He's not using any pedals can you imagine what stereo chorus reverb delay pedal would sound on his voice.
would be also nice to see the back vocal girl actually singing instead of using a sample
Even without pedals there's still something as 'FOH-effects', no pedals but a whole rack of effects.
It’s unbelievable how he switches from grow to clean and then grow again… basically a complete vocalist.
Whoever disliked this performance is utterly out of his mind
The entire band is great... but Tomi really stands out as one of the most consistent live vocalists in the metal universe. He always sounds great... and that growl is unique and quite chilling. Thank you Amorphis!
I'm here after watching a bunch of "Corps Grinder vs. Chris Barns" video comparisons. NEITHER of them have ANYTHING on Tomi!

Difficult to see them neither underrated or unkown. Their career is almost 3 decades long. It's difficult to know sometimes what the history of the people is who use UA-cam or Facebook because they don't discover anything by themselves. It was different in the times of internet boards.
If you know anything about metal at all there is no excuse not knowing them. Or being surprised about their performance.
many great bands like this are fuckin underrated...all thanks to shit heads listening to fckin edm and making shit music popular!

Living under a stone...just discovered this band they are truly dynamic and amazing.
Holy fuck. I've heard of him but never got round to listening any of their stuff before. Absolutely impressive vocals, the variation is something like old Opeth style.

Damn! The first time I discovered Amorphis it was around 95, back then I was 10 years old, and it was thanks to a good old friend of mine whose big brother's friend brought a cassette tape from Germany to Morocco, a casette of Tales from thousand lakes ! I was in awe and ensrocelled by the dark, brutal yet melodic and charming rythms and epic Arabic oriental thousand and one nights melodies with the nordic cold sad harmonies of this back then underground esoteric band !
Very glad they got the recognition and fame they fully deserve after such long decades of hard work and dedication ! Peace from Morocco.

Bought Elegy back in the day the same day it was released. Record shop was playing it non stop that day. It was small local shop.
It's been biggest record shop of all kind of rock/metal music here in Finland for a while 🇫🇮

With all due respect for other singers, but this guys is best Metal Singer in Death Metal / Doom today. So powerful, melodic, aggressive and clear to liste to.
I would've agreed with you, if it hadn't been for Aron Stainthorpe of My Dying Bride.. especially when Doom is concerned. But in my eyes (and ears) Tomi is a damn close 2nd, no doubt an excellent vocalist both in studio and live.

Tomi has some sick transitions from growls to clean and back. Really gifted vocalist.
I feel like the crowd doesnt deserve the greatness that is this band. Im sitting here watching this on youtube and they always make me weep. No other band pulls this type of energy out of me. Its fucking my personal battle cry. I will go to my grave with the bands energy flowing through me. So under-appreciated after all these years. This is spiritual music friends.
Amorphis become more and more for me one of my top 5 bands.

Deenomat69 I tend to disagree with you in parts.... I'm tottaly agree that all band is underrated by parte of the mainstream and couple of stupid music critics. The last album is far the best album release in 2018 and is trully amazing music! Play in small clubs isn't mean the banda is underrated. Play in small clubs is easy for logistic, more tour dates, atmosphere with the audience and other benefits for the band, like sell merchandise due to the connection with the public, however I agree is great to see Amorphis in big stages such as hellfest and wacken, but the underground spirit the band has combined with the quality of mainstream musicmake Amorphis the best!

they should make band named Holopainen with Tuomas on keyboards Viljami on vocals and Esa on guitar :P not sure how they are gonna fill the rest spots tho

sometimes I have a hard time moving & headbanging to a band because I'm fucking amazed that their actually playing in front of me. eg. waited years to sh hypocrisy and I got so drunk l can't remember l fucking note.

I"ve been listening Amorphis since 1998 and they never disapointed Against Widows is one of my favorite so spiritualy and powerful..
I'm not really a fan of Amorphis. But I must admit, that the vocalist does a great job. His growl is so powerful, clean voice is ok as well.

The sentence at 29:12 in Wrong Direction was the worm that burrowed into my brain. His natural cadence and emphasis I find intriguing. Since then I've listened to everything lol. Can't wait to see where they go next.

I started to listening Amorphis before one year,i had seen a video clip with Anneke "amongst stars"and i love it.
I am not a fan of death metal 🤣 but i love Amorphis, they have unique sound and their last album Halo which i bought recedly is amazing.

“Silverbride!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for posting this concert. I caught them in Durham, N.C. That year and was in 7th heaven~! It is soooo much more than just the vocalists. The atmosphere of these albums AND their show are the most mesmerizing thing ever. Spend some time with their albums, you will not regret it! I cannot wait for this band to come back to the States for the tour they sadly had to abandon.

I can't believe Tomi is almost 45 and still sounds this good. I don't know them and don't know how they feel after a gig like this, but I wouldn't fault them if they decided to retire after QoT. The album is a masterpiece and leaving on a high note has to be better than slowly losing their fire.
I still wish for a thousand more albums with energy and variety of QoT though.
