Hey brother, just got one of these bad boys for Christmas and can't wait to try it out (other than the walking around the yard finding all the old coke cans 😂)
Thank you so much for making this video! I've been wanting to get into detecting for years, but never had the chance.
I've read through the manual, but without seeing it in action I had no idea what it was talking about, lol.
I'ma peruse your channel. I'm hoping you've got tons of videos so I can learn the technique!
    (Merry Christmas!)

Today I tried your coin mode on my Ultra with the SX24 coil. I set it up in Field mode because it's the one mode I never turn on much. Plus, it will save the setting when you turn the detector off. I went to a super trashy park today with bottle caps and pull tabs all over and laying right on top. Wow I was amazed at the number of coins I found today. In field mode you will get a real scratchy sound, or a hard hit. I did dig 6 bottle caps and 2 pull tabs, But also 64 coins in 3 hours. Best coin day ever.

I live in Southern New Jersey. I don't hunt in the water. I have been hunting for a long time mainly with Whites detectors. I have, but I don't find a lot of jewelry, gold or silver, where I live. I forgot to tell you I turned the Sensitivity up to 29 or 28 and found targets 6 inches deep @@southernrelics

This is a good program if you're getting burned out and tired of just digging junk, bottle caps and pull tabs. Helps you to get back out again. Sure, you're going to miss some good stuff. But the whole idea is to go out and have fun. Nobody said you're going to get rich. I know people that go to the New Jersey shore once a week and never find rings. Maybe nobody can afford expensive jewelry anymore.

I dig roman coins, all sizes and materials are always a mistery...

Brilliant!!! The Ultra is top of my list. I’d like a Gold hunter in the future like the Gold Bug 2 with its 71khz but the Ultra looks tops for me for now

Awesome! I really enjoy the Ultra. If you are looking at a gold machine in the future, check out the Nokta Gold Finder 2000 as well. It runs on 61 kHz and can grab some SMALL pieces of gold.
      Happy digging.

Curious, could different machines but same make and model be slightly different?

Are you talking about the Ultra vs the BT or Lite?

I totally get this, but doing this will definitely miss a ton of stuff! Better off just using the pre set coin mode. Leave that machine wide open! Always remember, if you notch out pull tabs, you lose out on silver trimes, half dimes, jewelry, that sort of thing.

Good to know. I won’t be doing this. I need to find something!! My fisher F22 has went wonky and I’m about to buy this one

@floridagirl8540 it’s a great detector. I’ve enjoyed the Simplex series ever since the original came out in 2019. But this new one is much more stable and is a little deeper as well.
      Good luck digging!!

Just ordered this detector. I’m finally moving up from harbor freight and dicks sporting goods detectors. Should have done the research and went with something better to begin with.

By discriminating, you lose the range, firstly, and secondly, the ID of the coins is actually spread over the entire scale, I found old thin silver with an ID of 24-25, so from 20 upwards you can find a coin, so it doesn't make sense

The purpose of the video was to show that the detector can be notched just like the old Garrett Ace/AT series detectors to what they call “coin mode.” As I said in the video, I don’t recommend it, but it’s to show others who only want to find coins that it is customizable. It is true that depth is lost when discriminating, and I made sure I communicated that to those who watched. But again, there are all different types of people who metal detect. Some (not many) only coin hunt, and this gives them the basic knowledge how they could set up their detector.
      Thank you for watching.
