Phil, my relation to you is bigger than yours to me, but I think you welcome to hear: After re-strarting DJing after a few years pause and just two gigs (at my barber) I have my first club gig next week (it's in the biggest disco in town!) and I like to say that you helped me a lot and I want that you can be proud of all your initializations you enabled. Yes, we/I move the platter & make the promo & marketing, but you gave us/me a lot of theory we/I could/can/will use to become where we are and where we will go. You can be proud and happy about what you give into the world. Promised: I will multiply your good impression and bring this smile to the people... I could write much more, but the essence is: Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your doings! You are the spark plug for a loooot of happy people & good vibes! Phil... Thank you! You are awesome... [EDIT: typo]
Thanks for taking the time to share that - I popped up to my daughter's performing arts group yesterday to talk to them and let them know that we appreciate them very much and all the work they do, it is really nice when people who work hard to help others get this kind of feedback, maybe yours to me was karma for mine! 🤣
Won't lie, pausing the video at key moments (and using zoom) to get a closer look at the Performer. Some interesting effects on those buttons. Think I see a: roll, filter roll, flange and a "recycler." There are more but those stood out. Wondering if we will see a nice price drop on the Rane Four and One. Also, do they not make the Rane 72 anymore? Haven't seen it about.
Phil, do you think Denon DJ will release any new controller soon? I wish they can merge 2 6000 with a mixer just like how pioneer did with the opus quad
Hi Phil, question to do with streaming services....at this stage, Tidal is charging extra for using stems.... why isn't Spotify a plyer in this, competition to Tidal? or UA-cam music? im very surprised that no one else has entered the battle for streaming with stem support, what's your thoughts?
Random question, brotha.... But I'm REALLY hoping you can help with my issue here....I am totally stuck on the Sony MDR-V700's from "back in the day", and have found nothing that is as comfortable, clear, and loud (Durability be damned. LOL) Do you have any suggestions at all for some cans that could be damn close to those? Thanks in advance. Cheeers.
#ask Phil: how come you pretty much only see MACs used in music production/DJing? I’ve never really been a MAC person myself and I think to myself, do I really have to get a MacBook to laptop DJ? Am I missing out on something?
hello from Melbourne Aus, can never see these live as middle of the night. anyway my thought/questions I've jumped in and got a flex4 which is excellent. just a bit fiddly with some of the fx controls from my pov. i've realised that since starting streaming on twitch 2 weeks ago which i'm doing twice a week, i'm just mixing only then. i'm listening to tunes and getting playlists ready, but realise i'm 'saving' my mixing until i'm live which I think I need to stop. by adding a practise mixing session in between or something. has anyone else done that..?
Any chance i get I'm on my controller/laptop - (Serato pro) because I'm very green with Serato, I'm trying to get used to the program, making mixes/mash ups on the fly, so my point is, the more time mixing, the better you get... streamed on FB live. But got muted due to copyright, does twitch do that?
RX3 shutting down apparently by itself ... I was playing at a camp with ungrounded outlets, to which the responsible people were irresponsible and shrugged their shoulders and said that they were unable to address it then. I was pulling off shocks and once the controller gear just rebooted. Will never play there again. I prefer to live.
I've had controller (or sound card) crashing because of some sort of electric/ground issues. One laptop also had bad usb port and I think one controller had a bad usb cord. My tip is get far away of such hardware that shows up unreliability. Treasure the reliability of your gear. I'd say don't even update your hardware/windows etc. if you absolutely don't have to, but there's also risks and problems with that. you shouldn't use such pc to other stuff really. My last updates went like: Had to buy new laptop since old one crashed sound card when plugged in --> could play only 2 hour sets. Traktor 2 didn't work with new processors --> had to buy Traktor 3. After tedious moving library and mapping, I figured out that new windows can't handle m4a files currently which are like 30% of my old library maybe. I'd have been just fine with Traktor 2 to begin with. :D If I'd have known of this problem, I might have even had just an older pc that works with old Traktor, but it's also a reliability problem to some extent. Hate this stuff. :D
wish I could keep buying music simple so that apple wouldn't force those m4a files on me, so I wouldn't have to convert them to mp3. :D it's already like insane amount of work. there's just more and more exclusives and weird pricing nowadays. dunno how to make things more simple, if doing it legally.
@@digitaldjtips also, this non-standard file situation is the biggest thing still keeping me in mp3. Lossless cannot succeed, if there's no correct file available in every store or every file just works as well as mp3 does at minimum.

Good Morning, Phil. From North Las Vegas.
I'm in Summerlin lol
Hi!
I live around Henderson, NV
Great video Phil!
Glad you enjoyed it
hey, nice too see them letting you showing us the Rane Performer already, it looks sleek!
Yeah, it's a weird embargo when we're allowed to show but not tell!
i think DJing can really help you mentally n lessen ptsd effects on a person. btw do you think pioneer/alfa theta will kill off the opus quad?
1. Agree! 2. No, no time soon

All will be revealed imminently...

No idea, sorry!
#Ask Phil, can I adjust the Crossfader on the Hercules Impulse 500 manually?.
You can in VDJ settings

All of the DJ software-enabled services except Apple Music let you use stems, Spotify withdrew from this market a while back.

You mean you haven’t broken the hinges on yours? Well done! But sorry no suggestions

You're fine with a Windows computer, don't worry about it!

anyway my thought/questions

Yes, it's definitely worth practising! Make playlists and DJ from those.
No, Twitch doesn't do that, at least not for livestreams (VOD is different)
850's don't have quantized loops or any cue points

That is very unusual

I feel your pain! didn't know windows cannot handle m4a

Crashing RX3. Usual the USB stick
Good point
I see MIC FX instead of ECHO. and REVERB instead of RISER.
Dj family Phil is like the dad, mojaxx is the cool uncle and crossfader team like the big brother
🤣
👍👍👍👍👍👍
