After 45 years of cover bands (and I have some experience), we learnt the lesson. If you play extremely well you can be a 99% Banks or Collins. Or even a 100% Hackett (like here). But you cannot be more than 10% of Gabriel. He is simply too textured, too multi depth, too rich to be copied.
@@furiobisotti8150eter Gabriel’s voice isn’t a beautiful voice but it sure does get the emotions through and it also has more depth than Collins (also compared to Collins voice he controls the deeper tones much better)or anybody’s voice which fits perfectly for this kind of music
@@furiobisotti8150It's slightly unfair to compare Nad to Peter's studio performance. But compare it to how Peter did it live and Nad doesn't sound so bad... Peter, like Phil after him, didn't hold the words of the title as long as on the album. Nad does here.
Semplicemente splendida ora andrò a vedere steve, nad sylvan e band.
Everybody else in the band is perfect, but it must be said out loud that Nad Sylvan is the greatest singer in the world today. He enunciates his words so understandably and so perfectly but naturally gestures with his hands to underline the semantics of the story he is telling that it is a performance that really deserves this kind of gushing. He's great!
I was just listening to oldies radio in my car and they played "On Broadway" by the Drifters. When I got home and looked at UA-cam, this great song popped up. I'm taking it as a sign.
This brings back such amazing memories of music past only to be reborn into a new generation but I’ll still save all of my 8-tracks of Genesis as memories of a Great Progressive Rock Band who’s Music lives on.
Gracias.
Brilliant - great guitar work as always and Nad's vocal is fantastic - hopefully will receive my signed copy tomorrow - takes a wee bit longer to get to North East Scotland😁🎶🎸
Nad's vocal sounds good here but at all the gigs I've seen he is the weakest link in the band...maybe the heavy touring schedule Steve does takes its toll. Will have to try and catch him early in a tour to see if any better
can't beat the original! it's not that i am stuck in the past - but 1970-75 was a sacred time for this music, and it is what it is - untouchable! can re-sing it with different people, like a group doing old Beatles numbers - but it's never the same. nice bass and drums
Absolutely spot on ....10000% better than anything ,the money 💰 grabbing Bathchair Collins Roadshow could perform....This band and Steve takes me back to Empire Pool 1975 and The Lamb with Peter G.....DeMontford Hall in October cannot come soon enough..Brilliant👍
Yes, this is really well done (I saw Hackett and this band perform it in Colorado last May as part of the 'Seconds Out' tour), but it honestly pales compared to the performance by 'The Musical Box' who I saw the entire Lamb concert in Quebec City last week. It was honestly like I went through a time machine and saw the Gabriel led Genesis performing it in 1974!
Nice and fun and all. Thanks Steve. But seriously at this point I'd personally stump up the dosh to see a lineup of Hackett, Rutherford, Wilson, Nic Collins and Mark Kelly on keys doing a selection covering 71 to 77 material. Or Rutherford, Wilson, Drennan, Zidkyahu or Nic Collins and Mark Kelly doing a selection covering 78 to 97. Either one would be nice.
This must have been very "produced" as Nad didn't sound like this at the gig I saw. He's an OK singer, when he's on form he's good but when he's struggling it doesn't sound great
The drummer is absolutely wonderful. Omg.

Brilliant ! Steve Hackett and his band just nail it every time !
Wow. I hold the original version in such high esteem that I wasn't sure if I wanted to hear this. Blown away. Thanks, Steve. AMAZING VERSION!!!
I love how Nad can do both Peter and Phil justice (and also, in this case, Phil singing Peter's song). Flexibility, he has it.
Fantastic singer
To me, Nad's voice sounds like a blend of Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins, which is perfect for this band!
@@Paul71H yup. With a milk bubble in his throat.
Not just Peter and Phil, but Peter Hicks, Richie Havens and Paul Carrack too!
Bloody hell! The right voice is so important for this stuff - this guy is just perfect. What a singer!
What a band..thank you ..steve for putting this together..and keeping the holy prog flame alive
All Genesis album with Hackett on are very good 😋
Awesome! Signature Hackett influence and sound on the Best years of Genesis!
I love this music so much !!!!
Wow, Nad nailed this performance.
The lamb is up on all fours and applauding - bravo.
The last 30 seconds took my breath away. That was so good!!
It’s almost like the original was written for THIS band to perform it. Amazing

Magnifique ! Quel morceau extraordinaire du légendaire Genesis...!
Love it! The marvellous Hackett band. Big up yourselves 🎵
Genesis is some of the best in modern music.
Absolutely brilliant. Nad on point as ever. Incredible rendition. Bravo!

Saw Steve last night performing all of Foxtrot. Gave me goosebumps. Fantastic band.
Steve is GENESIS
The best Genesis voice since Gabriel.
True.
Gabriel was the best in that old stuff, but, I think Collins followed suit on the newer stuff
Stunning!
Bravo!

Parabéns.

Not track 1 of the concert tho.

it is like nearly the original from genesis
Holy crap that singer sounds so similar to peter :O
TLLDOB is really the best Genesis (Gabriel Era) album for many fans, but not for me... I prefer Nursery, Foxtrot and SEBTP!
Joe Satriani on tambourine !
Check out the Band Geeks' cover of this song. It's really good. The drummer is fantastic.
I've never heard this man play a riff.
Only the studio album with the whole band is still better than this... amazing !
Very good, very enjoyable, but nobody sounds quite like Gabriel.
I never liked Phil Collins version with repeating Down, down, down ... Better Gabriels with only one Down. Nad Sylvan does both.
Brilliant, but I feel he should have taken it down a semitone or two - for the vocalist’s sake.
Steve, is that you Geezer??
