I've been an avid fan of Genesis for 50 years. Exceptional performance by exceptional musicians. The Lamb is one of my favourite Genesis projects and the courage by these musicians to attempt and pull off this tribute with such aplomb is to be commended. Loved their discipline.
bro the pianist was awful
But still, the piano player can't keep up with the melody, and Trainor falsifies it just a bit. :)
..Outside the cage, I see my brother John... complimenti, ragazzi, bellissimo lavoro!
It is quite good.
It's not like they're muppets, they're's no singer mimics like most of the cover bands do. I like the singer, he does not act like he's Peter Gabriel. He sings the damn thing. That's it. He's not faking it.
The musicians are amazing. The backing vocals are great.
Bravo messieurs dames.
True honnest stuff. I love it.
HOW COME WE NEVER GET ANYTHING LIKE THIS IN THE NORTH OF ENGLAND.......GREAT PERFORMANCE GUY"S, MUCH ENJOYED TIME AND TIME AGAIN ...THANK GOD FOR THE INTERNET........
You do. Musical Box toured the Lamb in the UK a few years ago (with costumes and the original slide show), including the north of England.
Very, very impressive, this is a hell of a piece for any vocalist. Excellent performance by All!! 😎✌
As an expert on genesis this was very good , spot on
What a great performance.
Thank you for such emotional pleasure!!!
Please let us know if we can see this spectacular show again in live.
Simply excellent. cheers from Venezuela
The percussionist is fabulous…one of my favourite albums..Really enjoy listening to this.
Genesis with Peter Gabriel were in a league of their own…
Wow, thanks so much-- that's me on percussion! You just made my whole night. 💗 Thanks so much for watching!
Excelente Cover gracias por compartirlo. Saludos desde Venezuela.Excellent Cover thanks for sharing. Greetings from Venezuela
Wonderful tribute to a giant masterpiece of the great Genesis !
With "The Lamb" being the most influential piece of music in my life, needless to say, I am very critical of any attempts to reproduce it but I must say, this was spectacular!
My Favorite album of all time! Excellent rendition!...glad I discovered you guys.
There's a bunch of people queuing in the rain at the bus stop outside my window who look more like rock musicians than these people. Brilliant!
Saw this live in DEC-74 in NYC at the Academy of Music. I worked at a radio station when we received this as a promo album. Nobody had any idea what to expect….and neither did I. From the visuals of ‘In the Cage’ to the emergence of Doctor Diper and The Slipperman, a night filled with indelible images and Enossified sounds. Thank you Rock Orchestra for reviving those memories and showing a glimpse to modern ears of the sounds of Genesis. Thank You! Thank You!
I was there! One of my most memorable shows ever!
Best covering for the best album!!
That is probably the best live vocal delivery of this album that I've ever heard.
This album was my companion for my exams at the vocational school in 1976.
And now, after 45 years there is this fantastic live concert. Brilliant musicians, outstanding performance. Thanks for that.
Greetings and all the best from Austria!
Servuß, und vielen Dank!!
This is an AWESOME video, performing The Lamb. Must see & listen !!
My God...his voice is fantastic! While I've heard at least a dozen professional singers try to do Gabriel, especially those that have sung for Steve Hackett over the years...this may be my favorite voice of all. He's not trying to "overdo" it or impersonate...downright pleasant. Great job...band is great, too. The gals backing him up blend in perfectly. I've got to look these guys up...
Heroes!!!❤
Like others, I clicked and didn’t expect to stay long.
And here I am nearly 2 hours later.
Awesome 👏👏👏👏👏
Excellent !
!!!!!!
Terrific Lamb!!! And then, why not, let's just throw in Firth of Fifth as an encore for the hell of it. I'm not a musician but I can only imagine how long this took to practice. Well done!!!! TY YT algorithm for putting this in front of me too!!!
Fantastic... as one of my all time favourite albums this was enjoyable... every single moment of it
Muchas gracias por revivir esta maravillosa música.....años 70, Génesis, Yes, gente giant, jethro tull.. Etc
I haven´t listened to this record in many years, it´s strange, having trouble remembering what I did yesterday but find myself singing along to the songs of this fantastic album, remembering almost everything! Was even in a band many years ago, we played different symphonic covers, the name of the band? Grand Parade....... named after one of the songs on this record. But these guys, I mean wow, really great performance!
Bravo..I enjoyed the performance. Great production value with each element at the right balance.
I saw Genesis perform this back in 1975 in a spectacular show that ended with a bang (literally), and I have longed to see a live performance of it ever since. I guess this is as good as it gets these days. Impressive and very daring!
Nice!! Wish I could cover Genesis like that. Brilliant work!! Great album, great band. Nice tribute.
I have a tat on my left outer forearm of Genesis The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, in the same exact font as the album cover.....
🚬😎
The peak of Genesis - well done!
staggeringly good.
This was awesome, really amazing job. I also didn't expect to stick around for more than a minute, but couldn't turn it off. Thanks for sharing!
Well done guys! That was fabulous! You don't look like the most 'rock n roll' bunch, but you really did this classic album justice, Great job, you are all very talented.
I am a genesis fan from the frist day they exist and this performance is wonderful, beautiful and spot on!
I've been a Genesis fan from 40 years, These musicians are really great!!! Congrats!, Bravo!!!
Fantastic ! People do perhaps not recognize how extremly difficult it is to play these songs, especially the timing; and you did it with a certain ease and freshness
A simply wonderful performance of ‘The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway’. My favourite album from my favourite era of my favourite band. Considering that ‘The Rock Orchestra’ don’t merely play Genesis’s music, I feel it is churlish to nitpick them on technical details. They are not a tribute band and deserve a huge applause.
WTF is this ? i fell on this quite by chance. And as a great Genesis fan, i was curious to hear that. And i put that on my TV and there i was lying down on Broadway till the end back on the sea front of England or more precisely Scotland ( firth of Forth). What a great performance !! As i see, you are american and no really a chance to see you live. But it would have been great. Thanks for the video !! and making Genesis great music of that time , live.
I am totally blown away by this performance. My goodness, what I treat I just witnessed. Bravoooooooooo!
Bravo!
Such an ambitious undertaking. Well, done....but now I realize even more than I did before, Genesis was genius. Those close harmonies are so difficult to pull off. Yet the music is wonderfully on point. Joe Trainor's vocals are surprisingly effective (Peter Gabriel is a one of kind) and Matt Urban got Phil's subtle jazzy drumming down quite well. Brian O' Sullivan held his own on Tony Banks keyboard shredding. And of course the bass plays a key roll throughout, while percussion has a huge task. Oh, and the guitars are so important and do no let us down. This takes a special ensemble. Amazing rendition of one of the masterworks of the 20th century. (as others have said I had no intention of staying for the whole thing, but this is spellbinding)
Astonishing recreation. The best I have ever seen. Wonderful voice and players. My sincerest congratulations.
Made my boring lockdown afternoon in Glasgow bearable thanks 👍👍👍
Wow, wasn't expecting such a great performance of Lamb..Awesome 👍👍.Best wishes from Kent, UK.❣
Saw the Musical Box do this album and thought it couldn’t get any better. This is easily on par with that show. Great job
21:00 The Grand Parade of lifeless packaging was sublime...The illustrated version makes that part so profound. The percussionist did an amazing job as did all the musicians...
Fantastic job all of you!
Thanks youtube for allowing me to see marvelous shit like this with a single click. What an epic performance, total up-to-the-challenge with the epic The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway album
You guys are the real deal and u do this just for love of the music. Outstanding. I used to also have a job but am retired and now and concentrate on my internet radio show. We are a non-profit (like u), educational station- no commercials- complete freedom to play anything I want- only requirement is that I stop on the hour for station ID and to mention our underwriters. We are all volunteers and are not paid. I recorded this show, edited it to one hour and intend to play it this Friday night. You guys should be heard by more people. I assume u have no problem with this as it promotes your music and there is no money involved. Thanks for sharing this incredible endeavor. It almost gives me hope for humanity. Almost.
Hey Mark - this is fine. Let us know when you plan to air the show - we'd love to listen in and help promote that it's happening!
Julian Assange is a decent Peter Gabriel impersonator. Who knew? 🤣🤣
Nah - it's Leroy Jethro Gibbs
Mix of Assange and Orban 😁
The singing is a great alternative to the original! Wow. With a softer voice.
Great performance. I was lucky enough to see Genesis do this in the Usher Hall Edinburgh in 1975 on recommendation of a friend (good man!) and was blown away by their show. I saw The Musical Box do Lamb in London back in 2013 and that brought it all back to me, after all those years. Thanks to all the bands keeping this alive and doing such a good job of it. Hopefully The Musical Box will be able to perform the Lamb in the Usher Hall in Feb and I'll have gone full circle. Thanks again for a great rendition.
Well.. That is the first time I have seen the Lamb live performance from the start to finish....You all must have practiced very hard to achieve this....You did this brilliantly and the lead singer was incredible...Even Peter Gabriel couldnt come close to this...Every Genesis fan needs to see this...In fact the whole world needs to see it!!!! 10 out of 10..Will watch it again
Michael, thank you SO MUCH for your comments! This is a piece of music that is very close to our hearts. We put a lot of time and care into reproducing it, and we are very glad that you enjoyed what we were able to put together. Spread the word!!
Can’t compare this to Gabriel 😂
@@aladdinsane1220 I agree with you on that point as far as the studio recording goes.....Gabriel was fantastic but from the limited videos that I have of the LAMB live he want able to perform this very complex piece anywhere near the album version..He would have performed better nowadays with the superior sound equipment we have today....I thought this band performed this brilliant album really well and the lead singer hit all the notes even though his didnt sound like Peter....I feel that the more times you watch this the more it can be appreciated..I do feel that they captured the essence and mood of the album.. They have to be given credit for this
I love Genesis since 1973,i was 15,i saw their concerts,i love the Lamb, that i still listen to at my age of 63 ,but you are really amazing.
You took the words out of my mouth...well..you know what i mean..✌.....
@@claxton1959 i was born in 1958, great year to be born.
@ me..in '59👍
Fantastic recreation of that classic album. So much dedication and hard work to accomplish this. If you brought this to Montreal you could fill a stadium !!
Thank you!!
I would drive 2 states away to see this concert
This is absolutely excellent - what a great treat for us Lamb fans. Thanks for posting!
Well we know that the lamb concert was never filmed but this has to be the next best thing . excellent
Wow big Genesis fan here. They did an impeccable job on this! What great talent for this fine piece of work! Bravo 👏
Wow! Such a faithful but unique rendition. Can’t wait to treat myself to a viewing on the big tv, soundbar, sub woofer and the mrs at her mates house! Thank you so much!
That's the way to do it! Enjoy!!
This is one of the best covers I see in long time
Probably because this is my favorite album of genesis
Great Job Guys
There are so many great comments here and I do NOT want to be repetitive. Very well done on one of the most difficult ( I think) albums in progressive rock history ever . Thanks.....
Wow... just wow! You guys are so amazing 👏💯💫 you can feel the passion and talent, my endless goosebumps are proof 💓 hope you guys continue, since seeing Genesis live will now be a truly rare occasion.
I had the chance to see the Lamb in Montreal and will never forget it for the rest of my life.
Your rendition is awsome and thank you for the memories. Great work
Excellent musicianship.
Like many of the commenters below, I clicked on this for a three second check out and said to myself there is no way I am going to invest nearly a couple of hours on this...and of course 1 hour and 45 minutes later (felt like half that) my evening has been made! Absolutely fantastic from this 45 year Genesis fan. And i am blown away that for all the effort you put into this you play it a couple of times and "move on" as you say. I think it should be a yearly event and the audience should be challenged each year to dress up in various Genesis characters either from the album or from the many other creatures of creation that Genesis presented over the years on their albums hmmmm maybe a Hallowe'en thing. I'll leave it to your more than capable hands!! In any event, thanks for a great show!!!
This 47 year fan agrees.
Ditto
over 50 years I've been a BIG fan. Genesis... Gabriel ... Hackett ...
Mike and the Mechanics ... Collin's's various band heartbeats ~
the phenominal scores from Banks. Ant's library of Music.
I attended the Lamb tour opener in Chicago Nov. 20th, '74 ...
After 100's of concerts... Still tops my list of the best shows I've attended.
Kudos The Rock Orchestra ... great accomplishment "hear" ;- )
I'll have to go backwards a few years. It's only been 40 years that I've been a Genesis fan. The Peter Gabriel era or Phil Collins and all the solo stuff in between it doesn't matter it's all great to me. Just like you was unsure of this but once I started listening to it got sucked in right away. These guys did a great job.
Awesome stuff from a big Genesis fan. You all should make it a yearly event. All of you did a great job and sounded awesome. Thanks for the show. Hope you keep doing the Genesis stuff.
OK I’m A Genesis all the way back to 1970 I just went to see Steve Hackett in Collingwood NJ this past weekend that was a fantastic show brought me back to the mid 70’s 1976 at the SPECTRUM so if you get chance to see Steve Hackett Go but have to say The Rock Orchestras puts on a good show I would be interested to see what Genesis thinks
Magnificent execution and reproduction of a magnificent album. Every performer is fantastic, but let me give a special mention to the lead singer, who has an incredible voice.
C'mon, man. These guys deserve to play Wembley! Tremendous stuff.
Wonderful... Beyond words, thanks a lot for performing in the best way my favourite album. Absolutely perfect, made for the centuries....
This is superb.....just simply excellent!!
Wow ! a very competent rendering of my all-time favourite of Genesis.
Perfect voice!
Great performance of my favorite Genesis's album. My congratulations to all rock orchestra members
Wow... I really liked this band... you are beasts....
have been listening to this album since 1976.... never amazes to surprise me with new discovered sounds in the original. So yes, bit sceptical but it only took me 17 min into this to sit it out, just enjoy it and appreciate the musicianship of all involved in this magnificent feat, Awesome!
Great version of "Grand Parade" and it'ss grand finale!!!
Yours is no disgrace! The sounds so details
VERY nice ! You have done a very good job here. I saw the lamb concert live when I was a teenager. It was one of the best concerts I have ever seen. You are bringing these memories back to me. Thank you so much and best wishes from the country of smiles 😁
God bless you folks ! You brought me an unexpected joy this day 😀 like some of the others I expected to listen for a couple minutes. It’s just too good to stop !
I keep coming back and watching this. You are all amazing!!! Grand Parade and Carpet Crawlers are sublime.
I’m stucked since the first 3 seconds till 1:46:03.. Perfect performance The Rock Orchestra ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Why empty seats ? Should be queuing around the block to get in ! Whish I was there! Sounds superb! Amazing . . Life long Genesis Fan . . Takes me back . . Thank you x
Amazing that you were able to even have an event featuring what many consider Genesis's most esoteric and "inaccessible" work!
Excellent job. Clearly this was an effort born of passion for the material!
Just discovered this and i am speechless. Such a great job, a relaxed and unexcited show in a good way. Cheers from Germany. The best beer is from here.
Was soll man dazu sagen? Viele Grüße an Deine Band-Kollegen.🎶
Vielen Dank für Deine schöne Kommente - immer schön andere Musikfans kennenzulernen!
loving the bass. real close to the original Rutherford tone. good job!
seriously!
So far away fron the Rickenbacker or later the Shergold !!!!
Ive seen Genesis from the 70's and been a fan since I was around 12 years old. Im now 60. I must say, this performance is very impressive! Not an easy task to capture every nuance from beginning to end. Im now following you guys. Really well performed.👍😉👏👏👏
Same age, and same thoughts. Fabulous
I've loved this album for 40 years. You guys do it total justice. Absolutely beautiful !!!
Thank you!
It is certainly beautiful.

The transition into "Counting Out Time" is perfection!! This entire project is as good as it's been done. Thank You so much from an old rocker! BRAVO 😁👍
Thank you, thank you! Just brilliant! Sending my love and appreciation from New Zealand. The nerve and audacity to perform ‘The Lamb’ is matched by the absolute joy you brought this old Genesis fan. Just fantastic! I can’t describe the feeling I get when I hear the ‘classic’ Genesis songs, especially live. And then ‘Firth of Fifth’! Hope you are all keeping well in these uncertain times. Once again, thank you for keeping the faith!
A wave of freshness on the wonderful music of Genesis, outstanding performance ! Bye from Italy !
Bloody excellent, camera work, editing, soundman, performers attention to detail, all bloody excellent!
This is just great! I've been listening to Genesis since 1972 and saw the original show in April 1975. Still a very special memory. But this performace of yours is breathtaking in its transparency and skillfulness. Great job and extremly well done! Thank you all for this!
Amazing show! Thanks for all involved.
Oh. My. I cannot thank you enough for sharing this labour of love with us all.
As a Genesis fan from more than 45 years, I am delighted to see so many exceptionally talented and dedicated musicians perform theses timeless works.
(I came to this directed from seeing "the farm"; a bunch of young Germans who absolutely nailed the ATTWT era - all for two college exams!).
Speechless ............ so just a very deserved WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW thnx!
So I'm minding my own business, whiling away some pandemic lock-down time here in Canada, and the UA-cam algorithms decide to send me here. Holy smokes! That was stunning, just incredible. Bravo. Bra-fucking-vo. What musicianship. What dedication to pull that off. Delaware you say? May need to pay a visit.
What a grand nite I missed !
