- Appearing at Toyota’s 2018 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show display, Kevin Costner’s custom Tundra Platinum is a truck that was built to conquer the great outdoors.
“I was delighted to get a call from Kevin asking if we were interested in collaborating with some video content featuring the Tundra,” said Ed Laukes, group vice president - Toyota Division Marketing. “Kevin is an avid outdoorsman and is very particular about the equipment he uses. The fact that he identified the Tundra as being the best truck to fit his needs says a lot about our products.”
The Tundra has been outfitted with an array of custom equipment to tailor its use to Mr. Costner’s passion for nature and active outdoor lifestyle. The project fabrication and assembly were performed by Complete Customs of McKinney, Texas.
“Kevin was involved with the project from start to finish,” said Complete Customs owner and chief builder Shaun Freilich. “He had some drawings that he drew personally to convey his concept. I made some renderings based on his ideas, and then we flew out to his home to meet him and work out the final details.”
To enhance the Tundra’s utility and off-road capability, rugged new front and rear bumpers were fabricated from heavy-gauge steel. Both units integrate heavy-duty Warn winches and LED lighting bars and accents from Rigid Industries.
A new two-piece roof rack was designed, fabricated and affixed to the ARE V Series Truck Cap that encloses the bed. The rack extends over the Tundra’s cab and provides plenty of storage for all the necessities for outdoor adventuring, from jerry cans to camping supplies.
Additional upgrades include a TRD exhaust, 4.5-inch BDS suspension lift with Fox coilovers and shocks, 18-inch Method Race wheels with burly 35-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler tires, and N-Fab side steps that run the length of the cab. The interior was outfitted with a pair of Lock’er Down security safes, one under the rear seats and one at the center console, and the bed has been furnished with a Dometic dual-zone cooler for cold storage.
Along with supporting the actor’s personal adventures, the Tundra was also built to suit his family and includes TV monitors in the front-seat headrests and a padded sleeping area for the kids.
“He knew exactly what he wanted,” Freilich said. “He made it challenging, but it was also a blessing. Some guys will just throw crazy ideas at you and expect you to make it happen, but he was willing to work closely with us to make his vision a reality.”
Even prior to its showing at SEMA the Tundra has been put through its paces, towing Mr. Costner’s boat on fishing excursions at his Colorado ranch and accompanying him to on-location filming for Season Two of “Yellowstone” in Montana.
Kevin Costner’s custom Toyota Tundra-along with other Toyota specialty vehicles-can be found in the Toyota display booth (#24800) in Central Hall and on the Patio Annex of the Las Vegas Convention Center, October 30 - November 2, 2018. - Авто та транспорт
Dances with Toyotas
Lol

Alex Zabala jajajajaja
He's way too tall to drive a mini truck :-$
My beloved Landcruiser will turn 200k this Thanksgiving. Heading up to Prescott, AZ to see the folks, the dial will spin. Seats are worn, everything's a tad too "familiar"....but in 20+ horseless carriages I've never loved a vehicle the way I LOVE this truck. Bought my daughter a 4runner, and now she's an addict too.
Kevin is teaching his kids a valuable lesson. Trust reliability, reliability is trust.
OLD and new Toyota trucks and Land Cruisers are used all over the world. They are relied on in the most remote and wild places. Nothing else lasts like a Toyota.
Toyota trucks never die
I saw his truck at SEMA 2018 in the Toyota booth. Its awesome
I like what he said, "I don't know how to sell a car, but I know how to buy one". Toyota RULES.
The writer thanks you.
that's the cleanest outdoorsman truck I've ever seen.... But, Cudos to Kev for actually being a truck guy!
Looking good Kevin in the Tundra, Rock on! Peoples rude comments as you know doesn't matter!!! Your kids are adorable & awesome to see your hands on! Being a parent is the biggest blessing in the world!!!!
Toyota the best car maker in the world.
Take any truck and dump money in it, it'll do whatever you want it to. Anyway, nice ride Kevin, you earned it, very blessed family.
From Russia with love, Kevin! Very good car. I am from Siberia. Yakytia. This car very nice for our region of Russia.
My 2001 Tundra has 250,000 miles and counting, both engine and transmission are smooth and running like a new...
My 2000 is at 260,000. Just drove it 1,000 mile round trip for the holidaze and it didn't skip a beat.
My Dodge diesel has 468000 miles and runs fantastic on WVO.
@@andreinastase1235
But that diesel engine isn't made by Dodge. So...
this is one beautiful truck and i am so glad the owner used it for what it was intended to be use for unlike most pavement princess.
Duy Nguyen not all trucks are meant for off road, I have a Tundra, and I bought it to pull my bass boat, not to put big tires on it and go off-road, so I guess it’s a pavement princess. But, it pulls the hell out of my Bass Cat!
@@chief1193 your absolutely correct buddy! I was talking about the posers. The guys who have big lift, winch, and etc but never venture off a pavement.
@@chief1193 nah yours wouldn't be a pavement princess but it was designed to tow like a champ! still using it like a truck haha
I guess mines a pavement princess. I just love trucks. So comfortable. Idk what it is. But trucks are my passion. Would I love to do all that outdoor stuff. Hell yeah! Perhaps it's time.
Pavement princess, lol. I never heard that before. I'm a pavement princess lol. However I do look forward to the winters up here and always in 4 hi with my tundra.
the ol guys got that truck set right up. Nice job Kevin!!
Now that is good advertisment for toyota
Te amo Kevin! Mi hijo tiene tu nombre en honor a ti! Que Dios te bendiga un abrazo desde Honduras

What a beautiful shot 1:03 is, a trout jumping after a fly
Love that truck.kevin has the right idea.
I agree, I owned a 93 4Runner and it took me everywhere without any hiccups at all..

Bodyguard of-brilliant, live a hundred years!Greetings from Russia!
Awesome I like your truck.
Nothing like Toyota Tundra it’s such a pleasant truck to drive. The comfort of this vehicle is just amazing no other car can match.we had two tundras one was a 2007 model limited and the other was 2010 platinum crewmax, amazing truck the v8 sound of this truck is amazing. You did a great job choosing tundra it’s a reliable, powerful, comfortable and goodlooking truck compared to Ford F-150 and Nissan Titan.
A legend in a legend..
Enjoying a toyota like your suppose to. Like mine . Takes me were i want to go and brings me home. Great truck😍🇺🇸😎
Wow, nicely said Mr. Kevin Costner. It helped me decide what truck to purchase. I am going for Tundra instead of Tacoma. Thank you sir!

Крутой мужик Кевин Костнер
Well spoken common sense truck ownership. Way to be, sir.
Gorgeous, daddy!
I used TT 10 years, cool car, with compressor;))

When he mentioned where all the fun stuff goes I was sure we were gonna get a peek at the aftermarket overhead gerbil cage.
Nice truck , durable truck no Bs
Hola Kevin🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🐎👍🐎👍🇪🇦🐎👍🐎🇪🇦
If you build it, then Kevin Costner will stand on the tailgate and fly fish 🎣 in the middle of a river
Lmao!!!!
Ha ha 😃😅
How did he walk from the cab to the tailgate without getting his pants wet? he walks on water?
@@LouieSmithSenior rail step along the truck then stepped on rear tire and then on gate
@@LouieSmithSenior same question there. he jumps from rock to rock maybe :))
I love my tundra...best truck I ever had...WWG1WGA
Nice rig...
Yeah Kevin knows trucks and the Tundra works well for him....he knows he can rely on it in the outback for sure.
Anyone know what rack that was over the camper shell in the back?
My first generation 4 Runner...289,XXX...
Anyone having the TSS malfunction after lifting their tundra? I wonder if Kevin had the issue?
unexpectibl. kevin, i find u from other side. nice.
реально японцы оказались надёжными партнёрами сша
it would be nice if toyota throws in their version of a twin turbo v6 in the tundra.
I’m getting a Tundra now!!!But keeping my Dodge Ram.
👌🏻 TOP
Kevin I followed you all my life since the postman I like Toyota and have a very good story from Austin TX to kerrville ever Moment since then Toyota but chevy may be a bit more impressing... stores and actual life experience may change your mind. Even enough ones ford and chevy are like good and evil one is gonna pravale
oooooohhhhh YYOOOOO YYYOOO TOYYYBLOWWWYA...TURDRAAAAA
Hey Kevin. What bumpers are those?
They need to make a 3/4 ton. I bet those would take over also.
Drop bracket lift?
Funny he said they asked me if i would talk about it. I bet he didnt think that meant a film crew shooting a short film of him working and playing in the outdoors.that just cost them a lifetime of toyotas, but it was worth it.
Toyota belts great trucks we all know that.
Lo mejor
Can anyone tell me the song title!
Good commercial. I didn't mind watching it at all even though I could not care less about the product. 😊
Why is the intro music so freakin loud?
tundra - best half ton (in terms of reliability)
hilux - best world wide truck
land cruiser - best suv in the world (besides america because we are idiots that care about badging)
Don't leave out the Tacoma!
@@benson556 its hilux
If you have 55k and you think going and buying a gas half ton truck is a good deal, then I don’t have to many nice things to say about your thinking or knowledge about trucks...when same 55k will get me a 3500 mega cab Cummins diesel who happens to run over 1 mil miles and pull me over 60.000lbs...but don’t mind me,I’m just saying
I’ve owned my Landcruiser, new since 1998 and nothing has broken yet on the thing. I don’t know why I’ve had such luck with it,It’s scary .....
Tundra, they lack power compared to the big 3 is my only beef
Song?
does Kevin still drive this?
What happens to US cars?
Drive to Yellowstone.
Not a fan of Toyota but nice to see Kevin.
My 06 Nissan Titan bullet proof 242k Miles
Nice truck, but did you really buy it?
👍
TOYOTA ALL THE WAY👍🏻👍🏻
Considering he's an American bad ass he should be driving a bad ass American truck.
It's a Billy Chapel role. :)
Gorgeous daddy
I think he made a lot of money.
bro it's kevin costner legendary actor
jim k what gave it away? The expensive truck of the fact the whole video was probably all of his property. Haha
@cisa93 Marketing.......... marketing........ chances are he dont even own it, drives a Ford........
@@garylaubscher4487 nope it's his...Kevin lives in Ventura county here in southern cali. My buddy is his ins agent at AAA and he owns mostly Toyota trucks, a few exotics and some classic muscle. I saw him last year in a white brand new Tacoma TRD Pro.
@@albertcampos959 okay then He should have bought Toyota landcruiser 70 series the beast.☺
Very cool truck. Don't run the winch hook on the cable Kevin, that's a no-no.
what time in the vid are you talking about and why not?? If I ever have a truck with a winch, I don't want to be doing no no's.
Tom Hall :41. Never put the hook back onto the cable. When you addd the force of winching the truck, the hook will cut right through that cable and now you have a steel whip with lots of energy that could really hurt someone. Put a tree strap around it and hook, from the bottom up, onto that. Always hook from the bottom up so if it or the tree strap would break, it will go toward the ground. Hook from the top and it breaks and it’ll fly up
@@zebratruck Thanks for the info. Probably something a lot more people should know.
I still can’t understand why no diff-lock. How can you have an “off-road” addition of a truck and it not have lockers
Would you believe the ATRAC system works fairly well?
All depends on the type of wheeling you do. Hardcore enthusiasts believe a locker is paramount, however for overlanding for example an LSD would be more than enough for most situations. All depends on build and use. Mindlessly throwing lockers on a truck that never uses it is as wasteful. Thats not a good build. Builds are use case specific.
vidurc not necessarily. My Ford came stock with a rear locking differential and I find it quite useful when 4 wheel drive isn’t absolutely needed. It’s also made quite a difference in the mud which I unfortunately have to navigate through in my line of work. Im not bashing the tundra as it’s a good truck. I had one.
@@kingrider75 right and it works for some drivers use. Personally ive had both and so far atrac has been more than enough. When i had it I certainly used it which was fun. But now eh.. Just depends.
If you want one bad enough you can get one installed.
What’s wrong with the people who dislike this video 🤦♂️
How much $$$$$$?
If you drive it, they will run.
Now only if they had a turbodiesel mod.
