Deffguns are the best gun in Orks for one major reason. Literally any gun that isnt an Ork or Imperium gun can be a deff gun. Like yes, the gunz are supposed to be whatever you want them to be but for Shootas, Burnas and Mega Blastas there is at least some idea of what theyre supposed to look like. With a Deff Gun, the only qualitifaction that it needs is that the gun is bigger than the Boy holding it.
I got into Orks back in 3rd Edition, when Lootas had you directly steal the weapon options from Space Marine or Imperial Guard codexes, so you could have Orks with mortars, or heavy bolters, or _sniper rifles_ (still with Orky accuracy). They were the most customisable, eclectic, kit-bashed unit on the table. Along with looted vehicles also being directly stolen Imperial vehicles, they really sold the idea of an army of ramshackle scavengers and thievin' gitz. ...then the next edition they became the deffgun boyz we still have today, where every one of them has the same identical stat profile and visual silhouette, and everyone was very sad forever.

30:10 You don't know how high end lasers sound. Agun makes one boom as it goes off, and a scream as the shell ripped through the air forcing it out of the way at super sonic speeds before hitting something with a clang. Maybe a boom if it's explosive. A lascanon superheats air and the target until molecules break apart into atoms, a solid Line of explosion and noise as everything in a line explodes in high energy physics, and everyone gets to enjoy rolling thunder for a moment depending on how far you're shooting.
Re: Melta Pistols. They’re the 40k equivalent of a sawn-off shotgun. Impractical except at point-blank range, but when you need raw stopping power at close range in a compact form, it’s arguably the best.
I like the idea that the Old Ones were just really into playing Quake and Half Life when they were designing the Orks, so they programmed the meks with the ability to recreate the tele-frags from Quake and the Phys gun from HL2.

Orks had some crazier stuff back when the game was more random and GW didn't give a single toss about competitive games (or balance generally). The Shokk Attack Gun had "Strength: 2d6" and if you rolled 11 or 12, you then had to consult a table to see what went wrong. Sometimes that meant "it's resolved at Strength: Instant Death, no roll", sometimes that meant "the user explodes" or "The user instantly redeploys by Deep Strike". Sometimes it meant "the user is teleported into close combat with the target", and sometimes it meant "the snotling is just sprayed out as red paste. It's a low strength Template (ie flamer) weapon". I feel like their energy weapons (Zap/Blasta) should at least have a special "Zap-Boom" rule where, any time they kill something with Deadly Demise, it automatically triggers the deadly demise. Something a little bit silly and orky, but without replacing "the normal rules of the game" with a new random table to roll on.
The best part about the Deffstorm Mega Shoota is that it has a dedicated gunner on the back of it. It's not like a Knight's weapon, it's a goddamn *turret.*
for orks you got 2 design philosophies, something that makes a really big noise with a bigger explosion like your thump gun and rokkit launcha or something that's going to be zoggin funny like the tellyporta blasta or the burnas it's how everything should be made
The Zzzap gun was underrated. It fires a lightning bolt, and the best part is… the strength changes every time you shoot it. Ork weapons are best when they’re unpredictable.
I would love to see one of these episodes on Tau weapons, if only to hear about how the weird fish-cow-people have better plasma guns than the Imperium who've had 30,000 years of experience with em
Not sure if anyone else mentioned. But the pic for the zapp gun is actually the cannon. Pic shown for kannon was actually a big shoota. P.s. i image the zapp gun throws out lightning instead of lasers. Making substantially more exciting for orks.

The best part about the Deffstorm Mega Shoota is that it has a dedicated gunner on the back of it. It's not like a Knight's weapon, it's a goddamn *turret.*
I’d love to hear a tier list of not just tyranids guns, but what what of theirs you even consider a gun
for orks you got 2 design philosophies, something that makes a really big noise with a bigger explosion like your thump gun and rokkit launcha or something that's going to be zoggin funny like the tellyporta blasta or the burnas
it's how everything should be made
This is everything I wanted from a ranking of the ork weapons. Head empty, no thoughts, only dakka.
The other armies weapons can wait till after you've done a vehicles tier list for Orks. We're the most fun
Tuesday mornings are always the best whenever y’all upload!
This is in the top 3 best thumbnails, that shit is CRISPY
so here's the thing I love about stick bombs, and It's from the mike brooks orks novels, which is that if there's no good choppas on hand, Orks WILL use stick bombs as a club, knowing damn well there's a chance it goes off. explosive melee, how can you hate on it?
UA-cam Pleasantries, the Tellyport Blasta reminds me of the portal gun from portal, if it was on chaos drugs.
Worth mentioning that the 'thump gun' is the real life nickname of the M79 grenade launcher that the Ork weapon is based on.
Finally a video I won't skip through!
weapon tier lists are great. Honestly, I'd like a tyranid weapon bioform tier list if there's enough for them. eldar and necrons especially also are fun, and sound great
This episode was exactly what I needed today, thank you
definitely an enjoyable format and episode
Snazzgun being in S makes a lot of sense. Flash Gitz are a cool unit, there's a reason why a certain couple of blokes named their animation channel after an Ork unit when making 40k parodies and Space King.
"Looking at our asses..."
I am glad this is a podcast and not a stream or vod.
I would absolutely love for a video rating Skaven weapons
i do love your content and i am thankful you did an ORKTOBER vid
I'm loving these weapon videos, keep 'em comin' boyz!
Thinking quickly, the Ork Mek constructs a Kustom Shoota, using only some string, a squirrel and a Shoota.
I love the video topic and an down for the suggested continuations
Wonder what we'll see next, nids and tau are probably the two I'm most curious about seeing.
Zach Hazard special😂? Noice. Respect for that.❤
