A few years ago I was struggling to find a way to make HAIR for a foam statue (using a foam wig head) so that it looked like chiseled stone bust. Your video making a woman statue demonstrated your hair making trick with the spray foam and you saved my "in work" project from the dumpster. Thanks again for that. The effect was that half the head was normal but the left side was a skull. It was light on one side to show the normal face keeping the skull in the dark. Then a lighting effect would light the other side and simultaneously turn off the light on the normal side so it cannot be seen. The end effect was the stone statue looked like it transformed in the lightning. It was a great but simple illusion I designed and I believe it is completely original idea. Anyway I have always wondered if you had any other can foam tricks like the hair. Maybe Cloth for example like a toga on a roman statue? I know about doing this with real cloth and plaster but i would prefer just foam.

Been doing a lot of experiments with loctite lately, found out on accident if you have a old can that is full but no pressure you can open the bottom and scoop out the resin, it has a insanely long work time took almost a hour till it set for me. Also to smooth I found a wide plastic pallet mixing knife swirled against the surface with good pressure smooths it nicely, think it's the friction heat created that kinds works like a mini heat gun.

UV resin is a great way to add a glassy look to surfaces. And it’s easier to use than epoxy. I always enjoy these builds. The only thing I’m not really fussed on are the layer lines and texture of the foam. Is there a way you could smooth the surface? Sanding perhaps? Or a layer of filler?

    1. Can you paint the loctite foam with acrylic paint instead of spray paint? I only have a few spray paint colors and need lots of colors.
    2. Can you sand the locktite to make it smoother? I'm stil trying to make a jack skellington head since I messed up the first one. I feel like it's so last minute I shouldn't even bother but I'm trying. 🙁
    3. Can you cut the locktite foam, like you can EVA foam, with a "hot wire foam cutter", as long as, you're outside or well-ventilated?
Thanks so much for your help in advance! 😊

      1. YEs
      2. you can, but for Jack Id use a sphere pattern and EVA foam- its already much smoother- EVA clay on top will give you the features, I made one like that a few years ago.
3.you can, but its much easier and less deadly with a knife.

I hate, hate, hate how easy you make sculpting with the foam look. My Halloween corpse I’m making is a disaster.

I don't promote products but I've used Flex Seal on a couple things recently and it's good stuff.

its awesome, but in my opinion, you should have stopped the bust before the end of the shoulders. venom has HUGE shoulders, and seeing him with little shoulders makes him look awkward? not hating, just trying to help!

there are busts that go down to the neck, and then drop down the front like a v-neck, and end the shoulders a bit after passing the base of the neck. im sure youve seen one like that! i think Mozart is a popular bust made this way?@@StiltbeastStudios
