- Doug Berry of the Eastern Sierra Region of California and Nevada beats the heat wave by hiking into the Ansel Adams Wilderness of the Sierra Mountains of California. Scenic cool temperatures during a summer heat wave. Fern Lake, at almost 9,000 elevation located near the June Lakes Loop in Mono County, California. Date of Adventure 7-11-2024
Thanks for taking us along Doug on your hiking trip up to the lake. It sure is a lot of beautiful scenery out in the West. Tell Kellie we missed her too, y'all 2 are such a good team together...👍💯
@@maverick4080 Hello Steve, thank you for your support of the Doug and Kellie Show! I wish I could go for an early morning cool walk where you live; it's like a garden of Eden out there! You are so lucky! 🇺🇸🌿🪵🌳🌲
Beautiful hike, Doug. Thank you for taking us along! -G
@@giannavlogs6009 Well hello G! Glad to hear from you. We got a rain shower in Hawthorne today and the temperature dropped to 82! What a relief! Hope you and Esmeralda are keeping cool and enjoying summer!
@@CalNeva Nice! Nothing more magical than desert rain… glad the temps dropped out there, you were even hotter than us and we were already at 103 the last week. We got some downpours today too and it feels nice outside now! We are having a good summer, hope you guys are too! 💗
I am not sure how much more of the heat I can take over here! It's been a miserable couple of weeks 🥵 I need Mother Natures' natural AC to blow inland! The Ansel Adams Wilderness is just beautiful. I enjoyed cooling off with you guys on this great adventure. Beautiful views, and taking a dip in that beautiful alpine lake 😇
@@nationalparksprincess3216 Hi DL! We got a small thundershower and some clouds to cool us off in the desert, but just a trace of rain...but still welcome. Happy to help cool you off...it's hot, but in the 1930's the summer was even hotter! Keep cool my friends! 🌬️🧊❄️💧💨🥶🥤
Great hike .did it a few years ago. Definitely remember the mosquitoes.
Thanks for the video.
@@aceyorba You picked a great place to hike, I just want to let you know the mosquitoes said that they " sure miss that hiker". So, I guess you have a lot of friends waiting for your return visit. 😎
Absolutely gorgeous hike man, beautiful and diverse shots!
@@ervinslens Thank you!, I really appreciate a photographer noticing all my little variety of shots; close up, detail, landscapes, action....water features calm and running. 🔭📹🎥📽️🎬🦋🏔️
Thanks for the shout out nice and cold miller.mmmmm
@@caseyhansen4567 The Miller was SO refreshing, thank you!
I had to comment on your beer commercial,my favorite brand historically! In the bottle of course! Wonderful spot to chill! You cooled me down
Just watching you! Thanks!
@@TimT-um6rt I have the bottles, but the aluminum was lighter to pack. Glad to cool you off Tim! 🇺🇸🧊🇺🇸🌬️🇺🇸💨🇺🇸💧🇺🇸🥶
That explains where Kellie disappeared to... two, different excursions. Well, Doug, I'm with her. You're made of stern *stuff, that's for sure. 😂 The environment is absolutely gorgeous, with all that running water, and beautiful, rugged scenery. It's nice to see signs of life with civilization, and chalets around. Those strewn trees were interesting. Thanks for bringing attention to some of the plants that grow in that forest. YIKES, 🦟 🦟 🦟... good thing you were prepared.
That lake is so beautiful. Apparently, you were the only one hearty enough to visit it, on that particular day. That cool water, and breeze must have been so refreshing, after the hike. Thankfully, going down must have been less challenging. Once again, Doug, you have brought us on an adventurous, stunning hike. **The video was very, very enjoyable, informative, and refreshing, especially in these heat waves, a hurricane, its wide path of destruction, and flooding, etc. Take care, and thanks for sharing this beauty of a video with us, Doug.
🏡🙏🏻🌲🌿🏞🤠👏🏻👏🏻
@@rhondaz356 Hello my friend Rhonda! The hike down was slow going and I had to use a trekking pole to steady myself (I slipped on my rear once, but no damage). Just awful some of the weather the USA has been experiencing lately, glad you guys are ok! I took a nap and waited to go down to the desert later as it was starting to cool down. The humidity was very low, but Hawthorne felt like a heated brick kiln. 🌡️🔥 Kellie was visiting family out of town, so she was enjoying herself too. Out here the sunshine can be so strong it can burn up a vegetable garden or get the inside of your car real toasty. Ahhh, the humidity in Massachusetts doesn't sound all that bad. Take care! 👍🤠🇺🇸🧊🌬️💨💧🥤🥶❄️🪣
Energetic hike. Thanks. - missing Kellie. U2 are such a good team.
@@1d1ane Hi Steven, thank you for all your encouragement and support! Hope you got to see some of that rain out your way! 💧💨🌬️⚡
@@CalNeva - it rained a bit, nice change, small bear sighting in hood, now back to work.
@@1d1ane I bet your fishing palace is looking really good! Awesome work! 👍👏🦾🪚🪛🔧🔨📝🪝🔗⛓️
Hi Brother Doug! Good time for a nice cool video to watch. Although it was almost chilly today here , only got to 115° 😅 . Big drop from our 120° on Sunday!
Sheesh, like NP PRINCESS said in her comment , don't know how much longer I can take it, I'm already looking forward to late fall. Maybe even flat out winter! 🥶
It was cool and fun Brother. 🍺 🇺🇸
@@Brother_D_therail Hi my Brother, you guys hang in there! 🔥🌡️I used to know an ancient senior that told me that in Arizona desert she used to put wet straw bales in the open windows (she grew up when cars first came out and no electric services). So I guess we have it pretty good these days. 😎🤠
No unbearable heat here on the Northern California Coast. Our little resort town has been swamped with folks looking to escape the heat since July 1st...Nice, cool Pacific Ocean. That hike looked brutal.
@@sueanna_banana Hi Sueanna! You are so lucky to be on the cool coast! The hike was a steep one for sure, glad to have you along! 🧗💙
That rock frog was strange. Those art people don't think the same way we do 😂. It was cute though.
@@goober9983 Travis that sure is the truth! 🐸
Why paint the perfection of nature!
I guess we should enjoy enjoy the heat, summer passes quickly! I mean what choice do most of us have but to endure
the Broken furnace in the sky!
@@TimT-um6rt Ha, "Endure the broken furnace in the sky". I think it may stay under 90 for just this one day....
Worthy of a cold social sparkler.
@@johnsikessikes5404 So true John, it's been so hot every day is worthy of a cold soc ial sparkler!
I'm sure the frog rock was originally painted by Nellie Bly O'Bryan who painted the warrior up Lundy Cyn. Have you ever gone on Linda LaPierre's history walk up Lundy Cyn. She does them every Friday at 10 am. Worth it.
@@user-ud1js7yb9w Hi Linda! Thank you! It all makes sense now as the clues are coming together. I think I may go on that history tour...info much appreciated. Have a great summer! 👏
Kelly was the smart one today, just saying. Harry in AK 62 deg today
@@harryraymore5813 Ha Harry, there is some truth to that statement!
What was that small creature crawling along the side of the water in the right part of the scene at 12:37 in? A cat? That
is some nice scenic forests amid the mountain lake. Windy at 80 degrees sure beats 100 plus in the basin anytime.
@@hestheMaster I left that clip in there to see if anyone noticed, good work Steve. It was a black dog that a hiker had with them. We finally got a few clouds and a slight cool down, but the heat will be back. 🤠😎🥵🌡️🔥
I swore I saw that black cat also!
@@sueanna_banana You did, you did see a black doggy cat! 👏🐈⬛
Really cool hike.wish i could join.glad kellie is busy but whose going to report your missing.if you get hurt..ps.what kinda of real tree shirt are sporting
@@caseyhansen4567 Hi Casey, I had a check in plan with Kellie while she was out of town. Shirt is a Green Mark Seclusion 3D Open Country FYI. We should go on a hike sometime!
