I did something similar to one of these skeletons. I used black pallet wrap plastic. I stained my skeleton with wood stain first, just to give it that rotted copse look. Me being me, I had to animated it with pneumatics and stick it in a wooden box. Like you, I bought the pallet wrap for another project. I used it to wrap a bunch of those 275 gallon IBCs for rain water. It was cheaper than painting them. It keeps the light out. That same wire I use in the spray foam arms like you made for those trees, way back when you had your neck surgery. I really like this technique too. Those air sacks they use in shipping would work to fill some space.
I could see doing a milk jug skull, where you form a gallon jug to the skull with a heat gun, and then do the plastic wrap over that, so you can have facial bones poking through.
One last thing. I also used a really defined plastic skeleton head that I cut in half and I fill it with foam and it will make a beautiful mold you can even make teonhalfs and put together for a full head and it costs the price of a 1/4 can of cheap expanding foam. It’s such a phenomenal way to make them and o hope this helps someone. I would even love to see you try my idea on your channel one day 🙏
