Second year of college, my new dorm mate was first cousin to Don and Phil. When you think of all the greats that came after that wanted to do harmony...like them...The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, and so many more.

That it took these two very talented singers to demonstrate what two brothers from Nashville proves the Everly Brothers were even more talented than we already knew.

I was so sad ,and still am that we lost them , especially when Phil died so young . You two harmonize together very well and I could read your lips as every word was sang out perfectly . I'm thankful we have people like you who keep their spirit alive . I believe there is something about family members that has a distinctive " harmony" in their voices like Phil and Don . Cheers !

I have to say i have been learning these harmonies on so many of your videos and sing on a karaoke app. And i have gotten a lot of duets that I ordinarily wouldnt get. Im not a good singer but im learning through this to control my voice. Thank you for this wonderful gift that you are giving to all of us

Love your video. I wrote out your vocals in standard notation and did an interval analysis. I sing harmony in my band and have been studying counterpoint and pop tunes like Dream. As you might expect, there are are quite a few 3rds, and a 6th in there. My interest is how to handle the perfect intervals. There are a few perfect 4ths and 5ths. The voice leading follows Beethoven's rule: don't approach a perfect interval by similar motion. It's a well constructed piece. Thanks for doing this.

Thank you so much. The Everly Brothers were pure perfection! Thank you for isolating the parts. They blend so well, it is very hard to pick out. But I can now a little bit after your demonstration. I listened to these guys in my teenage years in the later 1950’s and 1960’s. Love them, 💕grew up with them and will never forget them. When I listen now, even being in my mid 70’s, it takes me back to when I was 14/15 and on. I still have their 45 rpm’s.

Please sing entire song but with both harmonies separate, then of course together? That would be most helpful! I love your voices, and as a huge Beetle fan all you do on your Channel is amazing and very appreciated! Thank you so much for all you do!

I remember this was one of the first songs I learned on guitar. It's a simple C, A minor, F and G chord ptogression throughout (alongside dozens of others), . Well done G and your lovely lady. Beautiful.

Amazing to hear deconstructing such a gem of a song by such talented people! If I could sing just two notes like you two, I'd quit my day job. 😊 One of your video captions mentioned that you slowed down the tempo for this lesson. The Everly Brothers sung this song even slower, like a ballad, in their 1983 reunion concert at Royal Albert Hall. Goosebumps for anyone who listens. Love your videos and content. 👍

Are rhere any guitar tabs for the two vocal parts? I'm visual. I need to see the notes and intervals to understand the harmony. Listening only doesn't work for me. I can see two different melodies at the same time and understand it better than I can hear it.

Both of you are great singers but the fact that the combination is male - female makes it sound good but not the same as two males doing the parts. Of course the Everly brothers had a lifetime of singing together and a biological trait in their voices, that lend to the blend.
If anything can be learned from this is that the chemistry and blend, are equally important as the technical placement of the notes.
