I have a 2015 Tundra Crewmax 4x4, 5.7, 80k miles. I took into the dealer last month for servicing, and the sales manager came to me and said he'd give me $35k for it. He said that he could sell my truck quicker than anything he had on the lot. Meaning the new Tundras. I bought my truck back in 2015 and paid it off in 2018. I'm never selling. My 5.7 has gotten me out of a lot of terrains. From the snow in Detroit to the desert of Nevada. No issues! I'm not getting rid of her.
I have a 2016 SR5 4x4 with only 36k. Only upgrade are TOYO tires with 5k and a adjustable rack. All service done on time and in immaculate condition. Paid something like 34 (I think). At oil change last week and I was held up waiting. Apparently they were looking it over closely and made me an offer of 32k. I turned them down
Is a GEM, I own a 17 tundra limited no plans on selling it
Smart man 👌💪
I love hearing u talk about these tundras, not the new crappy stuff that's called a tundra
I agree 👍🏼
I concur !! 😊
Still have my 07 5.7 Tundra. Its not going nowhere. 237k miles, run beautiful.
barely broken in.
If it’s not going no where, then it’s going somewhere.

When will Toyota realize that this is what we want?
Right
Blame the EPA not Toyota
There chasing ford because they sell prolly 500k plus f150s a yr only thing is people buy a f150 for the image you aint a rich american unless you got a brand new f150 tundra is to reliable and not trendy enough mabe if the new ones said ford blackstone edition they would sell reql quick
Toyota would’ve kept a V-8 if it weren’t for government mandates they want this to but their hand is forced to 2027 EPA EMISSION regulations a bit ahead of time you’ll see everyone going to this when their next gen vehicles debut my friend
@@jonathanratliff4780 Ford quite basically said "F*** you" to the government. They don't care beacause they know that this isn't the way things will be. They want whats best for the customer. Also the i-force V8 can be tuned and modified for better MPG's. Ford's 5.0 Coyote somehow manages to meet emissions standards, General Motors doesn't care when it comes to the 5.3 or 6.2... I think it's just the greedy EPA taking advantage of everyone and everything just to make some damn cash.
Great Work ! Demand for Simplicity , Reliability and Longevity Wont STOP !
Agreed.. I don't trust turbos.
Best trucks ever made, first and second generation Tundra.
Lol
that's funny ford been number one on pickups since 1972
@@imapiledriver2462 In sales yes in reliability no.

Love my 07 5.7 just rolled 650,000 runs like new !
Email me, we gotta talk about that truck! Tundradude34 at gmail dot com
Our 2024 Chevy trail boss blowed out the water pump today going up a slightly steep grade, had to have it towed in,was pulling a small ATV side by side on a trailer man so embarrassing!! I'm going back to this type of Tundra as soon as they repair the Chevy
What motor?
Just can't beat these trucks man
I will hold on my 2018 limited with 60 k miles.
I recently just bought myself a 2016 Trd Pro Tundra that’s all black out and damn it’s my fav truck to drive, glad I work really hard to get it at 19.
2021 looks the best!
Glad to hear my 21 Tundra Ltd is worth more than 22+ 🎉
Just took my 2019 in for service. Bought it 3 years ago off Facebook marketplace for 38k. Cement grey/ SR5. Had 10k miles on it. Original owner was selling cause he wanted a 3500 to tow his trailers. The service center at Toyota offered to buy it from me for 41k! I’ve driven 10k. These trucks are Gems!! Never selling!
Crazy we appreciate things a little more when there gone . Beast tundras
I'm gonna hold onto my 2021 TRD Pro with my life lol
great job focusing on the 2nd gen ... its crazy how things have changed in a few weeks with this truck...
That 2018! Wow wow wow! If I didn’t have mine I’d snatch that thing up yesterday! 🔥🔥
Just bought a 15 after losing my 10 to an accident! Best trucks ever!
So glad I bought out my 19 SR5TRD crew cab for $24 gs she will last longer than a new one. She gets oil change every 5000 mi
Yup.. My first (purchased May 31st 2020 for 42799 OTD) Tundra is a 2019 1794 CM 4x4 in Barcelona Red. Ill never get rid of her and probably won't ever buy a 3rd Gen Tundra.
I just got a ‘21 TRD Pro LR, Clean Car Fax, from Chuck Hutton Toyota in Memphis. Drove it back to Tulsa. It was off a lease in Katy Tx. (Houston). Took it to my long time, trusted paint and body guy to get some superficial stuff done and he informed me it had some front-end sheet metal work done, to include a repainted hood & right front damage, new non-oem head lights. It’s going to be $9,500 to fix all this. Sucks to get jobbed like that, but we live and learn. The original owner in Katy, Tx got one over on me. He needs to pray our paths never cross!
The dealer should have found that through the Car Fax.
Yes, Carfax is not going to pick up all the damage. I don't ever report damage - I just pay out of pocket and save on both depreciation and insurance. My wife and daugher have combined for over 20 accidents and maybe three got reported when I could not intervene and strike a deal with the person they hit. It's a small town so I usually just say I'll cut you a check for any shop you pick no questions asked. Need to pull trigger on a good paint thickness meter that will pick up paint work and body filler. Seems to be a must have if I'm looking at 50K for a used truck. Sorry for your issue - maybe take a look at those meters if you go that route again.
Car Fax does not catch work done independent of insurance claims or DMV records. That aside, how is it the original lease holder's fault? All they did was turn the vehicle in, or trade it in. That is your fault for paying top dollar on a leased vehicle. Lease holders are basically renting the vehicle for a period of time. They treat the vehicle like a rental car, beat it, don't change oil, no services. Buyers would be better off driving a hard deal on a new GM or Ford and if you're afraid of failures, trade it in at 100,000 miles. Interesting how in the Bible Belt you threaten someone that you never met, a person that did nothing to you. Peace
@@mikehughes8023car fax only reports what the owner does. It really isn't as reliable as they like to make it seem.
I have a 2015 1794 tundra , bronze color exterior 95k miles in excellent condition, never getting rid of it. I only drive it to work and back home 6 miles to work and back home , sits in my driveway on the weekend
Mark, if you get the opportunity sometime at willing dealership, could you compare your truck side by side with the previous generation? Things like legroom, headroom, etc. I don't think you can easily demonstrate the turning radius difference, but that also was a big difference I noticed the first time I drove a 3rd gen. Thanks
I drive a 2021 platinum. Love it! Don’t plan on trading for a long time!
Still hangin' with my '02 trd 4x4 AC 172K, original owner. Runs like silk.
Dang, those prices are pretty high. Six months ago I bought a 2019 Crew Max SR5 Premium, safety sense, Offroad package in Cavalry Blue with 42k miles for $35k. Just paid it off last week. Gonna drive it til it won’t go no mo!
The dealers know the demand is up!
Bought my 20 TRD Pro at Liberty, and I love it. The more I hear about the new gen's problem, the happier I am about my 20.
Good news I'm actually thinking of selling my 2019 limited with only 37k miles lots of extras on it
Staten island NY
I like what you are doing,by not focusing on the recall in positive or negative way👌👍.
Until the remedy is announced, theres really not much more to say on the recall
Yeah these new tundra's and their issues definitely seem to be making it harder to fond a good second gen for a good price. Found a clean 2014 in WV over the weekend, snd it was gone this morning.
Love my 2018. 48k miles never seen road salt...tows my 25 ft toy hauler very well. These trucks are the pinnicle of of toyota
2024 Toyota is still the best for me!!!
I love my 2023 capstone ❤
Love my 2024 pro
It’s kind of funny how the trim levels start to creep up over the years… All of a sudden, the “limited” trim is the “middle of the road” trim level when it used to be the ultimate luxury.
Good call!
First week in my brand new 2021 tundra (it was December 2021) I was rear ended by a guy going 70mph, I was at the back of a stopped line of traffic. It hurt ! But I walked away from that wreck.
I just passed 38k on its replacement, 2021 Tundra and it never crosses my mind to sell it.
I test drove the new one while back at my last free oil change. It was boring, felt like driving a Camry,
3” lift, Trd pro wheels, Trd cat back.
I’m Second gen till the wheels fall off !
I have a 2018 Platinum, love it, I personally think it looks better than the 3rd gen, black on black, the only thing I wished it had is a heated steering wheel, live in Wisconsin.
Isnt it sad when a company like Toyota loses sight of their product range and what their own customers want..
Prices are through the roof on these. Glad I bought my 16 when I did.
These are becoming collectors items!
i was a GM guy ...but i had others ford -150, dodge -ram even a jeep-cherokee never got a chance to own a nissan ....my last truck was a brand new 2014 gmc sierra 5.3 Z71.....nothing but problems the last straw was a new rack and pinion and the truck didnt even have 75,000 miles....traded it in for a used 2014 tundra and NEVER LOOKED BACK....THE TRUCK HAS BEEN BULLETPROOF ...YES BULLETPROOF
BOUGHT IT BACK IN 2018 AND 175,000 MILES LATER AND HAVENT EVEN CHANGED A SHOCK!!!!.........i am not here to gloat or say mine is better then yours i am just telling you my story and i can honestly admit if my tundra keeps going the way it is .....i will keep it as long as i can....no need to change so i can pay more for maintenance with another brand
I don’t know why lately I been wanting me one of these, might be the tried and true 5.7 V8 but I would love the double cab long bed
Just got a 2020 TRD pro tundra crewmax 42k miles for 47k$ very clean and all stock oem. Was a gem indeed. Love the V8. Toyota gold certified as well 12year warranty!
That right there is a solid find. Stock and certified, win-win
I'm a few minutes away from Holman. That black one is really nice.
Yeah, that one was awesome. After I shut the camera off, i was drooling over it for a bit 🤣
2018 - last year of the transmission oil cooler in the Tundra.
In my mind the 2018 is the best year as it has the TSS and the LED highlights but also was the last year with the cooler.
That SR5 silver metallic is awesome! I like the wheels, the folding tonneau cover, and the look of the hood with TOYOTA on the bulge. The only problem is,,, it’s silver 😔. If that truck was Magnetic grey,, it would’ve flown off the shelf!!
Wooooooohooooooo! V8 ENGINES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SR5 Trail Edition 👍 that is the price I paid for my 2015 SR5 wow.
I have a question for you Mark..... If you knew then what you know now about the 3rd gen Tundra issues, would you have kept your 2nd gen and passed on the 3rd gen? Thanks again for the best channel! 👍
I’d still get the 2023 i have now. Even though there is a lot going on out there, personally, this truck has been solid so far. I really like it.
@@TundraDude34 Great to hear and thank you for your honest answer, Mark! Each of us has their own likes and dislikes. Opinions will always vary and at the end of the day, we're all Toyota fans for one reason or another. When the 3rd gen was released, it somehow managed to pit 2nd gen and 3rd gen Tundra owners against one another and vise versa. Most people fear change but in reality, it is the only permanent in life.
Tell me about it. Just bought my 2020 Platinum and it was a really hard, expensive find. Talked to the salesman and there huge interest in this generation over the new one.
I bought my 2021 SR5 at 5k under MSRP brand new, I squeaked in before all the pricing went nuts. Just crossed 20k miles, definitely doesn't get driven much.
We just got 2 of them 5.7 V8. A 2020 SR5 TRD OFF Road and a 2021 SR5 TRD OFF Road plus in cavalry Blue.
Send me a pic of that Cavalry blue one! Tundradude34 at gmail dot com
On the Barcelona Red Tundra, I wonder how much I would have to pay to have them leave the pin stripes off?
I have 2017. If had it to do again, would go 2020 or 2021. Toyota made all the updates on those years. PB start, all the safety, old school antenna delete. Updated cluster with more features. Correct me mark, but I think you were saying finally got apple/android car play.
Yet they deleted the transmission cooler for some reason. I have a 2017 as well and would like the updated features of the 2020 2021
Them trucks don’t go boom 💥
I bought my 22 limited TRD 22 so far still working fine knock on bamboo yes I’m still worried I put 35k now
I'm seeing the exact same pricing here in SC. With any type of milage under 30K it's right around the new MSRP back three years ago. I like the truck and may get one. Have the money to strike a check but it's a tough pill to swallow. Don't really need to tow so the smart money would be a heavily discounted Nissan Pro 4X Frontier. Just can't get that excited about the looks. Just for looks like the new Tundra or a GMC Sierra but both have issues. The DFM and transmissions on the GMC (and Silverado) are a total crap shoot. Will be dead soon, so really need to hold my nose and buy a low milage 18-21 1794 since that's what will be both reliable and have some looks.
You would think that most people would just buy it at the end of the lease because I bet ya they didnt figure on the crazy price increases from 3 years ago so the residual value would have been much lower
4 of these trucks are more expensive now than what I paid for my 2020 trd pro 2 years ago 😅 holy shit. Wonder how much my trd pro would go for right now.
Eventually I’ll buy a new Tundra but until then long live the 5.7!!!!
The prices you’re coming across at dealers are pretty decent. Carmax is asking much more. If I wasn’t all the way on the west coast I would definitely consider buying one of those.
I was looking at Carvana Tundra prices the other day. They are out of there mind lol
When you get in the third generation then go back and get in the second generation tundra you instantly feel the quality difference The plastics are more hollow and thinner on the new generation and that's not saying much😅
So it seems the resale of the Gen2.5’s will be really high 2025 and onward. All the leased 2021 v8’s will have been made available and people will be trying to a\/oid the Gen3 models. 💪😎
2024 Toyota Tundra platinum Iforce max is amazing much better than older generation.
And I also have 2016 Tundra sr5 TRD off road I like it too but 2024 platinum is amazing, I hope that will stay that way.
Until it’s not.
Almost 7000 miles.
Only volume bottom fell off so far.😅
But I still enjoy to drive it.
The last of the good tundras , 2021.
I have a 2015 tundra I purchased at 120k miles, currently at 144k, never had transmission drained and filled. You think it’s okay to leave it alone since it’s never been serviced?
Get it serviced. Transmission fluid has a finite life. Particularly the detergent package. At this point it should have been serviced at least twice. You will find it shifting smoother after it is serviced.
@@pauldiesel4582 I don’t run the risk of creating issues now since it’s been neglected so long?
@@CoreyLoggins-mj7qy If you’re really worried you can just do a drain and fill once. Run it for awhile and see how it does. You are not getting it all out anyway, like a third. You will be freshening it up with new detergents , base fluid and other additives. If the fluid is somewhat red/ burgundy you should be OK for sure and the transmission is just very over due. Run this for a month and get the benefit of the fresh detergents cleaning up all the tiny passageways. I would repeat this 2 more times and you should see pretty much a blood red color of very clean fluid. I wouldn’t recommend having it power flushed. If it is brown to black it really needs servicing and I would do the same steps. Here you are verifying that the transmission is in dire need of a fluid change. There is a greater risk of transmission failure from bad fluid than somehow making it worse with new fluid anymore than if we were doing the same thing with engine oil that had been greatly neglected. We all would say change it right away. Toyota transmissions have a drain plug, an upper fill plug, and a level inspection plug so it is easier and less messy than most other trucks.
I have a '21 limited super white with TRD exhaust and cold air intake TRD Sway Bars, Bilstein 6112 and 5160's , TRD Pro Grill and surround, Alpharex LED headlights and taillights, Rigid Fogs, 20" wheels w/Nitto Ridge grapplers + more... and 9K miles... If they were getting $50K + for those plane janes mine is worth $60K 😁 Not For Sale!!! The "new" Tundras sound like sewing machines.
Lets talk retro for now on,2nd generation Tundra only!👍🏼💪🏼🇺🇸 Lost interest in the 3rd generation junk, but it sure looks sharp though.
Lol, there will always be 2nd gen talk, especially when im able to find them on the lot, 3rd gen as well. I never seem to find 1st gens but I would love to. All Tundras baby!
Wow prices are expensive down there I picked up my 2021 with 27,000 miles for $54000 CAD ( $39400 American ) I’m up in Edmonton Alberta to a high demand for trucks
Lets go Oilers!
Bought a 2018 Limited CM TRD Off-Road 4x4 w/sunroof, leather, JBL amped, etc.,20in wheels, 59000mi for 37K. Got it at a steal considering what the demand is going to be. Feeling blessed to have found it and never letting go
High demand for the 2nd gen million mile Tundras.
18 black and saddleback for me
Too bad they got rid of the transmission coolers after 2018…
So disappointed Toyo has gone backwards with their trucks.
I am currently trying to buy a 2015 trd off road in blue off of one of my coworkers with 43k miles and one owner he is offering to sell it to me for 33k is this a good deal
Yes that's a great deal specially since you saw a night edition going for close to 50k. Should take that off his hands
4 runners in a couple years will sell for crazy.
They’re doing that already.
They are selling FAST
So glad I traded in my POS 23 1794 for a 24 4tunner. Those new tundras are trash.
Toyota major mistake is they broke their own rule making their vehicles better thru time by not changing too many things. The 2021 Tundra is just too good.
The 1 milion mile Turck
I'm #1
Can these 2nd Gen 4x4 tow a 8,000+ RV trailer?
Rated to tow 10 000 pounds I think.
Absolutely.
Used 22-23 sr5 are getting less than 20-21 sr5 near me. These are the last real trucks you can get. No cylinder deactivation, no start stop, 430 rear end, adaptive cruise. Software that doesn’t spy on you, like the Reddit guys 2023 that reported his son driving it to insurance when he borrowed it. Twin turbo dime a dozen all are that now from on. Gen 2 get a real bed not a plastic pos with cheap Home Depot tie downs. Aisin 6 speed transmission 😊
If you really want your channel to grow, get a old clapped out high mileage 2nd Gen and do a “Lite Resto” You could probably get some sponsors to throw in some mods for you review!
I would love to! I cant afford one, you buying? 😁
@@TundraDude34 I’ve seen them between $8k-$10k..

$54K for a 3 year old SR5 is insane. People, we are being scammed. That truck wasn't that much new. That's as much as the Platinum was in 2021 brand new. Human behavior is comical.
It’s supply and demand though. The dollar has also gone to absolute s**t.
So when I’m looking at lower mileage 2019-2021 tundras for $45-50k I consider that a bullet worth biting when faced with the newer much more expensive options.
Lord god!!!
Stay away from the flex fuel tundras. Start issues. Oddly enough the start issues did not happen until later. Later, meaning like 6 year later. HMMMMM...
NOW that I am typing this " saying out loud" this issue did not start til after I got the truck paid off. I continued taking truck for service after paid off. Wonder if dealership had anything to do with that?? Like maybe they did something on purpose to make it have this issue to get me to trade and spend MO MONEY with them!!!???? I say this, cause for the first 6 years I had no issues. Anyways just my thoughts, not accessing anyone, just think why so long before issue started.
V8 FOR LIFE!!!

Only deal is that lease people dont keep up with maintenance
Thats a hardcore generalization. Im a big leaser and have always had all my maintenance taken care of. Same with my brother, father, friends etc
Well I didn't mean to hurt your feelings but usually leasers don't care about a truck they won't keep
Feelings aren’t hurt at all my man. Just never good to see an instance here and there and say all lease owners don’t take care of their trucks. Have a good evening!
@@TundraDude34 hey man I support your channel, no beef but for sure I know serious leasers and they do basic maintenance 10k miles oil change and barely anything else that an owner would do. It's not like leasers are bad people.

Tundra has one of the worst crash test
$54K for a returned lease Tundra? Wonder if it had oil changes and service on schedule? Otherwise you'll have a blown engine like the new Tundras.
Not all of them have the engine issue.
Why in the world would you turn in your 2021 tundra if your are leasing? Buy that thing and turn around sell it for profit!!!!
This is true! A lot of people don’t want the hassle. They just turn in the keys or drive off in a new ride
I got rid of my 2023. Tundra for a 4Runner. Toyota has lost their way. The 4Runner is the last good vehicle they make.

Huh? What's wrong with this channel .....? Do you know about the 100,000 plus recall of Tundras with 6 cyclinder engines and turbos? Many owners have to get new small block engines
Hi George. This video is about the 2nd gen Toyota Tundra (V8) and how the demand is up BECAUSE of the recent 3rd gen woes. If you want to see the recall related videos, go look at the last 15 days worth on videos (since May 30th when the recall was announced)
