Hey everyone! Hope you enjoy this video. i think I'm starting to get my groove in making these lore videos. I have decided to change up the format a little. instead of offering site updates and addressing several items in each video, I plan to focus on one idea at a time. The lore videos will present the item I've chosen to talk about only. That way fans who watch the video for that lore content wont' have to wait through a lot of site discussion they are not interested in. I will however, be posting site update videos where I discuss progress and premiere new content for The Land of Shadow website. I will create a new playlist for my first Website Update video coming soon. As always, let me know what you think in the comment section and post any ideas you have. Thanks for all your support of Mordor!
I was very curious about this topic so I googled it and came across your video, which wasn't just a perfect description of what I was looking for but took me on a whole atmospheric journey into Sauron's lair. I particularly love the calm, steady pacing of your video. I'll definitely be checking out your other videos! I hope you never stop making these. Thank you.
If we are going by the Movie Version of Barad Dur… No one can really confront the Eye of Sauron directly. Because the Window of the Eye has no visible Platforms to stand on. (At least i cant see them) There‘s probably a "door" somewhere leading directly to the Window. But i suppose its dangerous as hell even to go up there. 1. You’re literally directly under Sauron himself. 2. Im sure its very slippery up there. You can fall to your Death everywhere. 3. The fiery Heat. Obviously.
I love to see we watch the same guess about the nature of this magic Eye at top of the tower. I think its the mannifestation of his will, perfectly visible in the Unseen world but so evil that it can be seen in the real world but its like a mirage, a delusion that nakes your soul, with more poetry could fit perfectly well.
And Melkor's northern fortress that preceded it, Udûn/Utumno! Where the Balrogs were reared. Edit: he has a video on the concept of Udûn: ua-cam.com/video/m_Fv02Wpwkoh/v-deo.htmlttps://ua-cam.com/video/m_Fv02Wpwko/v-deo.html
I wonder what's actually inside this enormous 'skyscraper of Mordor'. Orcs with administrative jobs? Since Sauron is only situated on top as an eye, he obviously won't be able to enjoy any 'luxury castle' lifestyle in there. Nevertheless it looks like an extremely cool building, and its by far the most intimidating structure in the entire Tolkienverse.

Seconded!
Great video, really enjoyed it, new subscriber keep it up!
exactally what I came for. always wondered how he conjured an eye on the top of the tower. a good tolkien explanation i was expecting.
One of the things I was really looking forward to in Shadow of War was assaulting and climbing this epic tower. Major missed opportunity.
Really enjoyed this video, and will definitely be checking out more! You deserve more views, so I hope you continue making these 🙂
Thanks! Your encouragement gives me fuel to keep going!

The greatest fortress in Middle Earth

At first I read the thumbnail as “exploding Barad-Dûr” and immediately thought “oh, so like Frodo did?”
Good summary
I like to imagine it’s full of friendly people doing friendly activities
The dark fortress Angband should also be explored. 🔥

why didn't gandalf hire the american government to take down the tower?
This has to be the best comment I’ve seen in years. 👏🏻
