- Appearing at Toyota’s 2018 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show display, Kevin Costner’s custom Tundra Platinum is a truck that was built to conquer the great outdoors.
“I was delighted to get a call from Kevin asking if we were interested in collaborating with some video content featuring the Tundra,” said Ed Laukes, group vice president - Toyota Division Marketing. “Kevin is an avid outdoorsman and is very particular about the equipment he uses. The fact that he identified the Tundra as being the best truck to fit his needs says a lot about our products.”
The Tundra has been outfitted with an array of custom equipment to tailor its use to Mr. Costner’s passion for nature and active outdoor lifestyle. The project fabrication and assembly were performed by Complete Customs of McKinney, Texas.
“Kevin was involved with the project from start to finish,” said Complete Customs owner and chief builder Shaun Freilich. “He had some drawings that he drew personally to convey his concept. I made some renderings based on his ideas, and then we flew out to his home to meet him and work out the final details.”

Instant thumbs up for Mr. Costner. Not only does he seem like a nice guy on screen but he truly is.
My friends bumped into him recently in a restaurant, and an overly enthusiastic mother-in-law insisted on taking a picture with him, and though it was probably extremely disruptive he was the friendliest warmest man you can imagine.

Dances with Wolves... In Poland we had it in cinemas in 1991, so that was 2 years after we finally regained democracy. My father got the tickets for all of us and we went to see this absolutely magical movie. I was 10 and passionate about native American Indians. If I had to name only one movie that had the strongest impact on my whole life, it's definitely this one. Freedom, demons of the past, traveling, nature, brotherhood, hope and love - it's all there painted so vividly. Almost 30 years later and every time I watch it again it brings me back there to that very special moment when me and my whole family were together watching this wonderful tale.
Kevin Costner created a masterpiece and I simply love him for that.

lol you hardly notice you save up buy one part at a time. Buy using offerup and Craigslist people get older and stop going outdoors then you can benefit from it. I have bought a roof rack for $120 a warn rear bumper with tire carrier for $220 you’ll be amazed at the deals you get. Talk to people if the click they’ll help you out with prices, it still amazes me how generous people are.

KReGaDeTH it’s all in your attitude and how you interact with people my coworker has about 9 grand of accessories yet he’s only spent $2500 his people skills are way better then mine. He got a poison spider bumper that cost $1800 for about $100 cuz it had a dent.

If you live in a southern state that stays sunny and hot almost year round I’d reconsider the black color, any dark color is going to get hotter on the inside then white, silver or any other light color!! I’m from Texas and I’d never get a black vehicle, I’ve had 2 charcoal grey trucks, my last Tundra and a Chevy Silverado back before I discovered Tundras, and those were hot enough, I love my white Tundra I currently have!!!
I still have my old '00 Limited Tundra TRD off road I bought brand new. Never getting rid of it. It's been a damn good truck and still is. Plus I can't afford a $45k - $50k truck. Lol
cydonianman, I'm with you. My '06 TRD has just passed 260K, and it always brings me home. I've had guys who owned the newer ones tell me they're fine,, but the miss the 1st gen.
my dad just got done paying off his tacoma this year, he got fed up making monthly payment and made a lump some $30,000 on top of what he owe. Those car payments ain’t no joke
Traded my 05 tundra in for a 2016 a year ago. The 16s a beautiful truck (and so far so good) but there was a level of quality in the 05 I don't feel in the 16. Hope I'm wrong ...Only time will tell if in correct.

I like Keven Costner, he's my exact age, and is into the same outdoor stuff that I am, Im retired Recon Marine, so I love the desert, and camping in the desert, I don't have his deep pockets, but I have a beautiful 2020 Silverado all terrain, love this lifestyle, SO DOES MY WIFE.
Costner is my spirit animal....my much, much richer spirit animal...

Tundras have always been cool... where have you been?
Tundras are not only cool and have been, but they’re extremely safe(as my 2012 kept me safe & without a scratch when I totaled it 2yrs ago), very comfortable, spacious, can haul and tow a lot, are awesome to drive; the only 1 possible 2 drawbacks to a Tundra are that it does use up the gas if you drive like I do which is 90-nothing everywhere you go, and the ride at times can be a little rough but it’s a truck what can you expect!!

You need to do something about the volume on your channel. While I can hear other channels without issue I can barely hear you.
I built a 1993 Isuzu Rodeo in 2000 that would give that Toyota fits. Not your average Isuzu.
It has Marlin Crawler dual transfer cases with 2:28 and 4:07 reduction gears, and a Tacoma 5 speed tranmission. This gives me 20 forward and 4 reverses in 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive! 4 shifters in the drivers compartment. A Toy Straight axle in Front and Full FLoating Isuzu Dana rearend with ARB's in both ends. Plus all 4 corners have Superwinch manual Hubs. And a removable RV type tow bar with air brakes.
I carry a 17' Jocassee Kayak and 2 mountan bikes on the LED lightbarred equipped Roof rack. Inisde is an 8 point internal roll cage with a rifle rack, and a 2 meter ham radio in the headliner. My 12 volt freezer slides out the back and my propane camp stove hangs off the rear spare tire rack, where I carry a Military Gas Can style drink cooler and a water can. There's also a small sink and food prep table that be added to the tire carrier. Along with a 12volt ARB air compressor and a 3 gallon air tank mounted behind and under the spare tire. There's a full mosquito netting sock for the rearend and passenger doors so I can roll the windows down to sleep inside with a breeze and no bugs. I don't carry fuel cans on any racks hanging outside my truck because I have a second fuel tank under the truck on the passengers side between the drive shaft and frame. Both drive shafts are long slip and are interchangeable front to rear. Lots of other stuff, and I still drive it a lot. And the best part is it looks almost new, aside from a few dents from Moab Utah rock crawling. Anyway, forgive the bragging. I built it all by myself (without sponsors throwing parts or money at me) and I have nowhere near the money Kevin has. His is a cool truck, for a checkbook truck. Shame I can't post a picture of my Rodeo. Maybe I'll drag it behind my motorhome to SEMA one of these days to show it off. Love being able to anywhere.

Roof racks that hold your boat are normal in Australia - I know because I have been there and seen them. Kayak is about the biggest thing you see on a roof in Europe though.
