I know this is an old video, but are you able to have a custom nameplate for simply keeping frames on your screen for a tall mob? For instance, in Ulduar, while tanking Steelbreaker I need to be able to see his nameplate for his Fusion Punch cast and to see if he is standing inside of a Rune of Power, but his nameplate is so high up because he's so tall, that I cannot see it unless I angle my camera up. If there's a general setting for tall mobs keep the nameplate on screen that would work as well. Thanks in advance!
I love your Threat Plate profile and have been using it ever since I found your video. It has really helped me do better in dungeons with interrupts and knowing what is important. Do you plan to share your profile for Dragonflight?
Thanks for the video! I found it really helpful! I have one question though. Whenever I get into combat, the scale and transparency settings are reset to default. Do you know what could cause this?
Yeah, if you have the threat system enabled, it is mostly likely overriding things. You can fix it by going to threat plates menu -> threat system -> scale. Then check the boxes that say "Enable Threat Based Scale" and "Use Threat Scale As Additive Scale." Now you can adjust it to your liking.
Thank you. I have had this addon for a while and missed a setup option which kind of left me wondering why I even loaded the addon up. I see it now, and when I get back to my PC, I can fix it to make it work like I wanted. (I can also fix the headline look I setup by accident on non-targeted players).
Hi thanks for the great guide one question left for me. Where do I change the scale of Debuff and Dots on the Enemy Targets Plate? The default configuration seems too small :c
Headlineview doesnt work for me.. I enabled all nameplates for friendly and enemy mobs but when i enable headline view for friendly players and NPCs it doesnt change as shown in video

Does anyone know if its possible in TP etc., to make the groups TANK nameplate bigger? I'm playing Aug Evoker so we need to apply certain buffs to tanks etc., i.e., Blistering Scales. When in a large grp or raid for instance, the Wow Raid frames make all nameplates the same size, making it hard to quickly focus who the tank is (without of course making the tank a focus target)
I got a question: I made a profile for myself and each time i go into a dungeon the nameplates add an extra Threat glow on the target which doesnt show up on target dummies when i test , why is that? how can i make my template not change in dungeon? is there any dungeon section specific that changes each time you enter a "dungeon instance"? because it's getting really frustrating each time i go into a dungeon my nameplates change , thanks alot in advance!
Hi!! sorry I just had one quick question!! I really like to move my namplate and my targets name plate to be lower in relative to my actual character. How do I simply unlock the nameplate to move it down lower like you can normally? I cannot FOR the life of me find out how to do it. The normal right click on frame option in the drop down menu is gone now!!! :( please help!!!!
Hey. Thank you for a great guide. I do have a question. In the KUI version, you are able to mess around with “mouse over” with out clicking on the target. can we do that with this addon?
Thanks! Unfortunately, you can't change too much about the appearance of the mouseover in Threat Plates. Under "General" -> "Healthbar View" there is an option to toggle the mouseover border on and off but I'm not aware of any options to customize it further.
Hey just been having a problem with threat plates in dragonflight, first time healin and when im in a bg its not showing my team mates health over there head.
The "M+ Interrupts for Threat Plates" string is a set of custom nameplates that should work in your existing profile. Try importing it as custom nameplates instead of a profile and see if that works.
As a healer I want to see both health bars of the enemies as well as my allies but I want the enemy health bars to look considerably different from my friendly health bars. Is there a way to do this?

You can't use custom nameplates on players in instances anymore due to people abusing it in the past. It's a bummer - as a healer I used to use it for similar things as well.
i have a issue in the last actualization only with the slow debuffs, that debuffs appear in the right side of my plates and not in the row of debuffs above my target plates

Hey! Just figured this out myself. In the TP menu, under threat system, and then under scale: Make sure you have both "enable threat based scale" check marked at the top, and at the bottom the "Use threat scale as additive scale..." box needs to be checked as well. And that is it! Now you can mess between the threat based scale under > THREAT SYSTEM > SCALE > and targeted scale in > GENERAL > SCALE > to figure out what works best for you

Is there a form to put the amount of health in the bar as plater?? It’s very helpful for pvp. I love your videos, they’re very helpful on the decision time!!
Thanks! Yeah, you can do it pretty easy. In the Threat Plates options: - "Status Text" from the left menu - "Format" tab - Check the "Amount" box Let me know if that doesn't work.
Yeah, you can go under the "Threat System" tab at the top of the settings window and then go to "Scale" on the side and disable the scaling based on threat.
Is there a way I can show my own health bar? I've seen asmongold use it on his own character, but I cannot find it myself. I've tried blizzard settings as well which didn't work either.
One of the underlying CVars (built-in settings) probably got changed. You can reset them by downloading the "Advanced Interface Options" addon. From there, type /aio and select "CVar Broswer" in the side menu. Then type "personal" in the search bar at the top. Make sure all 3 variables with the word "show" in them are set to 1 and you should be good to go (if they are set to 0, you can double click, type 1 and press enter to change them). A lot of addons mess with these settings and don't give you a good way to reset them (especially Plater). Hopefully that helps!
Bro i dont understand why i can deactivate friendly nameplates cause i just wanna see icon class on top and then everything disappear too, like i wanna see enemy nameplates and Icon above my friendly player so simple but im stuck
very good video! but i have one issue, when iam fighting big mobs/bosses there nameplates are up in the sky so cant see them. how can i fix that? ^^ ty!
Hey Habba, you should be able to "clamp" your target's nameplate to the screen so it doesn't go up into the sky. From the /tptp options menu, select "Blizzard Settings" -> Nameplates tab -> Make sure the "Inset" sliders are set to something like 10% or so (which is 10% from the top or bottom of the screen where it clamps). Unfortunately, clamping only works for your target as far as I know so any other nameplates will still go off the screen.
Unfortunately, that is not something that is built into threat plates and is more of a plater mod thing. May have to suggest that as a feature to the author of threat plates.
hey thank you for the video ! would you know how to be able to view who is targeting you without you clicking them? it shows your name near there character in game
You're welcome! Here is a quick way to set that up: -> "Healthbar View" side menu -> "Target" tab -> "Enable Text" You adjust the location and size of it with the other settings on the same tab. -Andoris
Yeah, you can do it pretty easy. In the Threat Plates options: - "Status Text" from the left menu - "Format" tab - Check the "Amount" box Let me know if that doesn't work.
So i have an issue, with these settings they're perfect outside of combat but once in a dungeon and in combat all the nameplates go really small again and makes everything hard to see
It sounds like the settings are being overridden by the threat settings. You could try turning off the threat piece of the addon and see if that fixes it. If that works, you can then either leave it off or turn it on and adjust the scale and such under the threat tab instead. Let me know if that doesn't work.
@@ArcaneIntellect hmm, I ended up trying that and everything went out of wack haha, deleting the WTF folder seems to have fixed all the issues I had with threat plates
I know that video is a littil older but i thought i try my chance. Do someone know how i can disable that Threat Plates shows me the enemy cool downs above their heahltbars? Its realy realy annoying in battle grounds.
Hey theCikon, not sure which cooldowns you are trying to turn off in specific. I would start by adjusting the settings under Widgets -> Auras once you get to the Threat Plates menu. All of the icons and information above the health bar are controlled by those auras.
I cant for the live of me find a solution and i cant remember it either but my threat plates are showing at the same time as the normal blizz plates and i cant turn either off without the other in both blizz settings or threat plates settings.
Hmm, that is strange. A little hard to say exactly what is going on... A few things I would try first (in this order): - Double check and make sure there isn't another nameplate addon enabled (things like Plater, ElvUI, can conflict and mess everything up) - Switch to a new TP profile and reset the profile to make sure all the settings are back to default. - Try using another nameplate addon like Plater to see if it is having problems as well. - Download the Advanced Interface Options addon and see if there are nameplate-related CVars that have been changed. Reset them if so because they might be causing problems. - LAST RESORT: Delete some of the cache/WTF folders. This resets your addons and settings so I would be careful and read more about it online before you do it. Hopefully, something else works before then. Hopefully that helps!
@@ArcaneIntellect I do keep getting a message that threat plates is no longer a tidyplates thing or something but i've been using both threat plates and tidyplates together fine for years now. On the other hand new expansions always break addons so i wouldn't be surprised if something is fucked now all of a sudden. I'll check if one or the other causes the same problem and see about those others. I really feel like i just used to disable all the plates in the wow settings and enable them in threat plates and that worked but its been so long :P

Hey. Thank you for a great guide. I play only pvp and want to show better the healthbar from Shadowspriest the pet Psyfiend or the Warbanner from warri to kill it fast. i get ur settings but they not works can u help me pls
Hey Razer! There are a few ways to adjust your healthbars for pets/minions in PVP. The one I would suggest is to use the "Custom Nameplates" tab in the settings. To do this, I would: 1) Go to Custom Nameplates tab 2) Put whatever name you want in the "Name" box (something like "PVP Pets/Minions") 3) Leave type on Name 4) Put a list of the targets you want to change the plates for in a list separated by commas (like Psyfiend, Warbanner, etc...) 5) Go to the "Appearance" tab in Custom Nameplates and change the scale, color, or anything else you want Hopefully that helps!

- Check the "Amount" box
Let me know if that doesn't work.
@@ArcaneIntellect thanks a lot that makes me a lot easier to use it!!
Hi. I enabled the scaling for my target but when i got the agro the scale get back to 100% instead of 130%. Is there a solution? Thank you!
Yeah, you can go under the "Threat System" tab at the top of the settings window and then go to "Scale" on the side and disable the scaling based on threat.
@@ArcaneIntellect Thank you very much!
@@ArcaneIntellect Didn't work, but thanks anyways.
how do you change the debuff sizes?
3:36 is SO IMPORTANT!
TYSM for the videos!
You're welcome, happy to help!
@@ArcaneIntellect Perfect! thank you :D
How do I change the size of debuffs on the target
I don’t understand how tf to l move my name from top left around so I can see my health at the center of the screen
How do you turn on health perecentage on enemey nameplates?
Do you know how to shorten names of mobs? For example: Make it show Wicked Oppressors as just "Oppressors"
Here is a quick way to set that up:
-> "Healthbar View" side menu
-> "Target" tab
-> "Enable Text"
You adjust the location and size of it with the other settings on the same tab.
-Andoris
Question, why is my max distance only set to 46 yet yours goes far beyond that?
This is a blizzard setting not threatplate. Go into your interface settings
How do you anchor your target frame?
Is their a way to add the enemies actual health to the health bar besides just the %? Trying to figure it out but can’t find a setting for it
Yeah, you can do it pretty easy. In the Threat Plates options:
- "Status Text" from the left menu
- "Format" tab
- Check the "Amount" box
Let me know if that doesn't work.
@@ArcaneIntellect that worked thanks for the quick response!
A few things I would try first (in this order):
- Double check and make sure there isn't another nameplate addon enabled (things like Plater, ElvUI, can conflict and mess everything up)
- Switch to a new TP profile and reset the profile to make sure all the settings are back to default.
@@ArcaneIntellect Ok yeah tidy and threatplates were conflicting xD
Should've been able to figure that one out sooner, just a little odd it worked fine with both for so long even with getting the message about them being seperate things now.
How do you show class colors for pvp players enemies?
got this all set up for my hunter, find out max distance for threat plates is 20 meters, completely uselss for a hunter :(
how do you change from health percentage to health remaining? cant find it anywhere
From the menu, go to "Status Text" -> "Format" tab and then turn on "Amount" in the Health Text area!
To do this, I would:
1) Go to Custom Nameplates tab
2) Put whatever name you want in the "Name" box (something like "PVP Pets/Minions")
3) Leave type on Name
4) Put a list of the targets you want to change the plates for in a list separated by commas (like Psyfiend, Warbanner, etc...)
5) Go to the "Appearance" tab in Custom Nameplates and change the scale, color, or anything else you want
Hopefully that helps!
very usefull thanks!
when in dungeon, suddenly the nameplates were like so much higher than they should be from the mobs, I couldn't tell wich bar was with wich mob, is this cuz of stacking option? was realy anoying
yeah it seems theres been some changes i used to use threat plates years ago and it was perfect now its kind of a mess i don't know whats happened
@@OnkelTomAngelripper1 its better now idk what I changed xD but do you maybe know how to fix the nameplates with giant bosses? I always have to zoom out max and look upwards to be able to see it, is there a option for a max height ?
@@savitarr1162 I think that's due to stacking nameplates
Sadly you completely skipped over the part how to enable HP view on enemys, you have it on from one segment to the next without any explaination :c
Thanks a bunch
