Gerry Polci on drums singing lead, Don Ciccone on bass singing falsetto, Frankie Valli singing the bridge. Great song! 😍
We're they the original 4 Seasons?
Brilliant 🤩
@@sassymess7111i don't think so 🤔
@@sassymess7111 no, Gerry was Franki's SIl at the time. 3 of the originals are here. But one stopped performing to write.
@@robinfra52the only original here is Frankie Valli.
We were allowed to play music at work so when it was my turn, I put this song on you would not believe the reaction from the youngsters who never heard this. I became the most popular person at work that day…. They wanted more …Wow This was the music you grew up with.
Last year I saw the Steve Miller Band again. Half the audience was under 40 and they all were singing along and having a great time. Same when Tom Petty was still alive and when Rush was still touring. Great music knows no age limits.
I always took my daughter to the concerts with me. She loved winger, poison, styx, def leppard, etc
We were literally right up front with winger to where we couldn't tired his shoes if we wanted to. He even had his bass down for her to play. He got a kick out of her knowing so many songs. Her and reb kept hanging around each other being silly as hell. We still laugh about it. Seeing them again in Aug
Spread it everywhere!!!
Walk Like a Man, Who loves you baby, Dawn, Ragdoll
The song was written by one of the Four Seasons, Bob Gaudio. He wrote many of their hits and was a very successful songwriter. The movie Jersey Boys details how they got started and their rise and fall. Thanks for your great reaction. 👏👏🥰
Love this song. So talented ❤
This was such a popular song on the radio, one of those tunes constantly in rotation on the air. It takes me back to my childhood, thanks !
One of my favorite groups growing up in the 60's and 70's. LOVE your reactions!
I'm 61 years old and the 1st time I heard this song, I was 12 years old at the Y I played it on the jukebox. I fell in love with it!!❤
You gotta hear Frankie sing Beggin' . Floored me my first time hearing it.❤
4 Season my vibe started 1960 age 3 ,heard on radio!
This is MY JAM! They are heavily rotated on my playlist! I'm just so OLD SCHOOL! 💯💯💯
Frankie is still touring today. Saw him he sounds great!!!!!
Insomnia sucks but I discovered your reaction videos and they're awesome.
As teens we just liked the music did not analyse the words ,very innocent times,Frankie the main singer
Great song
This was a 4 season song that Frankie Valli was not the lead singer in. The lead was done by the drummer.
Fun Fact............Frankie Valli was in the Sopranos!
Benny Mardones - Into the Night Original Music Video LOL Let's get uncomfortable!
I'm here. Oh what a night 😂 More CCR please 🙏. Midnight Special live ❤ Peace out ✌️ ☮️
It is indeed about "the first time"....but in this instance it was a "working girl" paid for by the boys as a gift for Bob. Highly recommend the film version of Jersey Boys for a fascinating, entertaining study in life, the mob, music and fame. If you can get a chance to see the broadway tourig group musical....DO IT
Gerry Police still performs with a new group these songs
I believe the reason Gary was singing lead was that at that time period Frankie was experiencing throat problems and it was a way to take the burden off him until he was fully recovered.
Try Bobby Goldsboro’s SUMMER THE FIRST TIME.
Great music 🎼
Check out Who loves you by them. It's awesome.
Yes there could be sexual undertones but at that time in the sixties, most people were more innocent than people nowadays. Maybe not in their actions all the time but more often in their lyrics.
But the song was RELEASED IN 1976 I was 15
Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons were the backbone of the early 60s.
Yeah they were
Before stiffler's mom there was mrs. robinson. This song is more in the era of that particular lady
And one great song by Simon and Garfunkel!
Yes. Mrs Robinson by Simon and Garfunkel is a fun song. Mrs Robinson was "that" one. Lol.
Was thinking the same thing!
Mrs Robinson was darker & more calculating. Good song, but not this kind of of situation!
@@CJBW Certainly but I was only pointing out that Stiffler's Mom was not the first. This song has nothing to do with Cougars at all of course
In the musical Jersey Boys, about the group, one member was a virgin and the other members hire a lady of the evening for him.
We're going to see that June 5th.
lol!
Can't wait to see the show "Jersey Boys" on the Norwegian Cruise Line Bliss in the fall! The Four Seasons were one of my favorites in the 60s!
One of the BEST musicals ever! (not the movie version)
Just a classic, fun song. Great musicians. Great lyrics. And absolutely great vocals.
Trivia fact Frankie Valli suffers from Otosclerosis (an incurable disease) that caused him to lose 65% of his hearing, which at one point made it that he could not hear himself singing on stage and he sang from memory. He later had staples surgery which restored his hearing.
I did not know that!! Wow, that is incredible. Didn’t
think I could love Frankie more. Thanks for the info. ❤
Frankie’s voice can’t be mistaken with his high range. WHO LOVES YOU PRETTY BABY 1975 is a must!
Definitely!
This is one of those songs we run around singing as a kid that messes us up as adults 😂
Perfectly stated
😂😂😂😂 So true!
Frank Valli is STILL touring at age EIGHTY-NINE
Love Frankie Valli!
According to stories, Bob Gaudio - one of the OG seasons - wrote this song with his wife and it describes their first night together. Later on, during the Jersey Boys musical, it would be rewritten to describe Gaudio losing his virginity after he first joined the band.
UA-cam the video The Story Behind December '63. Bob Gaudio wrote the most inane lyrics to this song and the guys, according to Gerry himself said they would not ever sing it that way. Judy Parker sat down and came up with the lyrics you hear today on the song.
A couple of weeks ago, for Frankie's 90th birthday, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Long, long overdo. They all sing. Back in the 60s they stood on stage together and did choreo moves as they sang. When I saw this, I was surprised so many played instruments!
Took my mother and 8 other family members to see Jersey Boys on Broadway. Great song.
This was the last song and everyone was dancing.... Such a great song
Awesome show!!
I always thought it was about losing your v-card to a pro. "Didn't even know her name." " When she walked in the room." "Ended much too soon."
Two absolutely amazing solo Frankie Valli songs worth checking out: Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You, and My Eyes Adored You.
Might I suggest the song and video, WHO LOVES YOU by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons? Another great one to react to.
It ended much too soon. Always cracked the girls up 😂😂😂 We had no doubt
Great song, good reaction. Would like to see your reaction to Bobby Darin doing Mack The Knife. I think that would be interesting.
My parents married on December 31, 1963. They're still going strong. We always say this is their song! 😍
Considering that I was born in August 1964, I'm pretty sure I know what was happening with my parents about December 1963.😮
@@williamh4172 My older brother was born in June that same year! A little early 😉 lol
Saw Frankie Valli with his much younger Four Seasons in concert when he was eighty. His voice hadn't lost a single step.
I had a funny feeling when she walked into the room - I think it was instant attraction on his part.
Frankie Hallo & The 4 Seasons songs:
* "Lets Hang On"
* "Sherry"
* "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You"
* "Rag Doll"
* "My Eyes Adored You"
* "Walk Like A Man"
* "Big Girls Don't Cry"
* "Grease" ( from the movie)
These from their top 10 list. There was a Broadway musical written about them: "Jersey Boys"
My favorites are Sherry & Walk Like a Man
Walk Like A Man!!
I bought the record (45 rpm) when it was released and I still have it in my jukebox to this very day.
You have a Jukebox, very cool :)
@@paulrosebush9137 Yes, A restored Seeburg 220 jukebox from 1958. It was the last jukebox from Seeburg with a visible record change mechanism, and the first featuring stereo sound. The records play in a vertical position and there are two sets of needles depending on which side of the record is to be played.
@@torydz That's awesome!! First Stereo, amazing.
@@paulrosebush9137 I got it in 1999 and blew a transformer in it a few years ago. I have it in my gameroom and listen to it more than I thought I would.
Total classic and you can't not move to it! And I think the song "Grease" from the soundtrack to the movie brought Frankie Valli back in the late 70's. Always liked that song too.
I was imagined that it was a one-night stand. Not necessarily the person’s first time, but he remembers her fondly.
Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham “ when something is wrong with my baby” two of the best vocalists legends
The Hey hey it's Saturday version
I grew up in the 70s and I loved hard Rock and country, I know that sounds weird. That being said this is one of my all-time favorite songs it just brings a smile to my face every time I listen to it.
My Eyes Adored You is my favorite by far..but what memories!
This is okay, but it was one of their '70s hits when their career was winding down. To get the full effect of The Four Seasons, you really have to go back and listen to their '60s stuff. Fun fact: No artist charted more singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the 1960s than Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Here's a list of their '60s hits for you: "SHerry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Candy Girl," "Stay," "Rag Doll," "Let's Hang On," "Don't Think Twice" (released under the name "The Wonder Who"), "Working My Way Back to You," "Opus 17 (Don't You Worry 'Bout Me)," "I've Got You Under My Skin," "tell It To the Rain," "C'Mon Marianne." These were all great songs.
The Four Seasons songs worth a listen- Sherry, Big Girls Don't Cry, Walk Like a Man, Candy Girl, Dawn(Go Away), Rag Doll, Let's Hang On and Working My Way Back to You. Also for just Frankie Valli - Can't Take My Eyes Off of You, My Eyes Adored You and Grease.
One of my favorites from when i was younger and I'm 58 years old.
65 here! Yeah, this is an all-time groove!
Same age and this is one of my ‘happy’ songs lol
Was my favorite song back in 76 😉💯👍
You may be thinking about "Mrs. Robinson" a Song by Simon & Garfunkel
"not trying to be the dirty old guy", don't worry, the lyrics are not deceiving! lol my brother, you'd be surprised at the lyrics of MANY songs, people belt them out due to the tune and rhythm but never really pay attention to the words.
🤣right
I have loved and listened to this song since it was in the charts. I never ever questioned the lyrics, just thought it was about falling in love ha ha. I fell in love with Frankie when I saw him sing this. His voice 🥰
If you get a chance you should watch “Jersey Boys”. It is a Broadway musical and also a movie. Great show and it covers the evolution of these guys.
I’ve seen Frankie in concert back in the early 90’s. I was 10 and my parents were dragging me to another one of those stupid concerts they would go to. 😂 looking back on it now it was a special time in my life and I got an experience that a lot of kids my age never got
singing and drumming at the same time is pretty impressive!
Just like Phil Collins from Genesis, Don Henley from The Eagles, Karen Carpenter, heck, even Ringo sang lead sometimes.
@@kenf3539 yep and they're all impressive too
Don't forget Roger Taylor of Queen. Legendary.
@@conniewallace7529 without a doubt. Queen is my all-time favorite band.
You are 100% correct. The fact that he refers to her as a Lady suggests she is older. I always pictured it as at a big house party, where the cougar picks him for a few hours in the hosts’ bedroom and leaves him with a huge smile on his face. 😅
Your mind always goes “ there”. It could mean he fell in love. Love at first sight. Frankie Valley is a Jersey boy. There were five of them and he did most of the vocals. The others sang too. Remember, back up vocalists need to be able to sing too. Although Frankie was lead vocals, the harmony was their vibe. My older sister saw them in person and the five guys didn’t play instruments. It was more like a boy band.
The boys bought him (Bob Crewe) a working girl. That is the true story they sang about.
One of my favorite song
Saw them live in 1967. Always loved them.
That's awesome, Diana.
This is by far, my favorite Four Seasons tune. Gerry Polci was actually Franki Valli's son-in-law at the time of this video/recording. I just love it when the drummer is the main vocalist!
Like Karen Carpenter? Or Don Henley of The Eagles?
Oh graduated 1963. Love your reactionaries for 60, 70, 80,. I’m 78 and with some of your interpretations made me 😂❤
you gotta review who loves you by the four seasons. super funky hit
She walked in the room and he fell in love that's it
Billy Joel wrote "Uptown Girl" in the vein of Frankie Valli.
Frankie Valli is 90yrs old and still does concerts
This is a great song, can't go wrong with Frank Valli and The Four Seasons. I first heard them in the late 60's, Sherry Baby, Big Girls Don't Cry, Walk Like A Man, etc...!
Do yourself aBIG favor and watch "Jersey Boys". You'll learn how they got together. Lots of our lyrics had double entendres. Otherwise, it would not have gotten on the radio. I graduated in 1963!! Go, Boomers!
You have to listen to Walk like a Man it's a classic.
They could all sing! When they first started it was a big time for harmonies & they’d wear matching suits. Frankie Valli was the driving force and wrote most of the songs but every member was a talent. I remember when I was 13 they had a revival of their career with the monster hit Grease is the Word (written by Barry Gibb) from the Grease soundtrack. We all saw that movie multiple times and wore out the soundtrack. They also hit earlier hits on the also monster hit American Graffiti soundtrack.
Just like Freddie Mercury, it takes more than one singer to cover the range of notes that Frankie Valli sings. All By Him Self.
One of the best songs ever. Timeless, catchy, and a song to really move to.
Just love it! This and Del Shannon's Runaway just makes me feel good!
FRANKY V , ALSO SANG ALSO SANG GREACE IN THE moive Greace from 1978 The BEEGEES wrote Greace is the word For Franky ,v
All of his group can sing. People back in the day had to have talent cause they didnt have auto tune back then.
Oh my... and I sang this song around my parents. 🤦🏻♀️ Maybe sometimes it's better to never really listen to the lyrics. 😂
I was 16 in 1976 when this waz a very HOT HIT
'Who Loves You ', is just gorgeous.
that is a great song !!
Frankie Valli is singing backing vocals and lead vocals on the first bridge. Drummer Gerry Polci is the lead vocalist for the verses.
I think you are absolutely right BP! Late December 1963 I was 3 months old 😂😂 It’s a great song!❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
They don't go into a lot of detail, so that every guy can relate to the song and fill in their own details
ONE OF THE BEST VOICES !!!!! FRANKIE IS A G !!!
Pegasus, you are 40, you have kids and you don't know what it means that the funny feeling ended too soon? --- Methinks you know EXACTLY what he's talkng about, but if not, sometime in the next 20 years or so it is likely to become abundantly and embarrassingly clear.
‘Who loves you’ is another great track as well as “Beggin’” (you might recognise the version by Madcon)
This song is about the night he met his wife-to-be.
This is a party song !
What a LADY, what a night...... :) LJ
What a jam, absolute banger.
Dude if the lyrics dont come up when youre using the auto lyrics thing at the bottom then just shut it off at that point.
Yeah
This has always been my song... born late December 63
You should watch the Clint Eastwood director movie call the Jersey Boys about their life story, it was a Broadway play as well
A fave Song! It is about what you thought. I think the "Soda Fountain " scene, is about where he met the girl. His first, remembered night, with a girl he did not know.😊❤
Oh yes!!!! What a Night!! How I love this song!!! ❤😊Such a fun song, though!
Dude... don't over think it!!! It's a song about love at first sight and instant attraction! He calls her a "lady" which implies that she's classy and that there's a certain level of respect. She was so fabulous to be around and the time flew by leaving him wishing it would last longer and leaving a memory that would last forever.
Lol. Nice....but Nope.
Ha! He lost his virginity to a prostitute. That is what this song is about. It’s part of his story.
Yeah...nice and yes. Get outta the gutter. I was around when this came out.
I'll never get why you make it a big deal if you think a song is about a one night stand or first time sex.
Most of us back then got over giggling about those things in elementary school.
Reminds me of roller skating in the 6th grade. Awesome song!
You picked a good one with Frankie Valli and the four season... Great song from the 60's. Yes Frankie is sitting down on the bench.
You want to know what the Best Of Times Were? For Boomers, this was it. 4 Seasons, All American Classics.
It's a true story for millions
