A. Maldonado here, not quite how I expected to make my Super GT video debut, but at least I got to meet Japanese Barry R in the same race as Scott Speed. Nothing like being on the receiving end of a pool shot. Huge fan and it was awesome seeing you race!
I'd feel more inclined to use it if it was better in other cars. In this car it's really good but most other cars I feel it needs more adjusting options.
I remember I got called a cheater on stream because I race in bumper cam. When you've been playing racing games in bumper cam since the first Need for Speed it's a hard habit to break out of.
Hey steve, I've been watching your videos for months and all I wanted was to play this game, I sim race on pc and it felt dumb to spend 600 bucks on a console for one game, but I went for it. And im happy to say that it was a great decision, Love your vids man
@@seanmaguire7618 The PS4 version is pretty far from optimal though. Plus now they have a PS5, which when the nuclear winter comes, will make for a far better weapon.

Nice to see Fedsmoker back from the grave to try and give Scott a run for his money. God damn American legend right there. "Touch my camera through the fence" If you know, you know.
I've been watching your video since the beginning of the year and I finally bought a (rather cheap) sim racing set up. It's been a crazy experience and I have even more respect for how clean and smooth you drive. Thanks for inspiring me to pursue a hobby that I'm passionate about!
I haven't had my system up in a couple of weeks, I was busy with IMSA at Road Atlanta, but I remember racing those in GT Sport, and keeping it geared high except on straight line runs yielded me the best results.
I had to run Counter Steer Assist in addition to TCS to keep this thing in line, and even then I had to drag the brake at 130R to stop it from spinning. The upside is that, while I had to turn those assists on to just keep myself from dying, it allowed me to also push the car without being too timid on the throttle, and as a result I have an FP time good enough for 11th globally.
The lotus 79 is my absolute favorite. The boost will kill you but it's manageable. You either short shift or skip gears. I love how the car has enough downforce for high speed racing but it can go wrong so quickly. Best car ever. Oh and it looks so good too.
Beautiful choreographed carnage. Anther great video Steve. Good to see the GOAT 🐐 showing us how's it done too . Always wanted to know if it was possible to practice our 3 point turns while bringing home the win.
I had this car in GT Sport, if I could get killed in these games I would've died every time I drove this, this was just crazy and when the turbo kicks in it's even crazyer
The reason gearing up works so effectively on GT7 is these cars are set up for maxed boost pressure all the time. IRL, they could only run like that for qualifying as the engine would damage itself rather quicly, but they made like 1400 horsepower or some crazyness. In AMS 2 you can drive these same cars with more period accurate boost levels, and you can basically use max boost as push to pass 1 time per lap. It very much is, put the car straight into 5th, hold the button, and hold on! With a H Pattern and VR, it is incredible fun and the tire model is set up so the car is much less twitchy and deadly then GT7. If you get a chance, highly recommend giving it a try! Just be warned, the AI do not adjust their boost pressure per the length of the race on road courses yet. So if you try to do a full distance race, everyone will run out of fuel and technically you couldn't refuel during this era of F1. I recommend 60% distance or turning on refueling so the AI can pit for fuel if needed.
"And Crofty, is going absolutely mental in the commentary box right now, as we pull off the Double Switcheroo. I mean, that's a rarity." Haha the best!
Watch out for fed smoker. He will touch your camera through the fence. Then he'll ask how do you get a job here there, F+*-face. But you'll be okay as long as you keep featherin it brother.
A momentus occasion. I remember where I was for the double-switcheroo. Also, that guy that turned left on the straight was probably overcome by the American instinct to always turn left, and thus was sent off to Beriu Aru.
The time trial the week before actually trained me well for this daily but it was in an older car. You pulled off some great times despite starting this daily with no practice.
i'm finding myself doing something similar when i first tried f1 22 a few days ago. i found myself spinning SO much more in that one play session vs my whole playtime of f1 20. i eventually found out, i much preferred flooring it (on a controller) on a higher gear after every corner as opposed to feathering the gas finding the grip on the right gear every time :O
@@aqaridot i mean, until i find a way to spin out everytime on acceleration. i might just have to stick with this, it's so hard feathering it on the exit finding grip :c wonder if i should play with my traction control settings, think my braking is semi assisted as well hmm....
Im not good in sport i always end up punted or off track last lap, but thus car.... Its one my favorite actually and i love it XD. Finally i got the advantage now....
Formula 1 drivers at that time were superhumans, they drove practically manual cars, with little or no safety at impressive speeds, Senna won a race in Brazil at the Interlagos circuit in 1991 with a broken gearbox having only 6th gear in the last 7 laps, the The effort was so intense that he had to be taken out of the car as he couldn't get out on his own.
Now I just wish they add a 1986 Benetton B186 in qualifying trim. 1400+ horsepower at 5.5 bars of boost and just about 550kg would be great fun on Suzuka. Would probably pass Barry R while about 5 feet off of the ground in a ball of mangled fibreglass at 200mph. Top stuff.
I'm so used to wheels going flying in Project Cars 2 when driving the Lotuses (Lotusses? Loti? Lotice?), that I wince whenever I see contact, especially with our friend Barry R.
I've managed to do that in a front wheel drive car in this game lol... The Toyota MR2 was also pretty undrivable as well. Hoping they have improved the physics
Interesting 🤔 definitely takes some tuning, also I use it in every game possible so maybe that helps, I’m no pro but I am really comfortable with it!! So fun when it works.
