Man i wished bungie just released all of the D1 and sunset d2 story campaigns onto d2 and just have it be like modern warfare…i reason wanna do red war and black garden with all my new toys…the main problem with d2 rn is i can make all these new builds and play with all these cool toys but there’s not a lot of casual environments to use them in, i miss replaying the old stories in D1
Keep in mind that the guardian's gravesite in time from season of the dawn is just ONE possibility. We could completely avoid that outcome, because we can pick any timeline we want
Also something about no revive zone being the timelines in that certain place will ALMOST completely result in you dying, as in there's not much you can do unless if you follow exactly what needs to be done and to try not to die, like in a raid. But ofc with the true guardian fashion we find the one way that we win, and we follow it.
The Best thing about this is the Linup of 6 Guardians against the witness with the Titan holding the void Axe, and then in the Day 1 Raid None of first 40 Players clearing the Raid was a Titan
It was a good season with good weapons made awful by the fact you had to be borderline toxic during expeditions just to finish triumphs and seasonal challenges.
Ketch crash was fun, but expedition was SO tedious and boring, plus the missions of getting the artifacts were to short for my liking, but otherwise an alright season, loved the pirate theme though
Plunder was my second favorite season that year, only topped by Seraph. Maybe it was the release of Arc 3, since arc is my favorite, but also the story was awesome. Every character that was important that season is a favorite of mine, Drifter is my absolute homie, Mithrax is a king I would swear fealty to, Eido is that adorable niece you want to protect, Spider is the troublemaking uncle, Saint is ... Saint. Eramis actually became interesting that season too, all in all one of my favorites.

Calling lightfall an “otherwise good” expansion is pretty generous. No new destination weapon models, probably the easiest raid we’ve ever gotten with an expansion, no post raid content, mid exotics and a mid destination when you remove the skybox. The only thing that really stood out was strand
No new weapon models has been a thing for nine years and is blown way out of proportion by Destiny fans, but I’ll tell you what take a picture of the fan favourite Fatebringer and put it next to a picture of Lord High Fixer (also the model for Luna’s Howl & Not Forgotten) from Destiny one and then ask yourself… “why did no one care that Fatebringer was a Lord High Fixer reskin”. I’ll save you the trouble and tell you why it’s because it’s a very good weapon. So what I think people are really mad about are the weapons being shit, but they don’t say that instead they blame it on reskins. Edit: I do agree with your other points, though 😅.
In my personal ranking, I started playing shadowkeep btw. The expansion ITSELF not counting the following seasons, was better than Shadowkeep, and Beyond Light. I’d also assume it’s better than Curse of Osiris and Warmind, but not as good as Red War.

Even when the seasons started, there were new weapon models each season up until lightfall, (minus undying). Even if there are many guns that look similar to each other, the weapons we got in lightfall and the past 3 sets of seasonal weapons are just straight up reskins. Don’t believe me, look it up for yourself.

For me it’s really just how many corners they cut that makes lightfall so bad IMO (again, no unique new expansion weapons, no post raid content of any kind, the entire location is basically on the same y-level, having most of the actual city being relegated to a skybox, and the only real activity being a public event)

I can confirm that The Witch Queen and it's seasons were the absolute PEAK of the game............. But using The Iron Giant's Sacrifice i consider a personal slight and an attempt to stab me directly in the heart with a three prong bayonet.
The final boss of The Final Shape should be Taniks The Reborn, Witness Converged. Completely robotic, no living soul left. Just his empty husk of a body with the witness using it as a mech
Honestly I really want some kind of darkest hour moment in Final Shape before we actually beat the Witness. Looking around us while everyone gets swarmed and the Guardian is forced to watch as the Witness gives some speak about it all being pointless (typical villain monologue) only for the Traveler to manage to give us a second wind. Also really hope our Guardian is a bit more of a character, actually reflecting on past events and how they've brought them to this moment, that defeating the enemies of humanity is what they do without the expectation of recognition for it. But who knows, we shall see.

i love to imagine that the witness afterr all the relaxed and chill demeanor we've seen since lightfall we're just gonna end up with a buffed up witness raid in a boxing ring
Despite what other people’s thoughts on Lightfall maybe, I actually liked it, it had a breath of fresh air from the typical dark gothic vibe and stepping into the 80s retro yet futuristic era style sci-fi, with high action and keeps up on your feat. Plus something new never before revealed makes it something worthy exploring and don’t need more deep prior lore to try and understand. While i am not a fan of Nimbus’ voice, they were a alright for the most part, introducing Nezarec was pretty neat, while I would have liked more mechanics for Calus’ boss fight, i feel his other presence in game sort of makes up for it.
I will add that Shadowkeep story was fine as it is us trying conquer past nightmares and try and uncover the source of the of the darkness there, plus the reveal of the pyramids it lit!
Plunder wasn't as bad, is just that haunted was too packed for just a season (a patrol destination should be the standard for a seasonal release, even if it was revamped from a raid that no one misses), also, the stats on all of the craftable weapons from haunted were Nuts, so much that Bungie had to dial down the stats on coming craftable weapons, but the guns from plunder got a little too much of a nerf, and then came seraph, hitting even harder the bad reception plunder had, but honestly, craftable weapons were never the same as haunted
I personally didnt really dig Seraph season. The season seemed to revolve around "Rasputin is too op so we need to keep him nerfed to keep the tensions Up. But currently we're building up that hes going to come back. We need some way to get rid of him so we dont have to think anymore of him" They also removed my warmind balls :(

Something that's been sitting in the back of my mind for a minute: We accepted Cabal despite the ones still trying to kill us, after Season of the Chosen. We accepted Eliksni despite the ones still trying to kill us, after Season of the Slicer. We...failed to accept the Hive in any meaningful way, after the Witch Queen, because some are still trying to kill us, and no attempt is made to find peace?
It's just Guardian bias, the Hive have killed a lot more loved ones belonging to the upper Guardian leadership that they can't let go. Osiris and Saint-14 are a HUGE influence over the Guardians and they'd never forgive the Hive for killing Sagira or what happened on the Moon. The Fallen and Cabal have the excuse of fighting the Guardians for power and survival, the Hive never fought for that they fought for the Witness and even if they were tricked the Guardians just can't seem to forgive that. Not to mention most of the Ghosts also hate the Lucent Hive with our Ghost even saying they'd never forgive the Lucent Hive.

You know that mini saint art comp got me thinking…most games at this point would have armor dedicated to looking like important NPCs There’s no saint 14 armor the vanguard dare is the closest thing you’ll get and to looking like cayde at that tho he still has a lot of details, there’s no felwinter or skorri armor, no osiris or ikora robes or even toland would probably look cool(if made by D1 design squad) no saldin no drifter themed stuff no exo stranger themed stuff, etc. they focused too much on being original that it just looks bad…original but bad no more ‘enemy themed’ stuff as well and just think back how they probably wanted to hold back on this kinda stuff for when they needed basically but now were at the end and there’s probably not gonna be either an opportunity or a care in their mind to do it…

I'm a D1 og. Played all throughout middle school and high school. I liked D2 enough to play it consistently. Then I go to college and BOOM the game completely changes on me. I played Forsaken a lot, but after that, not much else. Came back for Shadowkeep because I was like "Oooo those Pyramids are scary lookin!" I enjoyed the cliffhanger then played until Beyond Light, which severely disappointed me with the 18 millionth story of a new Fallen leader with new tech. The avalanche of content that I missed due to my inconsistent time spent on D2 was too overwhelming. The content vault is proof that they did too much with this game

Plunder wasn't as bad, is just that haunted was too packed for just a season (a patrol destination should be the standard for a seasonal release, even if it was revamped from a raid that no one misses), also, the stats on all of the craftable weapons from haunted were Nuts, so much that Bungie had to dial down the stats on coming craftable weapons, but the guns from plunder got a little too much of a nerf, and then came seraph, hitting even harder the bad reception plunder had, but honestly, craftable weapons were never the same as haunted

The season of the witch clip felt like an in-memorium
Something that's been sitting in the back of my mind for a minute: We accepted Cabal despite the ones still trying to kill us, after Season of the Chosen. We accepted Eliksni despite the ones still trying to kill us, after Season of the Slicer. We...failed to accept the Hive in any meaningful way, after the Witch Queen, because some are still trying to kill us, and no attempt is made to find peace?
It's just Guardian bias, the Hive have killed a lot more loved ones belonging to the upper Guardian leadership that they can't let go.
Osiris and Saint-14 are a HUGE influence over the Guardians and they'd never forgive the Hive for killing Sagira or what happened on the Moon.
The Fallen and Cabal have the excuse of fighting the Guardians for power and survival, the Hive never fought for that they fought for the Witness and even if they were tricked the Guardians just can't seem to forgive that.
Not to mention most of the Ghosts also hate the Lucent Hive with our Ghost even saying they'd never forgive the Lucent Hive.
The Cabal and Eliskni trying to kill us are different factions from the ones we are allied with; The Lucent Hive don't have anything like that (yet).

You know that mini saint art comp got me thinking…most games at this point would have armor dedicated to looking like important NPCs
There’s no saint 14 armor the vanguard dare is the closest thing you’ll get and to looking like cayde at that tho he still has a lot of details, there’s no felwinter or skorri armor, no osiris or ikora robes or even toland would probably look cool(if made by D1 design squad) no saldin no drifter themed stuff no exo stranger themed stuff, etc. they focused too much on being original that it just looks bad…original but bad no more ‘enemy themed’ stuff as well and just think back how they probably wanted to hold back on this kinda stuff for when they needed basically but now were at the end and there’s probably not gonna be either an opportunity or a care in their mind to do it…

I'm a D1 og. Played all throughout middle school and high school. I liked D2 enough to play it consistently. Then I go to college and BOOM the game completely changes on me. I played Forsaken a lot, but after that, not much else. Came back for Shadowkeep because I was like "Oooo those Pyramids are scary lookin!" I enjoyed the cliffhanger then played until Beyond Light, which severely disappointed me with the 18 millionth story of a new Fallen leader with new tech. The avalanche of content that I missed due to my inconsistent time spent on D2 was too overwhelming. The content vault is proof that they did too much with this game
