After finding this video, I did not understand the need of a channel like this...UNTIL I SAW THIS VIDEO!! Great educational presentation in your review. Hope to see more of these in the future!
I just bought the parliament. I wish I got the senate now. It’s so much better. I only went with the parliament for the extra card slots in the bi fold portion. Had I known about the hidden pocket the senate has I would’ve got it. I might even exchange when it arrives. I watched a few videos. No one pointed this out and they do not showcase this on their site. They are really underselling the senate.
Excellent Review, by far one of the best. I just returned my Senate wallet to get the Parliament instead, because I didn't know or realize I could simply push in more cards ie. the tracker behind the leather piece. Simply because the strap is mainly advertised for attaching bank notes, hence it didn't occur to me and I'm surprised Ekster would not advertise this as another way to add more cards. I basically needed two, the one in front for a bus card so RFID works and the second for the tracker as it won't fit inside the card mechanism. Ekster did not point out in their campaign nor on their website that the Senate is not a one piece wallet, from pictures the strap and front pocket are visible and appear to be part of the wallet. Only in reviews we get to see it's a separate piece, I was disappointed they didn't do the same due diligence in pointing this out, however I can see practically how it will appeal to some people and why overall you gave more scores to the Senate. Btw. The front pockets in the Parliament I think are Not RFID protected! They say there are only 4-6 RFID protected slots, which I take is referring to the card mechanism storage.
I realize that you did this video 3 years ago but I just became a slider card wallet customer. Because of the smoothness I decided to get the Ekster and went with the black leather one with the Air Tag tracker and looks a lot like the Parliament. I am someone that is always willing to pay for quality if it is truly quality. Since receiving my wallet I feel that Ekster is true quality. I actually ordered the aluminum one in graphite also. Thanks for you video.
Didn’t know the senate existed, I’m really considering getting it. Thanks for being so thorough, you’ve been feeding my addiction to wallet videos wonderfully!
Just received my Eksters; picked an aluminum card holder and a Vachetta Parliament. The aluminum holder fits a decent mix of only 5 of my smooth and raised-letter cards securely, while the same cards in the Parliament are pretty loose, which seems odd. I _love_ the quality of the leather on my Parliament! It is beautiful, and looks to be well constructed. It also smells like leather should, which is a favorite smell of mine. Unfortunately, it will be going back as there’s no telling when my CC issuers will change from raised-lettering to smooth, and I don’t want to risk my cards falling out (which they will certainly do). The aluminum holder works fine and is even smaller. The form factor is simplistic, which also works for me. It may not be as sexy as that Italian leather, but it’s still pretty cool to look at.
I realise this post will have a shelf life but I just got 40% off my Senate by ordering direct from Ekster (instead of via Amazon) using the black Friday code PRE-BF. That made it a considerably good buy IMHO.
I'm curious about how these kinds of wallets handle only 1 or 2 cards in the main card holder. I think including a "minimum amount of cards" in your tests would be nice too!
Anyone have experience with using the cash straps? i feel like using the senate would make cash slide off the wallet and into my pocket, or worse, on the ground when I'm pulling the wallet out. I also like the idea of the Parliament have the flap to cover the cash to prevent that friction when pull the wallet out of the pocket. Can someone give me insight please?
Personally I think the ekster is too expensive even if it has the cool button, especially since I heard that the button does break easily and wear down depending on how much you use it or if it falls on the ground. Also idk how reliable the reviews are on the site since you can make one easily even without purchase.
Fantastic presentation. I know I'm late to the party, I'm guessing these are the 2.0 versions? Does your opinion hold for the 3.0 versions of both? I'm planning to get a Senate 3.0. Your opinion on the best spring-box wallet in the market?
Yes, these are the 2.0 versions, I did do a review on the Parliament 3.0, I'm sure the Senate is the same. Not sure what difference these is, except in the leather, more options there. Best spring box wallet? They're all good, but due to the continuing development of the basic mechanism I'm going to give it to SECRID.
Parliament best because you got the 2 pockets for paper cards like insurance etc. The senate does have that middle. But that would be a pain in the ass to get to. And that's the reason of these wallets, to make them simpler.
Thank you for posting this video. I found it to be quite informative. I'm actually a fan of the Parliament wallet, but am a little concerned about the strength of the leather between the cover flap and the main body of the wallet. Would you recommend the Senate model over the Parliament?
Wallet Tracker feature. I was interested in how the wallet tracker worked. It turns out it has very little capability of its own. It requires a cell phone nearby (within Bluetooth range.) This results in some catches:. 1,.it won't work for me. I have no cell phone. 2, if a thief steals your wallet he had better steal your phone too, or the tracker will not work. It might work if the thief has a cell-phone. 3. if you leave your home without your wallet, you had better remember to take your phone or your tracker will not notify you. This needs a major redesign. They have plenty of budget for it.
I love how he says, "you can fit 12 MORE cards in here" meanwhile I'm here with just my regular debit card and ID thinking, uhhhhh who has this many cards? XD
@@jocodashcam295 You have 8, which is fine with me. I'm always around 8-10 credit cards/health/ID/loyalty, etc. in my wallets, especially as I transfer from wallet to wallet when I do carry testing. But with the Senate, I could add more, many more and still be fine.
No, they'll hold the cards no matter if it's 1 or the full 6. When full, if you put enough downward force on the box card will begin to slip out, but it does require effort, which would be unusual in normal handling situations.
I am in the market for a new wallet. Unfortunately, these look like typical gimmicky types of things that in the end will disappoint. Why? Impractical. Not enough room. Likely break very quickly. Please tell me I am wrong.. but I doubt it.
Great video! Though the point on the senate wallet of stacking 15 cards in a line doesn't seem very appealing to me. I do not want to have to fish through a whole stack of 15 cards to get the one I want, lord knows they'll fly all over the place.
I totally agree! It was more for demo purposes, it really can hold a lot without the fear of items falling out, that backplate idea, which they also applied to the all-aluminum version was good thinking on their part.
I am in the market for a great wallet. Ended up looking at Ekster and your video is very helpful. I am quite sure I will get the senate with the tracking card. Question; are the cards hard to slide out.. in other words are they safe from just falling out of the wallet when you hold it upside down.
Hi Titanik, yes, they're safe, there are friction blocks just inside the box on both sides which prevent the cards from flying out when you press the trigger or allowing them to just fall out when they're in the box. But, once you eject the cards using the trigger, they're easy to pull out with your fingers.
I haven't decided yet on my purchase but I was pretty sure I would go with the parliament. After seeing the reviews and comparisons, I might actually go with the senate. It seems to be bettwr overall and a bit more compact which is what I was concerned with the parliament. This would be my every day use wallet but for travelling I'm not sure it would work. I use cash for travelling and some countries have a knack for having small change.
All you're talking about are "cards", why no mention of drivers licenses, vehicle registrations, proof of insurance, CPL permits, health insurance cards and other non "cards" that we typically carry in our wallets in addition to the cards you are referring to? Sounds to me like these Ekster wallets are for credit cards only.............
Generally yes, that’s the point of reducing the size of your wallet. That said, we all need to carry those items and they don’t fit in the box, so Eksters solution is to use the strap on the Senate or internal slots on the Parliament.

Would not recommend the parliament, the extra slots just aren't very practical. Especially do not get the GPS card its alot thicker than it looks and will stretch out any slot u put it in. And cash just makes it look ugly as it won't close very easily
What a bias review sir! you are comparing the mechanism to a "whats look like" a secrid wallet mechanism. now people might think that Secrid wallet is the same perspective. tell me sir how to replace the band in the ekster wallet? you cannot right? what if its wear off? and base on some of your videos it feels like you hate Secrid.

That wallet is not a Secrid, it's a knockoff, which I mention throughout the video. The Secrid doesn't have the problem with launching cards, but the trigger could catch, but reports about that are low.

Great to hear!
Awesome video. I wish I would of seen this before I ordered the parliament. 😅

I assume wallets like these are meant to be put in your front pockets? Would sittin on them in the back pocket crush them?

Personal Credit Card

Tesla Key Card
Heath Savings Account Debit Card
Corporate Credit Card

Really annoying that reviewers never tell you how much cash these wallets can hold. Cash capacity should be as important as card capacity
This one is a compare, the individual reviews talk about potential cash capacity.
You should review the Fantom wallet

Have seen on the senate wallet to where the trigger broke. The trigger on the parliament is wider so it may be less likely to break.
Great observation, I'll look to see. I have an updated comparison between the Senate and Parliament coming up soon.
