The German VK 45.01 (P), or the Porsche Tiger as most people know it, is a rare sight in War Thunder. It trades armor effectiveness for a bit more mobility, but it's still pretty fun. I'm surprised it isn't more expensive on the Gaijin marketplace.

Constant full uptiers are a feature, not a bug. Gaijin has confirned it is an intentional choice of the matchmaker to full downtier four people on each team and full uptier at least half of each team.

It is known already that you typically only get 3-4 downtiers for 10 battles on average, but thats not the case for 6.3-6.7 for past couple of months, you'll get one downtier in 20 battles at best if at all, spending the rest playing 7.3
@@ayanamikai because 7.3 is overcrowded with morons using one or two 7.3 vehicles and then a bunch of rank rank 2 stuff to fill out their lineup. The matchmaker will give you more downtiers if you have a bunch of garbage in your lineup, or if you squad with someone who doesn't have the right BR vehicles. So you get uptiered against one death leavers in Leo 1s and IS-3/6 who literally can't get a kill unless they face 6.3

@@ayanamikai are you delusional? I get one downtier for every 20-30 games. 80% of my games are full uptiers. I play 3.7.
It is honestly incredible how every single Br gets uptiered constantly. Changing and carefully considering your lineup to be put in a match against vehicles with Br that you avoided (at your own hinderance) is yet another frustration that is unmatched in any other experience. I am just about done with this "game" tbh. Thanks for making and sharing Sir Spookston!
I have had several games in the last week that my WHOLE team was 5.3 against a whole team of 6.3 (over 75%)
@@michaelstjohn6086 Yah I believe it. Feels alot like being "fed to" seal clubbers too. Level 100 players with maxed crews makes it pretty difficult in a straight up battle, and all together seems like Spook said.... Like Gaijin actively try to make us not want to play. Good luck out there!

That thing is insane. You can kill IS-3s from the front. Eat marders, BMPs, Leopards, etc for breakfast. I've gotten four kills at 7.3 just being an absolute bastard with the bloop tube

Can't talk moster HE without mentioning the 15cm sIG 33 B SFL aka the bison it's got one of if not the most powerful HE shell in the game.....at 1.0
You should play the British tier 2 Sarc MKVI 6Pdr. It is very fast ( I call it the Super Awesome Race Car ). It has the British 6 pounder and is very good for 3.3. It goes by no armor best armor and if you get shot in the turret you die no matter what ( 3 crew, 2 in turret). It’s got a .50 cal on top for AA and shredding milk trucks. It’s funny because it recoils a ton, and no matter what will land on its wheels probably to counter the recoil. I also think that the crusader II is fun. It’s I think 2.0ish and is super fast, good fun and I believe ( in a British tank) APHE. it is great for capping points, running along the sides and flanking the enemy.

The Sarc 6pdr is good at it's BR. Like really good. Not many oneshots with it but it does the job. Good line up with the Achilles and a 3.3 plane.

At this point I have reasons to believe Gaijin gives bad players for Spookston to fight against, making us think the game is fun... while also give more CAS players to punish him. Thanks for listening my TedTalk.
This is probably one of my most played tanks, had it a long time and yes there's glaring weaknesses but I like Porsche's crazy tanks, they just look neat.
I remember this being my first serious event vehicle, getting it back in 2014, and it too is one of my most played tanks
They only let 4 players per side be a full 1.0 BR above the lowest players, getting a full downier is significantly less likely than a full uptier because of that.

That's the case in theory, but it simply doesn't work that way. You usually get a couple poor guys in a full uptier while the rest are .7 above. Sure there's only 4 that are a whole 1.0 above, but that's just the difference between fucked and mega-fucked. Even then it doesn't always work out that way, you often see full 1.0 spread across the entire team
if your aim is considered "not great" my aim is considered a violation of human rights and the geneva convention for how atrocious it is

Honestly, not the worst when played as a bonk n go tank. Excellent reverse speed has saved me far more than angled armor on both the VK45.01 and the Tiger P premium, plus the gun is still as good as its brethren (not to mention extra rewards in this Wal-Mart of an economy…)

Ironically this Tiger which was what Ferdinand intended for army to use, didn't see service and all but one were finished as heavy TDs that, in typical German fashion, were misused as assault guns performing rather poorly. Meanwhile that one tank that actually saw service, was not intended to, but due to shortage of actual Tigers ended up uparmored and pushed into service as essentially a mobile command bunker.

Hey Spook, you should play the Semovente 75/46 M43. It's a deeply overshadowed italian tank destroyer which can deliver an heavy punch but it's deeply ignored the potential it has.

As you can see, PT-76 has everything. It has mobility, good BR, 2-pin stablizer, HEAT-FS and most of all no amour is the best amour. It is 'da most OP vehicle in da game'. LOL
Two weeks ago I actually made a spreadsheet to see how many full uptiers I get at 5.3 with Germany. It was about 85% full uptiers. That BR is hell.

It's not that BR, it's every BR. 3.7 is the same for me. I got 36 full uptiers in a row over 2 days of play.

Same here, I've made a spreadsheet to see that. My USA 5.3 got 90% full uptiers for weeks.
I love the 4501. Ive been using it for years in a triple 5.3 Tiger lineup and have been extremely successful. Along with the Paw Tiger premium, its one of the best GF money making lineups.
I swear there have been significantly more uptiers recently. I played a good number of matches yesterday and only saw 2 down tiers of any value, not even fulls

I debated with a friend (and in comments) that thing where a 88 mm cannon can penetrate a Jumbo frontal plate, on distance, but never at short range.
It also never happened to me with the 75 mm.
My theory was that on "distance" a low velocity projectile "curve" reducing the effectiveness of the angle.
The theories in comments are that the 88 works better against multiple armour plates on distance, because it's heaver than the 75 that has more penetration but on single armour plates.
My friend theory was that the jumbo plate is modelled with "errors" and it has "zero armour" pixels that you can hit if you are very lucky.
Could you please cover the Chi-To? It has decent armor and mobility however the gun is just brilliant for that br.

75mms of big, flat armor at 4.7, which in reality means 5.7, is hardly ‘decent’. And it has worse mobility than literally every other medium except the Firefly (standard variant).
@@robertharris6092 yep. Worse armor. Worst traverse. No smoke. Worse reload. The size of a King Tiger. Worse MGs. Worse lineup. The shell has a lot of HE filler which is nice but no ballistic cap so it bounces easily.

VK 45.01 (P) is genuinely my favourite tank ever built, glad you decided to cover it.
This thing is pretty much the definition of mid. Best thing about it is just the mobility other than that I would probably just take a standard Tiger idk what you guys think though.

If it can drive faster than a tutel and reload quicker that a Sturmtiger with this round - it's automatically good

Spookston, of course they brought a KV-220 backup. It's not like it's the most overpowered tank of its BR bracket and people spam it.
Im convinced 5.3 doesn’t exist as a BR in game, especially for Germany. I was playing it a bunch yesterday and only played 6.3 games. No downtiers at all.

@@ledfut the issue is 5.3 is an extremely popular br for Germany. 4.7 does not exist for most nations nor does 4.3. so to fill matches for 5.3 Germany you're going to get a lot of uptiers.

The Tiger's APHE has one of the most ridiculous HE fillers of any APHE shell in the game, sometimes it can even overpressure tanks!
Hey Spookston! At 8:08 you went to the map to spot the enemy for the whole team, while you can do that without even having to open the map menu!
Hold "Alt" and then with your mouse cursor click on the spot on that little map in the bottom right corner where you want exactly to spot the enemy.

I think it'd be pretty need if you tried the AMX-50 Surbaisse. 6 second 19 round autoloader makes it very interesting to play. The gun also feels quite nice.

try the DF105. Its a real fun heatslinger while beeing pretty tanky for a light tink as of inner armor which split the tank in 2 chambers and the transition and engine eating a lot of shots

If only they had mounted the panthers gun on a tiger chassis, the 88 is alright but 190mm of pen is great to yeet through jumbos.
Don't worry about the uptiers, if the snail mess up your penetration calculation then the problems will start. I play tiger, t34 85 leaves me, I fire forward (not angled), only gets hit, i angled, t34 shoots in frontal armor and kills me.
T34 is just an example, M4 family (non-jumbo) doesn't raise either, even the panther tower doesn't pass (arcades). I played a lot with the tiger but other tanks have the same problem

And no, it's not 2017 but there is still a massive cas spam by mainly US. Yes other countries also spam cas but not in the massive volume's as US cas spam's the most since every fighter in the tt can double as CAS and is used in that way...
How often I have seen a US main which spawned 1 tank, died in it and then wreaked havoc in a plane doing cas, get's shot down and proceeds to spawn another cas 5 more times (because they always have 3-4 planes in their lineups with back-ups)..
Next to how US cas just immediately wins the game because anti-air does not fucking work if there is 5-8 different planes up all doing cas, destroying your ground units and anti-air

The only 2 advantages this has over command version, is the fact you have **slightly** higher speed limits (it's like an extra 3-4kph forward and reverse, really doesn't matter) and 5.3 instead of 5.7

5.3 is a hellscape. I literally started keeping track of matchups and it's about 90% full uptiers with the remaining 10% being nearly evenly divided among 5.3, 5.7, and 6.0. The full downtier rate is less than 1 game in 20.
I've pretty much stopped playing War Thunder because Gaijin told me to get lost when I asked them for help with recovering SL after someone else (From Russia) logged onto my account and maliciously wasted them all, but I still like your videos. Hopefully they treat content creators a lot better than they treat their customers.

Three planes in 30 seconds is quite normal, since if your teammate shoots at something, that tells you there is a target. When you can't spot any thing else, that is what you go after.

This was done with Germany, USA and some USSR.
BRs played were mostly on 5.3, 6.7, 7.7 with some 7.3.

@@michaelstjohn6086 few times I have also noticed, that its possible you can have a 13vs15 match where one team can have 3 +1.0 players and majority of enemy players are capable of deploying +1.0.
It seems most apparent at 5.7 and 6.3 when facing Germany

Hey spookston i've figured out that as long as your shell has about 200g of TNT equivalent itll overpressure an open top or thinly armored tank if you non pen or even splash the round near them

It's pretty dogwater losing your entire tube, and thus your ability to shoot back, to a chipped muzzlebrake. Since the beginning of barrel sweat meta, this has been a problem. Making the barrel part of the collision model is something that pisses off sweats because they can't auto rotate onto someone that out played them in some Newark alley.
Spook really needs a brake from these heavies, he ought to play the Bulldog or the Hellcat

Okay, so Speer didn't tell Porsche that he shouldn't create a version with mechanical transmission, the problem of the tank wasn't engine cooling and not transmission, Porsche didn't plan to make second example with angled armor and the decision made after tests wasn't to scrap BOTH Tiger I after producing 100 examples of each and turn them into SPGs after the refined "hybrid" model with become available? Nah, sure, Kniepkamp's "chess" wheel bullcr//p that exists solely to lower the stress on rubber parts of the wheels(the same way soviets experimented with wheeled drive on BT tanks solely to save on rubber too, but apparently nobody read why T-32 existed and why T-34 needed to perform said 2000km test run) is fine and he didn't leverage his weight as head of Wa Pruef 6 to "win"?

This was the event that broke me on this game, a whole month of grinding only for the last achievement to be wholly based on luck, 3 games won while placing first in the team in a row. It was 100% based on chance based and the reason the vehicle is super rare. This was before you could buy milestones with gold. I didn’t okay WT for 2 years after that.
