early on in my life, but only in correlation to drinks. I would chug down a soda in two seconds and realized that I was really just thirsty and didn’t even enjoy the soda! Idk why I haven’t applied the same concept to food
My daughter also lost 100 pounds by doing the same thing. It took her about 3 years, but she completely changed her life and her attitude toward food and how she eats it.
The ONLY thing that works for me after years of watching what I eat is that I accept I’m a greedy girl when it comes to sugary foods. So, I don’t have ANYTHING in the house that’s sugary. I’ll literally open cupboard doors looking for treats which I know aren’t there 😂 works a treat!
Water first is such a good tip. As an ADD person who never remembers to drink water and only has coffee until after work, I often come home needing literally everything and target food because I feel shaky and bad. Drinking a large glass or two of iced water or decaf green tea first makes such a difference. I still eat until I’m full, but I’m hydrated, and it’s water or tea filling in those “gaps” instead of a second helping.
Delay don’t deny is a concept by him Stephens in her book delay don’t deny but her new book is gold “fast feast repeat” tells you all the basics you need to know in about intermittent fasting
I eat the same things 6 days out of the week and on the 7th day I rest and eat 1 big cheat meal with main dish, sides, and desert. I cannot do moderation whatsoever it’s all or nothing
I have to have healthy meals waiting for me. I can't sit in traffic plotting dinner. I need to pre make and pre measure food. there are no decisions under the influence of hunger and portion control is already done. My dessert is fruit.
The comment section is so positive! I love it. People listening to their bodies and knowing themselves and what works best for them. Good job everybody!!!
Got this meal from
"Delay, not deny." Words to learn to live by!

As a fluffy woman trying to lose weight: THANK YOU! A nutritionist who finally gets it. I love your tips, they are very manageable.
I need to lose weight. I believe I can do it the way you did it. It’s very logical but not denying. Thank you!

You just talked me out of that 5 layered dip, and chips I wanted.
This is actually a genius concept. Thank you 💛
I do this intuitively after my mom spent my childhood trying to teach me this! Proud of her and of myself 😍
That’s why stir fry can be a great way to fill you up. And soups as well. Just add some
