🇫🇷 Une nuit, rassemblé avec ses amis autour d’un feu de camp, Tuomas Holopainen a l’idée de créer une formation musicale dont il composerait les airs. Cette anecdote, qui ressemble aux débuts d’un conte nordique, est à l’origine de l’idée de @nightwish, un groupe né dans une région de l’est de la Finlande, en Carélie du Nord.
Nightwish, ce nom vous dit peut-être quelque chose ? Aujourd’hui décrit comme le groupe-phare de la scène metal scandinave, il est aussi le représentant le plus connu du metal symphonique, un genre mêlant metal et influences issues de la musique lyrique. La voix du groupe, incarnée jusqu’en 2005 par Tarja Turunen, est remplacée d’abord par Anette Olzon, puis par Floor Jansen en 2012 : si la différence entre la première chanteuse et les suivantes marque un tournant dans le style du groupe, le groupe a su se réinventer et garantir sa longévité.
Et pour preuve ! En 2016, la formation fête ses vingt ans en grandes pompes, avec une tournée événement, notamment au Tampere Stadium en Finlande ou à Wembley, en Angleterre. Leur dernier album, Human. :II: Nature. est sorti en avril 2020 : un double album composé d’un CD de 9 titres et d’un long morceau divisé en huit chapitres sur le deuxième CD. Une nouvelle consécration pour le groupe aux albums multi-récompensés… qui viendra se produire sur la scène du Hellfest cette année !

Tarja left Nightwish in 2004. Anyone that is comparing Floor to Tarja saying Tarja is better... Get over it. It's also disrespectful to Floor and the entire band. 2004 was 20 YEARS AGO! Move on. Tarja has and she's doing very well for herself. Floor smashes it - otherwise she wouldn't have been in NW as long as she has. Appreciate what you have. Music. Everyone has a dynamic to their craft. Society is fucked up because everyone is comparing their life/journey/success/talent to other people. Focus on you and what you love. Let everything else go. Save yourself the trouble. Love wins always.
U could keep your advices for your 🤡 in your society instead to tell us how to talk about Floor, but WW is the meaning of the chaos society ruled by greedy bankers. Ofc EC is training 🤡 to act like girls on the clubs.

I just timed it and was shocked by the number, it seems impossible, especially at the end of such a concert!!

Eventhough I miss Marko, Floor is handling this by herself like a Queen.
Marko was a replacement too. Tomas is blessed with wonderful musicans and voices in his head!

NIGHTWISH IS STILL ALIVE, and so is the musical concept they have developed since I first listened to them in 2000 and through all these years of existence: with this line up; with the former ones, there is an essence which prevails one season after another: THE PASSION FOR ROCK.
It looks like there is a real leader behind the group of these talented MUSICIANS and SINGERS...

Floor is metal machine: sing for 1,5 hours for two lead vocals. Crazy thing! Beautiful, empowered Qween of Metal !! End of "Shoemaker" is breathtaking! Her face there so magical and pure.
That "Shoemaker" finale was one of the most epic live music moments I've ever witnessed, and I only watched it via stream. Unbelievable.
The kid at the end got me, in tears. Beautiful. I saw them live a couple weeks ago and that was my favorite part by far!

I got to see it in concert in May. It was the single greatest moment I have ever seen in a concert in my whole life and I've been to a LOT of concerts. It was so special and I am dying to see them live again. Never missing a show if I can go.
Withnessed it live on Pinkpop. Hot day. Dehydrated, but tears running ... Never thought that could even happen to me.
It's the most religious song Ive ever heard(although I am pretty sure Thuoms didnt mean it to be such) But when Floor sings Laudato si, it makes you as if directly connected with God Himself.

Because he's such a great drummer that everything seems effortless, when he's actually playing insane drumming. He's not flashy or showing off, he's just chilling on the background while kicking ass.

Incredible. 55 Year old and ive been into rock/metal for most of those years. I have seen soooo many bands, DC, Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, To name probably 2%. Been to countless gigs, Concerts and Festivals. Gotta say this has to be one of the best ive heared. The Songs are incredible, such talent . Ive only heared a small amount of this bands music but i have to say, it has totally blown me away. Incredible. Oh...that voice .
I totally agree with you. I grew up with Pink Floyd etc.but now I almost only listen to Nightwish live with Floor. Wacken 2013 and Wembley 2015 and Hellfest and many more.

56 here and have only recently stumbled upon this incredible band. The musicianship is amazing and the song-writing beautiful. The musicians are at the top of their game - just superb. And then there is Floor - who is just out of this world. There are only a few who reach that top 5% and she is well and truly there.

Jukka is doing great, I think he as a very humble-seeming bassist gets too little love and recognition!

Jeez, I thought Floor couldn't surprise me anymore, but hearing her do all of the vocals for Planet Hell by herself was seriously impressive.
True is. She is one of a kind. But probably will get her exausted some point. It's a duet. Hopefully some day they find someone as good as Marko to replace his backing vocals.

One of the many things that make Floor the phenomenon she is, is her stage presence. She knows how to work the stage and the crowd, regardless of size. Even way back in the After Forever days, Floor had that "it" factor all great vocalists have. And it's effortless.
Floor cant make alone Nightwish, no matter her voice, stage behavior and so on. I feel sad for her.
@@Garssia Nightwish is growing and changing. Maybe some of the changes don't go over well all the time. However, stage presence is important along with the band. Toumas understands that.

Je reviens à toujours ce concert qui je pense s'est hissé parmi un des meilleurs festivals du groupe. Si ça avait été un DVD, je l'aurais acheté sans hésitation alors merci Arte de couvrir le Hellfest chaque année gratuitement !
Wacken, Buenos Aires, Wembley and now Hellfest --- There are several bigger names in metal than Nightwish but the majority of them probably never had a live show that would be able to compete at least one of these legendary NW gigs.
Toumas and Floor together form a unique constellation in the world of music -I love the the feeling that I cannot descirbe this wonder with words.

This is by far the best hellfest show I've seen. Many bands play their songs live. Nightwish put on a fucking show. Everything is part of their performance.
I always cry in the "We were here" part. This song is very powerful
Wacken 2013 was the best live concert ever, Wembley 2015 was epic, Hellfest 2022 was epic. Every concert they give 100 %. Great melodies, emotions everything they give us. Best singer with the best stage presence you can long for.

Not only great musicians, great composer and a vocalist that is beyond words... it's what you see on stage. Smiles and joy. Floor is everywhere, sharing the stage with her band mates. Singing next to them. Everybody is having a blast on that stage. That is what the audience loves and feels. That's what music is about.

Marco singing is missing, but speaking of pure bass skills, Jukka is better IMO. His work with Wintersun for example was amazing.
Nightwish is the best vehicle for Floor's (multiple) talents. And Nightwish needed Floor to reach the highest level of awesomeness. How freakin' perfect are they all together! and this last performance was just another example...

Ohmygosh!!! I just turned 63 in July. I am going to see them in Stuttgart in December. I still can't believe that I am going. (Also going to Porsche and Mercedes museums! That's why I chose Stuttgart!!!)

this is the first video i watch of them without marko (i'm pretty late) and i'm amazed by floor singing "planet hell" all by herself. i mean, she's wonderful and all that, but that's a great performance. she's precious.
I have been watching/listening to Nightwish every day night for the last two months... Ever since I got to know this amazing band... I am 72 years living in tropical north Australia, french Italian... Their music is totally epic and extremely well performed...sound, composition and video.. lighting..Rinaldo

I WILL NEVER FORGET, I SAW NIGHTWISH FOR THE WISHMASTER TOUR,
Finishing it off with a 17 second belt. (I timed it) Floor blew it out of the park again. You need to release Floor at a very big podium, in front of a very, very big crowd. Then she is at her best and maximum potential, as shown here in this recording. Full on voice, full on power. Love her inspiring and pumping speeches in between the songs. This was a great live concert, getting feelings of Wacken 2013. I still miss Marko, but Floor is keeping the band on his feet and rolling. An extreme accomplishment.

Gotta also give credit to Tuomas, who writes most (all?) of their songs. Plus mad props to Emppu, who along with Tumomas has been there since the beginning.

This Nightwish performance is like the Lion King soundtrack. It builds up, your eyes are welling, builds up more - now you are crying, builds up even more - you are in puddles and then reaches its climax with Ghost Love Score and your entire world explodes 😅. I sure hope i experience Nightwish with Floor one day.
Big ass show. When you watch it on a huge screen and hear it through a 200 watt Yamaha surround sound system. That was an awesome show
