This channel is 2/2 and will probably be even more valuable to me and my organization. Best part, his speech and explanations are clear and concise. Those of you who are Sys Admins of the like, I highly recommend any of his content for your needs, especially when you are training new techs.
Wonderful explanations by Guru John.. It just shows the importance of finding the right expert to learn from. This is especially important as the UA-cam is flooded with mediocre quality of content on every topic! I've subscribed to this channel immediately as in my organisation we are diving in on a new project involving deep work on Active Directory, setting up trusts, etc 👍🏼
Hiiii I accidentally install window server 2919 on my laptop instead of virtual machine all I see is black screen is there a way to reinstall server and do it again thanks
I am a beginner and this video blended me from half knowledge about the Active Directory Domain Services to gain full knowledge and confidence. Helped me heaps in my assignment too. Thank you @ittaster.
Thank you for this tutorial, an IT director mentioned virtual box for lab set up during an interview to gain more experience with with windows server 2019 and that led me here, much appreciated.
Thanks Ronin! Virtual box is ideal for lab set up, and as you say a great way to gain experience! Snapshots come in handy too, allowing us to revert back to initial install and repeat installing roles etc.👍
This was very helpful. Haven't done this in a few years and now I must do this in my new job. You helped me so much to remember all the little thing in start.
Simple and straight to the point video, thank you for everything ! Im on my way to start in my IT career, have some Linux experience but everyone is asking for AD :D Again thank you !
After watch your video any one can be change their carrier 😉 to IT Field it's so simple and easy to follow as long as person know only English language very easy to understand! Thanks a lot 😀👍💐
Thank you, you helped us tremendously. Trying to study from home you made it more possible. We almost gave up. Cheers from Australia. Looking forward to the next video

Great video..Saved me hours gaining this knowledge from books and also helped me to get my first AD lab setup UP & Running... Do you also have a similar guide for ADFS ??
Worked well thanks. I also managed to join my client to the domain after watching ur video explaining how to join windows 10 pc to domain. But the problem is that my server and client both can't access Internet now until i set an alternate dns to 8.8.8.8 on client pc only then it can access internet, although it still shows no Internet connection on the bottom right.
Great stuff ittaster. You earned a new subscriber. Nice way of explaining... I did not get one thing in this video, what to do of those warnings? Will it be ignored or should we correct it before proceeding with the installation of the Active Directory Services. Please reply...
Hi, there are a number of warnings that appear when performing a brand new install of AD DS, for example DNS delegation. This is because the DNS server will be install for the first time during the process. The AD DS install wizard is used for other things also, for example adding child domains to a forest and additional domain controllers etc. It is however important the prerequisites check is successful. Hope this helps, thanks for your kind comments and also the sub! 👍
thanks for another great vid. Do you have a vid to explain how to add in another server to the domain? I have virtual machines so I'm planning to practice, practice, practice :)
Hi, unfortunately I don't at the moment. I think it would be a very useful subject to cover! I'll put it on the to do list.👍 Btw plenty of practice in the lab is a great way to learn. I wish you well!
This is really nice and I found it helpful. I will appreciate it if you could explain how to fix the password problem. After including upper case, lower case, symbol, and number I still get an error message that the password doesn't contain the listed items. pls, I need you or anyone here to help me with information on how to fix this problem asap. Thanks in anticipation for your help
Hello! I did de configuration, but after restarting, and logging in with the administrator user, I get a black screen. And in the log in screen, it shows that it is getting no internet.
Great help and have followed your tutorials 1 & 2 as a IT newbie, and a big thank you. Just a bit worried about going further because Server Manager on my device shows the NIC1 as my static IP address (which is the same as shown in the router GUI, and the same as shown in ipconfig) but when clicking the IP address and going to properties, Network Connections show Ethernet as Disabled and NIC1 as Unidentified network. Is that okay, or do I need to change something?
Hi, clicking the IPv4 address (Ethernet) in server manager will open 'network connections' and display the computer's network adapters. Any disabled network adapters will appear grey and should say disabled. If your test lab machine is a physical one, it's worth checking the NIC drivers are installed and working correctly. It's also worth checking NIC settings using command line with ipconfig /all this will list all adapters and their config. It's important to configure the correct adapter before moving on to install roles like ADDS. Hope this helps.
@@ittaster Thank you Jon. Truly appreciated. This is a physical server, that I hope (with a good deal of help from your lessons!) to get into operation, so that my old server with Windows Server 2008 can pass into retirement. So just to make sure I have understood, is what you're saying that it does not matter if the computer's network adapter for 'Ethernet' is greyed out, and disabled, like it is in 'network connections', so long as the NIC adapter I have configured has the IP address of the server, which it does, and its IP address is the same IP address that the NIC adapter is showing when I run ipconfig /all in cmd?
Hi, you may need to consider adjusting the IP addresses of the test server in your testing lab network. The server IP address will need to be on the same IP range as your router and also the default gateway will need to be configured (router). Hope this helps
How to get domain. Secondly, i am Software engineering student am interested in server's and networking. Need to build server for experiments. What is the role of domain, because i just tried to enter dummy domail GM.local on my windows 11 enterprise, but i was not found and error displayed, then why we use dummy domain if it doesn't work.
Hi, the role of the domain is to provide a a centrally managed network, a client/server model which is scalable. My video titled, 'Active Directory Domain Services For Beginners'gives an overview ua-cam.com/video/7uLhJ236VD8/v-deo.html The use of unofficial/dummy domain names in production environments is best avoided, they are mostly reserved for testing in a home lab etc. When installing and configuring the ADDS role on a server in the home test lab, check the server host name and the chosen domain name aren't conflicting. Hope this helps.

It's not something I've tried, but for a hosted Microsoft solution, Azure AD is another option to maybe look into.
