    Would love to see you do a video on the 2018 Pinnacle 38FLWS as well. We're conflicted between the 2018 Pinnacle 38REFS and 38FLWS and can't decided which floor plan we like best. On one hand we like the more open floor plan of the 38REFS, but we also like the more "home like" feel of the 38FLWS with it's front living room. We've only seen the 360 tour of the 38FLWS on the Jayco website and that just isn't enough. Need to see it in a detailed video from you guys since no dealer around us has one.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  7 років тому

      The 38FLWS should be landing soon here actually. We'll be in on one of the very first runs of the model.
      Happy to help you reach the right decision -- just don't forget who helped you reach that decision! :)

    Beautiful but why can't they put the registers on a side wall ? Up out of the floor in some way. Too much dirt etc falls into them.

      Answer: *Because this is actually cold camp proven and not just cold camp promised.*
      Floor vented heating is *vastly* more effective than cabinet ducted heating -- something various marketing agents fail to mention most of the time. You lose 37% of your airflow with cabinet heat ducts.
      It requires 3 bends in that flexible dryer vent hose they use to heat cabinet ducts to get to a duct. Each bend is the aerodynamic equivalent of 20ft of efficient floor ducting.
      For less than $4 you can get floor vent filter pads that eliminate your concerns of debris without losing the effectiveness of floor ducting as seen here: ua-cam.com/video/qefaBTTdt8A/v-deo.html

      @@JoshtheRVNerd Sounds reasonable except someone has to change those and hubby and I are those older folks. That devil dog arthritis just loves to kill our mobility. :( Currently our home has ceiling vents but in the past we have had wall vents and floor vents. Of the 3 we much prefer the wall vents :) Ceiling is our second choice but in and RV it's separate units. I've seen some RV's they have a few vents in the wall or cabinet space.

    I think you misspoke about the propane. You said this has 120 GALLON capacity. That would be about 500 lbs of propane. I think you meant to say it carries 120 lbs of propane which is just over 28 gallons of propane.

      Not liking the pantry you have to stoop down to get stuff, I'd probably have to use the hutch. Depends on the dimensions. Otherwise, great model!

    • @davidaukofer
      @davidaukofer 7 років тому +1

      Roz, I know what you mean, but this is me saying this, that lower storage, that you have to stoop to get to, I put in a drawer. The very bottom floor area, is where I put my dog's food and water dishes in another drawer. I hate to stoop to get to stuff. Levitation hasn't been perfected yet. Even though I hate stooping, its better than wasting the space.

    I live in the UK and am planning a three year travel in America. Did think of a RV at first but that would mean towing a car. Will buy a new 5th wheeler like this (obviously a lot of research to be done). Just would like to know what would be the perfect vehicle that is powerful enough to tow something of this size which when unhitched would also be comfortable to travel in and have all the latest tech built into it, would like it to be four wheel drive as thats what I am used to and if i want to go off road camping it would be up to the job. Any thoughts would be welcome. Thank you for you time. Stephen

      I don't really do them by request, but rather capture each model as it rolls in without fail. However, frequent requests are awesome fuel for me to get good models in stock that may be missing from our lineup. I believe that one specifically is in the order queue and on its way.
      Provided it doesn't end up pre-sold prior to arrival (which is pretty frequent actually) I'll have some footage for you when she rolls in!

    What are those discs that look like lights?. From what I saw there were four in the living room and two in the bedroom. You pointed at one @ 23:34 while talking about the whisper quiet ac. Are these lights on a different switch, speakers, attic vents, or non of my bizzz-ness?
    Thank you for taking the time to shoot, edit, and upload these videos. Oh and I love that you added a static image of the floorplan to the lower left corner of the video. The way you made the sinks, shower and toilet transparent is pretty slick work too.
    Cheers from Seattle!!

      Man THANK YOU for for the minute marker. I had no idea what discs you were referencing. Those are speakers. The Pinnacles have multi-zone sound systems with front, rear, and outside zones all able to be turned off independently.

      As for the static image of the floorplan..... I was referring to your newer videos. Obviously this one doesn't have it. I just wanted to say thank you while it was on my mind.

    Is jayco continuing the Designer for 2018

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  7 років тому +1

      No, they are not. Pinnacle is already a level above where *nearly* all other MFGs stop producing fifth wheels. All of Designer's layouts were already available as Pinnacle models, and with the '18 updates they quickly realized Pinnacle had cannibalized anything Designer was supposed to do.

  • @davidaukofer
    @davidaukofer 7 років тому +3

    Apparently this 5th wheel doesn't know the expression "roughing it", unless the owner is thinking of towing it with a 1/2 ton or what I saw, a guy towing a keystone cougar with a nissan frontier. I'm not making that up.

    • @LargeEventPlanner
      @LargeEventPlanner 6 років тому

      Not necessarily. My husband and I took our 40' fifth wheel camping approximately three weekends a month and it certainly was not our home. It was so much easier than any other RV we owned. We left it stocked with most of the food; and my husband thought it was so much easier to pull and set-up. We had duplicates of things we used daily in our house so we'd just fill the water tank, grabbed the dog, and off we'd go - no packing. So perhaps we made it our weekend cottage but we did the same with other RVs we have owned. We eventually sold it and went to a motorhome which we have regretted ever since. I loved our fifth wheel.

    Hi Josh. Thank you for the time you put into making these videos. My first question is "Do you still carry Jayco Designers, and if so may you please do more videos on them if you can and are willing?". We have a 1998 Designer, so it is interesting for me to see what the new ones look like. However, I do know that we are not nessiaarily interested in purchasing one, so I understand if you don't decide to do this. My second question is "I know the dealership that you represent represents multiple brands so it may be hard to answer, but which rv brand do you believe tends to have the most value in their rvs?". Thank you!

    Josh do you all still sell heartlands? Big country

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  6 років тому

      We stopped carrying all Heartland products several years ago. Comparing products and prices we felt there were other products that offered a superior overall value to our clients. A Montana High Country would be an example in this case. Or perhaps an Open Range.

    hey Josh, I know you guys sell Forest River, have you seen the Rivers tone and Legacy lineup? are you guys planning on getting some in? would love to see your review on those bad boys 😁

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  7 років тому +2

      We offer certain Forest River products, but that doesn't give us access to all of them. The brands you've mentioned are sharp for sure and have some neat qualities, but they're ultimately not popular pieces with which high volumes of sales are found. We have focused on the brands that have found greater popularity and success in the market as they are the brands and models that tend to be a little more stable and less likely to change significantly with model year updates. We like reliability and accountability at our place.

    Josh rocking the dad bod.... Another great walk thru..Love the 102 in wide body...Maybe you can answer this question. .Why is the industry standard warranty on 2 yrs??? That coach costs alot of $$$$$$$$... Something I have always wondered...

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  7 років тому +1

      Industry standard warranty *ISN'T* 2yrs. It's 1. *JAYCO'S* warranty is double industry standard, and there is no MFG with a longer warranty. There are brands that tout a "3 Year Warranty." It's malarky. Read the fine print. It covers nothing and they have a normal 1yr warranty.

    • @J.Cameron.Stuart.Adams.
      @J.Cameron.Stuart.Adams. 6 років тому

      So what's the answer to why is the warranty only 1 or 2 years? Our new homes have a 10 year, autos are 3 to 5 (even as high as 10 for the drivetrain and corrosion), and even electronics are switching to a full three year warranty. Is it because RV manufacturers own the companies selling extended warranties? Or? With autos we've been "programmed" to get a new vehicle every three years. However with RVs we tend to hold onto them for 5 years. Or 11 years, as was the case for my first rv. Now, like the auto industry, RVs are evolving rapidly with newer, better technology and improvements to build quality and materials, enticing us to trade up sooner than we "need" to.
