The industry has never been the same since these talented people have passed. I'm proud to be a fan of those movies because whenever life just seems to horrible out there, I can throw one of these movies and find myself smiling throughout the whole thing. It's a wonderful feeling.
I don't think it matters what age you are. People like us recognize great talent when it is seen. I have been watching these people dance since I was 21 and it never grows old. Although I am 35 now, we are the ones who keep the memories alive. May dance live on!!
This women has been singing professionally since she was twelve years old. She sings opera, I've heard her sing jazz, she a Broadway star and she even has the nerve to tap dance. Julie Andrews has been a talented "Triple Threat" in the business for over 50 years.

She had a Variety Television Show called "The Julie Andrews Hour" and it aired for a year (1972-73) on ABC, and she did a tribute show to Fred & Ginger and she was fantastic!! It's posted on UA-cam. She had taken lessons is tap and ballet as a young child, but her singing practice and career were first priority for her Vaudeville mother and step father. So she gave up dancing to focus completely on what became her legendary voice.
Gene Kelly is one of my favorite dancers of all time! So athletic and graceful and he could make it all seem so effortless and easy. I've admired him since I was a little girl, watching a VHS of Singing In The Rain at my grandparent's house. It's a shame there's just no talent like that now... (Savion Glover, of course, is amazing...but no triple threat of acting, singing and dancing)
