      @@L663 Hi, I kindly need to pick your brains on something ive just noticed on my L494 V6 diesel.
      Ive noticed a long dangling black tube hanging out of the engine bay, traced the tube and looks like it is attached to the bottom of my fuel filter. Just wondering if this is rigjt or needs to be attached to something than dangle out of the vehicle?

    Wow...what a misadventure with the fuel system. I am really impressed you figured it out got code written too! Amazing how much programming goes on in to cars today and the 'AI' they have. It's quite scary, you really have to put your in the place of the ECU and how it thinks and what it has been programmed to do, react and behave. Always interesting to watch you videos! Great stuff and keep it up.

    Excellent, loved the whiteboard demo. Bit like being in school but it was interesting.
    Next mission, work out what the extra electrical feed is for on top of the tank.

      I figured that one = looks like it is for deployable side steps - seem to have been removed from the car - possibly as a result of the crash !

    Now I understand what a Missfuelling Man was telling me a while ago (no I was not his customer!) in that cleaning out a tank on many cars can be a 4/5 hour job and he told me about removing the seats etc. He also told of the electronic problems you get and that running a diesel low is a very very bad idea indeed as it is difficult to reset everything....we have moved on from pumping out air locks like on a tractor, modern cars are far more complex. So Simon...give up these fuel tests..it makes us all nervous!!! 😱😱😱😀😀😀....but we do enjoy hearing of your adventures though!! Stay safe! Richard😀😀😀😀

      I see "your friend" put the wrong fuel in...I have done a couple of trips in the cars so now we are getting low so the test should happen this week ! fingers crossed !

    Hi great video! I have a 2017 Land Rover discovery 3.0 v 6 super charge. I live in America and can’t seem to find anything on the engine’s firing order. Can you please let me know if you know the firing order on this vehicle. I have a code p0061 bank (2) sensor 3 but I’m not sure which side is bank (1) or bank (2) to change it. I think all North American vehicles are different because of the right hand drive. If you know can you please let me know thank you.

    Curious, where do all these land rovers come from for these videos? i'm guessing a dealer doesn't lend you them for the videos for you to take apart? Interesting videos and I like the content esp the new defender. just curious.

    And that is why you need tools with bidirectional controls nowadays otherwise you really can't test / calibrate, prime components properly. Surprised the Snap-on tool didn't have the capability to do it by default unless it has really old software on it. Did you check under functional tests?
    I think the min fuel level before priming is stated in the workshop manual. I can understand that you might have been pulling air on one side of the tank through the venturi not giving you the correct fuel delivery until you added more fuel to above the tunnel level.

    • @L663
      @L663  4 роки тому

      I was not a pro on the snap on tool - but i looked in most menus and could not find anything .. also the guy at the garage took a look too. In functional tests i could turn the pump on and test it worked but it would not reset so that i came on with ignition...
