- For the last several months, longer even, I have been struggling. I really let fear rule me. Fear of the known, fear of harassment, fear for our safety, fear of failure, fear of going backwards and fear of moving forward... so many fears about moving into this new phase of our life. I let my fears overwhelm me me and choke me into silence. So, I pulled back and focused on enjoying the journey as best as I could. Imperfectly overcoming our many obstacles along our move has been an adventure. I could just leave it at, we moved. I could scrap all of my footage. That would be easier, and perhaps satisfying for some. While it's hard to face some of my feelings when I look back at what I recorded, I am doing just that. First, I wanted to say hello. And, it's important to and for me that I share; I am ready.
I have found a calm in my storm, and I am ready to face all of the ups and downs in my recent months, and begin to share the majestic beauty found in Hawaii.

My name is April Lauren, I share bits of my story here on UA-cam, I'm a RYT 200 Yoga Instructor with a background in public relations and communications and my husband is in the Army. We recently pcsed (moved) to Hawaii, and are finding our footing. Summer of 2020 my weight reached 352.8, miserable and full of fear, I knew I had to change. I couldn't keep crash dieting and failing... cycling. I took a different approach. I decided to figure out what my body needed, what I needed and to take full responsibility for weight and my progress... And thus my weight loss journey began. With patience, kindness and determination, I began. I am halfway to my weight loss goal of losing 200 lbs and have found a passion for fitness and running. And, I'm training for my first half marathon. I look forward to sharing my progress, bits of my story and our adventures. Thank you for encouraging me.

Hey Lauen! It's the "ALOHA SPIRIT"! My Daddy was in the Navy so Hawaii was the 1st home I remember. Age 2-6. I have so many wonderful memories.

I remember that at one time you were hesitant about moving to Hawaii was because of your dogs. So many people would have rehomed their dogs when faced with such a move. You should be commended for your commitment to your dogs.
yes!!! it’s very sad how often pets are disposed of, so it’s lovely to see when they’re treated like the family members they really are ❤
Pets are family, don't get them if you can't commit! And we already know April is a decent human❤

April! Loved the video and you seem so calm and peaceful!! I've been to Hawaii once and I loved the smallness of it compared to big cities! Glad you got the German Sheddars there too! April, I knew you would love it! I lived in Kaneohe for 3 years and the people were and are fantastic. The drive coming over the Pali back to Kaneohe was my favorite view. The mountains, waterfalls and ocean all combined. Please continue to explore the beauties of Hawaii. 💕💕💕 Loved the scenery of Chinamans hat and the beach.

@@kaylaortz She took her hands off the wheel completely a few times. Cruise control in most cars only affects the speed. Even in Teslas you should keep your hands on the wheel
There are so many wonderful trails and hikes there! You will have a lot to enjoy. My husband and I were there for a few weeks in 2017. The rainforest hikes are my fave.

So thrilled to see another video. Moving is one of the most stressful events and more so when you have to be away from family. Glad you have made it through it all. I think God sent kind and loving people into your path to let you know He is there for you and it's going to be okay because He's on your side. When He takes you through a tough trial you will find yourself on the other side in a wide expanse of Grace.

Hi April, Thanks for sharing. You brought back memories for me. Thanks you. I lived in Pear City for about a year and half. Then I bought a condo in Eva Beach. Trust me you will be fine. There’s lot of things to do there. While I was there I didn’t want to leave. Some of my military friends left on Vacation to go to the main island. But I open the other hand, I didn’t want to leave and I was glad that I enjoyed every minute of it. God Bless you and your hubby. Sending you much love.❤❤

Wow! April. This is all so tough. I moved from Germany to the states and then in the following 6 years moved like 7-8 times. Makes life so hard. You are doing a lovely job!❤ and I hope you can get settled at some point. I do think that military can apply for permanent duty somewhere… might be worth looking into.

Welcome to Hawaii! We moved from Oahu to Maui about 8 years ago. My husband is Kanaka Maoli and a veteran.
Oahu has so much to offer. But come visit Maui if you get a chance. It’s an even slower pace of life.

Enjoy Hawaii! It’s so beautiful. I went to college on the north shore and miss waking up and seeing that scenery every day! There are so many fun races at Kualoa ranch. I know you and your husband are into that, you should look into those!

@AprilLauren 😄 bc they say the speed limit is 25 and it takes forever to get anywhere! My niece and her husband almost got sent there. He opted for early retirement, because with two kids and the limitations on items to be sent over, she did not like the idea. Plus it was the year that to Cyclones were bearing down on Hawaii for the first time in 80 years and that freaked her out
