I am loving all you do with spray foam, I learn little new techniques with every video. I’ve taught art for around 15 years, and know that there are nuances of things we do by feel, or by “instinct”, and often don’t even realize every little thing when teaching, but you talk through so many details that would make me comfortable to try doing the thing, and that’s actually rare. So many tutorials I watch have at least one note of mystery, and I understand how/why, but you really are a natural teacher, and leave no mystery unturned. You always thoroughly explain choices, often “I plan to do xyz in the future, and that’s why I did this thing at this point in the process.” Even lacking mystery, it’s still so creative and no 2 versions of the same technique will be identical, even when it’s molded, the paint job offers “random” and unique results each time. Your encouragement that people try things and not worry about perfection is so great! Also, that wool roving is so great, because it’s actually organic it murders fake hair 73 times over.
I love these quick and easy projects like this! First i was thinking zombie, then leather face, then Freddy when u put the red on then after the hair i was like Big Foot! Krampus! The possibilities are endless! Ive been working on a Alien Chamber Prop and Ticket Booth this weekend. I got a bunch of pallets and wood from my work. As well as these thick cardboard barrels that our glue comes in all for free. Deffinately gonna make a creepy tree like you made with the buckets and great stuff! Thanks for all you do and being you! You're Definitely one of my favorite You Tubers!!
i like your style kinda like Halloween folk art versus Jordue realism with his latex masks. i think i will set aside the oil clays for abit and try spray foam

That was pretty damn cool....the only part I didn't care for was the purple under its eyes. It was too purple for me, maybe add a little black or brown shading to it (the purple area) and it would look alot better. Just my opinion, but still a great job with spray foam!

I've always used the good stuff foam and that stuff is sticky like tree sap so when I saw him spray water on this stuff and start touching it without gloves....This must be a super different kind of foam...

This guy reminds me of someone I knew that made special effect things for the entertainment industry for television, and film. I used to do some but, never got into making full masks. These projects are well done by Glenn, good job! I used to do paper mache head for molds: the paper mache works well because it gets hard enough to put latex or spray foam on it: same principle used by using a plastic wrap over the mold to keep the latex or foam from sticking to it. This is excellent work by Glenn, great job! 👍👊👏👏👏👏💯

That is so awesome. Some time soon I'm going to have to try and make one. I take different masks and make them into a new mask. For example I made a cheap Jason mask into a scary clown mask
This is also a great idea to locktite over basic foam heads to make your props unique . As a sculpting tool Ill dip a Q-tip in water ( it wont stick because its wet) the Qtip stick minus the cotton head is a great tool for eye wrinkles, gumlines etc
I used a tongue depressor- most Q tips have paper shafts and wont do well being wet for long- no need to wet it though as there is a skin over the foam and it it really is not sticky once the skin forms. Do you mean on another type of foam? I only use locktite this way.
Ill also add that patience is not my strong point. So the wet stick allowed me to shove some teeth into the foam then press down gums and lip lines. 5 to 7 minutes is a Looong time to wait. Lol
cause then I wouldnt know how much of the teeth I needed to paint., I also work dry as long as I can, and do all the wet at the end- its a big secret to working fast.

its just water in the spray bottle, it helps it cure. the paints are latex mask paint because I had them on hand- regular acrylics would be fine, the spray paint is rustoleum 2x and I show the colors as I use them
for some reason the volume for me is so low I cannot hear you well. Did you say NOT wetting the cloth makes it stick? I believe you naturally but that seems anti intuitive to me. How hot do theses insulation foam masks get and how do you clean the inside? I ran a HH (Darkwrath Keep back in the the 2000s) and even with spraying the inside of the latex masks with alcohol every night after we shut down, I still had to throw them away at the end of October.
they will be warm, but you can add vent holes anywhere you want really, so its manageable. you could toss these every year and make a new one for $7, each time you make one youd get better at it! but we have one that is five years old actually
Have you ever tried bulk foam, like used for large scale insulation ? Bulk quantities. That might be more economical than individual cans of Locktite Foam ?

all I really got on my hands was spray paint. and that cleand up with hand sanitizer, cherry bomb and fast orange mixed together. The foam should not get on your hands- Wait for the skin to form. then its a pretty clean affair.

I like a bright color to pop the eyes- especially if the actor wears black eye makeup. but you paint yours any way you like, thats why its art.

Does it need to be loctite? Or will great stuff foam work too?
It really needs to be loctite. I may do a video on trying it with different types, but Loctite foam is a very different material.

That is correct. Not wetting the cloth makes it stick better. Less sliding off of the fibers.

you can just use acrylic, I used latex mask paint because I have it on hand, but acrylic would do the exact same.

Is the loctite a harder more durable foam than the great stuff?
Yes it is, it's much denser.
How durable would a mask like that be if it were used on an outdoor prop?
Its a pretty dense foam, its painted to preserve it- Id give it a few layers of spray polyurethane and then I bet its good to go
