Curious beast and an interesting subject. The 3d decals are waterslide decals and work similarly to Eduard's Space decals. Release from the backing paper in water and apply with a dab of PVA.
Very interesting plane mate. Screams out for a water base diorama :D The decals I think you can use PVA glue like Quinta Studio 3d decals. Maybe they made it for Xtrakit who knows.
It was a superb aircraft, which met, or exceeded every requirement. The legendary test pilot Eric 'Winkle' Brown flew it and loved it, but whilst taxying on the Solent in '267', he hit a submerged object, which wrote the aircraft off, and Brown was dragged unconscious from the wreckage. However, Helicopters were taking over from a lot of fixed wing naval aircraft, for spotting and ASR duties. and seaplanes and flying boats were seen by some as old fashioned, and so the Admiralty turned it down. Pity.
If it's from Eastern Europe then generally there will be extras. I picked up one of those Arma Mustangs a couple weeks ago and I was very impressed with what came in the box.
This looks like a rather comprehensive kit of an interesting subject, I’m definitely tempted to get this 😂 but really need to clear some of my stash first
What a wonderful kit . I am impressed. However, I can not afford any more kits . I blew my model budget on vintage kits and a lot of special hobby kits. So, I won't be buying it for now. High fuel and electric prices are really going to kill my hobby budget this year and into the future. But, love the video and hunger for the kit, but won't be buying it this year. I got enough to build for at least the next 20 years if not more. So, good luck from this side of the pond and we' ll keep an eye on Putin with you as our allies.
@@MOS6510Models Actually yes. However, being an old fuddy duddy and not internet shopping, how do I find one. There are no model shops anywhere near by. I wish there were, I miss being able to see what I am buying, and chatting to like minded real people.
Working my way through this kit at the moment - definitely NOT a kit for a beginner / novice (which I am). No locator pins by and large so lots of dry fitting necessary (especially around the wings). Pay special attention to the fitting of the cockpit tub and the p/etch grill for the nose intake. When dry fitting the fuselage halves, don't put in the wing spar as it is a very tight fit, only add it when ready to glue the two halves together. In fact, the wing spar is a little too big for the slots so some cutting and trimming needed (in my example anyway). And lots of trimming and sanding of small prices of flash. Not to impressed with the 3D decals, although the seat cushion decals are fine.
