I use AD a lot as Exchange hybrid admin! Good tutorial!
Thank you! Yes! AD is one of my frequently used tools too
Thank you very much ,
Thank you very much for the interesting AD video. I have one comment about the service account. Microsoft recommends using Group Managed Service Accounts (gMSA). These have the advantage that the password is managed by Windows and is quite long and you can define the rhythm in which the password should be changed. There are two problems with an AD account as a service user: 1. the password for an AD account is rather insecure (usually only a few characters long). 2. if the password of the AD account is changed, the password must be changed everywhere where the AD account is used as a service user. This is not necessary with a gMSA. Thank you and have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks! Yes that is correct!! That's a better way to manage them. I'm probably gonna make another video about that on the hands-on activity portion of the series
thank you!
You're very welcome!!
Thank you so much sweetie.
Very educative video.
I really appreciate you.
You're very welcome!! I appreciate your feedback too!
Thanks !
You're welcome!
very helpfull, thank you for support
You're welcome! Glad it helped!!
Thanks for the tutorial video., 😊 moore such videos..
Welcome 😊 more videos to come!!
Thank you for this! I have an upcoming interview for a city job near me. Hoping to prep as much as I can by learning from your videos!!
Goodluck on your upcoming interview!! Yes the best way to prep is by doing the hands-on and practical stuff
This is great! I'm in the process of printing an ITX case and gonna use it with some spare hardware for Win22 Server stuff. These AD videos will come in handy ty \o/
Oh nice you got some Hardware!! Yeah it's great for server stuff!!
nice thanks for your sacrifices for all of us and thanks for englishing us
You're very welcome!! It's not easy but I will try to be consistent!
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌!!
Thanks for these videos. I'm in helpdesk but the company uses a different cloud Ad system so I don't have exposure to the default AD.
Also really enjoy the practical videos! I understand the what , but sometimes need to see the how, for it to click.
You're welcome!! Ah I see, we also use that version too but it's good to know how to build AD from scratch and all the other Windows features. More videos to come!! Glad you liked them!!
Good video East Charmer!
Glad you enjoyed it!! Thank you!!
Great job
Thank you so much!!
Galing!
Salamat!!
Good Lab 🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄
Many many thanks!!!
Hello! I’ve been watching your videos and love what you do. I just completed my first semester of BSc IT and was wondering if you could give me a roadmap/suggestions to get to your stream (e.g certifications) of work since IT is so vast. Many thanks xx
My pleasure!!
Very informative. Can you please make a video on AD with more advance services which are commonly used on daily basics
Yes! After I've covered all the basics, I'll make advanced features next
@@EastCharmer thanks a lot. All of those are very helpful for me. Keep it up
My personal opinion -
Lots of things should be covered earlier before starting the installation session -
1. IDA infrastructure by Microsoft.
2. Concept of Domain, Tree, forest, global catalog.
3. Concept of security principles, inheritance, ACLs in Microsoft.
4. Services related to active directory.
5. How the server and client interacts and the underlying networking Concept of it.
6. A brief about ntds.dit and sysvol.
7. Concept of name resolution and WINS + DNS.
THERE ARE LOT MORE LEFT...
My sugession is -
Check the active directory global exam prep book released by Microsoft, Books written by MARK MINASI & AD COOKBOOK.
This is entirely my personal openion.
You can check it or drop it...
Thanks for all of that but my channel only covers real world IT practice and home lab projects. there's already so many experts who have already covered that and will probably do it better than me and yeah as you mentioned there's already resources for that.
Is it really required for us to purchase Client Accese Licenses (CAL) if we are implementing Active Directory? Our organization currently have 120+ computers which needs to connect to the server mainly for the purpose of the daily operations using the locally hosted information system. Thanks
Yes if you're organization is doing things the correct way (legally), yes you have to buy CALs.
Hi Kabayan, Is finding a tech job in the US easy? Is it still in demand? Can you please make a vlog of it?
Hello musta? It is still very much in-demand pero mas competitive na ngayon compared to 5 years ago. I won't say it's easy getting a tech job but if you have the skills, it's doable
I guess when you set up a New password/Confirm Password for a User, and tick option "User must change password at next logon" you need to provide that password to a user before he/she can change it , right?
Yes that's correct! We provide a temporary password for them and they can change once they log in
Power shell or python which will be the best to learn for future in terms of system administration and devops
I'd say Python coz it's not dependent on any systems compared to powershell. But learning basic powershell and bash is also helpful.
Working with windows must know basic PowerShell commands etc.
I'm actually labbing this at home now. Group Policy is kicking my ass though! And the instructor told me to join a new server to a domain but they're on two different virtual machines and the server can't find the domain I created! I'm using Hyper-V.
To get your device to join the AD server you need to make sure your AD has a static IP address. Then on the device you are trying to join you need to go to Network and Sharing center, click your ethernet adapter and go to IPV4 then properties. Change DNS to static and input the AD servers IP address in the first field for DNS.
@@thepokemondusknoir Yes, I set all of that up. That was on the first VM. The instructor said to create a second VM, name it, gave us the static IP to give it, the dns address to give it, but said don't assign a default gateway cause we weren't trying to get out to the internet, then join the new server to the domain on the other VM.
@@thepokemondusknoir I will try that and get back to you cause he didn't say to do all of that.
@@matthewd84 that’s just based of my experience because I just recently created an AD server and joined a windows 10 workstation to it and today I did my GPUpdates and mapped a network drive for shared used.
@@thepokemondusknoir AD has static, 192.168.1.250, dns same, second server IP is .251, dns is .250, so it's the same as the AD domain IP. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Facing AD is my daily routine
Same here!!!
I want take your online class ma'am
I haven't finish making my class yet!! But I'll let you guys know when it's complete
@@EastCharmer I wish to work with you ma'am
