The fact that AlphaTeta hasn't added side by side waveforms (a la Tracktor) is insane. I really suffered from this before transitioning to CDJs.
At 3:00 you can simply hover over the waveforms and scroll with your mouse to zoom in/ out too

Holy shitbags. This was incredibly useful. Best tips for me - show/hide platter, sub browser, find in browser. Brilliant. Any chance you could name the shortcut timecodes? That would be super super helpful.

love your short tips new to record box 40 years on vinyl and cd time to go further but having sound quality issues with software i use tidal and beatport currently and running 96k please help
You can also zoom the waveform if using a mouse with a middle wheel. Just hover over it with the pointer and scroll the wheel up or down. It's probably more a windows than mac thing, but still something I found by accident.

6:55 If we get that advanced functionality in Rekordbox 41, then maybe we'll also get Traktor-like method of adding new tracks to collection in Rekordbox 76. Going from "just throw a bunch of tracks into a specific folder and Traktor will auto-add them to your collection next time you start it" to "move them out of the Downloads folder, start Rekordbox, drag them manually before you forget about them, occasionally select all and drag them into Rekordbox to make sure you haven't missed any of them" has been a truly spectacular downgrade.
Have we figured out how to change the BPM decimals from two decimal points to one? This would be huge for me on an flx4 with sticky tempo faders

Love your videos Chris, learnt everything about Rekordbox from your videos! Quick question if I can ask? Is there a known audio quality issue recording sets on the FLX4? Have heard it could be due to the sound card but wondered if you’ve encountered it? Whenever I record in Rekordbox the audio sounds awful, even after running tracks through Platinum Notes first
I kinda felt the same … everything I recorded seems a bit rough… i changed to a new controller and was way better …. I still use the flx4 for outdoor but now I do the output over laptop with an focus rite audio interface between laptop and speaker … for me sound is way better now
@@johnnyk.3635 thanks for replying, have been tearing my hair out trying to figure it out! Converting tracks to AIFF/WAV/MP3, different settings within Platinum Notes, converting them back, then running it again!
Have seen a few people have the same issue, have tried removing headroom within RB, trims are almost as low as they can go!
So the flx4 is not a bad controller …especially for the little price but the build in sound card (and probably the mixer as well) is just not the best I guess
As the new rotary mixer was released, there are some videos about the hardware which is actually used in the different controllers wich gives a good understanding of what different hardware build means for the „output“
@@johnnyk.3635 I’ll have to check that out, thanks! Am looking to upgrade so am hoping that will resolve the audio issues, like you said a lot of people have said the differences are night and day between the entry stuff and more premium stuff

Hey Chris,
Do you know how to restore history? Deleted all my songs so I could reorganise. I then realised all my Dates and lists were still in the history tabs but the song counts were still showing zero
I've reimported my library and the songs are in the collection but when i go to the history tab the playlist dates i've played are still there but track count still says zero... Hope you can help Thanks

Am I crazy? I've been dragging and dropping new tracks directly into a playlist within Rekordbox for ages and it works fine, the track gets added to both the collection and the playlist in question. I'm on Windows though so maybe it's a weird MacOSism?
Yeah you can drag and drop directly into a playlist (one benefit of the more long winded method). But importing directly just puts it into the collection even if you are viewing a playlist
Where is the sync manager?
In Export mode. Dropdown top left
I'm not seeing the "drunk apostrophe"
Bottom left (on Mac at least). Or you can remap it
