Wish there was a auto/sync on gain in Rekordbox when analysing the tracks so all tracks are playd with the same volume. Wish Pioneer include this in all mixers from now on. 1. Auto gain 2. A rec usb port
I love the Traktor Kontrol S8 and wish they'd bring out a mk2 version of it. Maybe once they FINALLY get live stem separation in the software we can expect this!
I'm STILL surprised that for Engine DJ, they are not going down the route of "offline" STEMS, where you just prepare the STEMS upfront, like you can with Serato. I use this feature in Serato all the time, as I have an older laptop. That would negate the issue of not having the CPU horsepower to do online STEMS on standalone gear.
I think this is a good idea. The prep should happen on the laptop app. I am guessing this is how AlphaTheta will eventually implement it on its standalone gear.
I’ve got a traktor s8 it’s a wicked bit of kit… I’ve got some pioneer xdj700’s just for practicing on rekordbox…. Every time I record a mix I still use my s8 on traktor… I play drum n bass/jungle
I set my gain on a song by using the EQ/VU meter to get the loudest bass bump to light up the red :) then we are good. You dont want to light up the red the whole time, just the loudest thumps and the rest falls into place. basically sets the top of the input to hit the redddd zone.
Hello community, I just installed recordbox 7 and I own an opus quad. I hear you don't have to pay if you own pioneer hardware but is showing me recordbox 7 as a trial. Not sure why I am missing here.
Another great show, im gutted i couldn't make it live. I know your very busy but is there any chance you could do a mini review on djuiced as it seems appealing especially as far as im aware you dont need to pay subs for extea fearures
Hey guys - any of you got tips to improve the RekordBox intelligent Cue function introduced in RB7? Perfectly curating 5-10 tracks, even 20 or 30 tracks in the "learning" playlist still does almost nothing. I have set all cues in the same fashion (1st verse/buildup (A), 1st chorus/drop (B), the "down/bridge" point (C), the second or last chorus/drop (D) and finally the outro (E). cue points are indeed not following the order from my "learning playlist". e.g. i never have the A cue at the start of the track, but the intelligent system always put one there. (I have the A cue usually in the first verse or buildup after an intro). Many times it also puts later cues before each other (B before A, C before B and so on). How many tracks should be in the learning playlists for the best results? How should i prepare my tracks in that playlist to get the best results? Or is the analysis engine just that bad at the moment and they need more data to iron those bugs out? Thanks
You want a personal reaction? Ignore it. Set your cues yourself. Never been a fan of these auto cue features and nothing about this one so far changes my mind.
I have a question & if you can help me out! so in RB7 i need to press on Display Collection to search for a song? ( Im okay with that! ) but if i need to add this song to a new playlist! what should i do? because its very easy to do that on RB6! (drag & drop ) And the reason to do that im a wedding dj! so i like to prepare my bride & groom music in one playlist.
can old equipment be used: I use 2 generations old hercules hardware and it works as it should. problem is always when you get to a live stage, you need to bring ur own gear if it isn't compatible with pioneer decks or such.
old midi controllers may have some bugs and weird hardware features. my eks xp-5 controllers crashed of every small electric spike. hercules air control has really weird difference between the outputs (master lacks bass)
about gain levels: I've struggled with these since I stopped using vinyl/cd. Leds worked then just fine, but for some reason my controllers haven't had useful volume leds ever. They lack headspace and are basically always on when track is playing. Only way I've found possible to adjust them lower is gain knobs, but that also affects the sound and I like my gains in 12 o clock. If you put gains down and master up, sound isn't optimal.
nowadays I trust more on new track mastering really. it's the old music and bootlegs that are mastered differently. tracks from quality labels are mastered so that you don't need to touch levels really. good monitoring is essential for good results. don't blame yourself, if you can't get the volume right with headphones only.
with kids and dj gear: I'd wait til they kinda understand how to protect their hearing. it's very easy to have illusion you should be hearing things from headphones, turn up the volume and then push play and get that 100+ db on your ears.
Actually stems DO sound better in SOME cases. I've had tracks that were totally unusable with a crackling sound (like the buffer is too short, but it didn't improve it when I increased it) and now they just sound like the others. Not clean or whatever, but better none the less. Sometimes even usable during a transition.
@@digitaldjtips I know, but still: tracks that produces shit with 6 work with 7. How do you explain that? Track in question that doesn't work with 6: outhere brothers - don't stop (wiggle wiggle) (ohb radio version) (club version as well, so it isn't the file or format) That song didn't work with 6, and with 7 it does. So even if it didn't change, something did change.

I planning to get a Macbook Air M2 with 8 gb Ram! In your opinion is it enough to play stems in the new Rekordbox 7? Thank you!
Get 16GB for stems.
I love the Traktor Kontrol S8 and wish they'd bring out a mk2 version of it. Maybe once they FINALLY get live stem separation in the software we can expect this!
Doubt they will in all honesty

Nobody knows which route they are going down as they are still developing it.
Great Gain tips

Yeah, it offers a lot of control.
Also do 60s-90s classic rock re-edits/mashups and open for live bands. Popular w/ 50+ audience. Some come on stage to see what/how I'm doing it.
Love it Larry!

Sounds good
Will Serato allow DJ to interact with multiple DJing sources like Rekordbox ( using beatsource, tidal and soundcloud) with just a switch of a button?
No, Serato only lets you use a single streaming service at a time.
40:20 I loved that 😄
Hello Phil. Rekordbox 7 will not work on my old 2012 Catalina right? Thank you.
No idea, but it's definitely time for a replacement I'd say.

I have a question about Serato and Numark nvii. How do I assign stems to the pads rather than using a mouse ? Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion, very few of our audience uses it which is why we don't have resources to dedicate to this platform.
Can the auto transition time be adjusted like in VDJ (midi mapp to change per amount of beats or user selected time ) ?
Don't think so
Afro house 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Dj Renee here. Great seeing you!
Thanks for coming
Just picked up your new DJ book on pre-order for .99. Can't wait to give your new one a double read as well.
Thanks!

We have yet to play with this - we will take a look!
I use numark 4trak, old but still works with virtual dj anyway
Good to hear!
You feature VDJ and I miss the live stream! darn! Too bad not too many questions about it - mostly RB7 complaints lol.
We didn't go into too much depth, as nobody asked any questions about it!
😂😂😂😂😂😂 I install RB 7 but every time I load a song the program crash… why?????😊 3:46
I install RB 7 but every time I load a song the program crash… why?????
I use an S8 and 2 SL1210s (ithink it is the ultamate Traktor setup, not V portable tho)
Agree Peter!

Yes, if you're only playing current music it's all mastered so loud anyway that you rarely need to go near the gains
They removed the slideshow and no delete to recycle bin
We'll take a look!
"Being an old guy, what excites me is 7 inches" Phil 2024! lol :) 29:23 Rock on!
Ha ha!
DJay Pro by algoriddim has auto gain??? Where are the settings/controls for that? 😮
Maybe it doesn't! I thought it did though, will check next time I'm in there
Go to settings, than to sound. There you will find Auto-Gain.

They haven't changed since launch
