Boy this brings back a lot of memories of some of the best years of my life. Songs you can remember and singing you can actually hear the words clearly.
I really enjoyed watching American Bandstand. Dick Clark had the most amazing singers to appear. Will never forget him. The Everyly Brothers are among the greatest singers I've ever listened to. ♥
They were so perfectly synchronized. Their harmonies and body language matched. They shared one microphone. Each leaned into it, and away from it, simultaneously to get the most emotion from the lyrics. What an art. I'm old now, but grew up with their music. These old videos are the last vestiges of an era gone by.
Your Not old Shug,You are Vintage,my late Partner was fond of Saying our Generation had the Best. I miss him so, can hardly listen to "Our music" without Bawling but it brings me some Peace on my heart also. He was a Big Roy Orbison Fan as well. This is the music that entertained two 15 year-olds on the jukeboxes, in the transport cafes, as they cycle toured the south of England in 1959, sleeping in a tent. It was a VERY different time and I consider myself very fortunate have enjoyed it.
Great memories! I'm English, same age too and will never forget the thrill of seaside jukeboxes (some more entertaining than others). What joy eagerly scanning for a favourite 78rpm or later, 45rpm record - not 'disc' in UK then. These are memories for us to cherish forever, just as our music is - we'll never be old listening to gems like this.
At 78 years of age I grew up and was a great lover of real music and real singers from the 50's & 60's as well as some great music from the 70's. In my opinion Don & Phil were the greatest harmony duo of all time. Others were great too, but none better. I often share music from that era with my grandchildren and they really enjoy it. Hopefully, great music such as this will return some time but probably not in my lifetime. Meanwhile, through this media, we can enjoy this great music from the past.
When Simon and Garfunkel last toured, they brought the Everly Bros with them. What a thrill at that show (in Phoenix) to see and hear all four on stage at once. Unforgettable.
Don and Phil are the 24-karat gold standard of popular music. I've heard their songs tens of thousands of times in 54 years, and I'm still amazed by their harmonies.
My girlfriend and I saw the Everly Brothers at Harrahs Reno in the late 80s. They were still a "Class Act". I purposed to her that night, 36 years ago.
In my teens they meant the world to me. Their sweet voices and harmony were great but they sang of real feelings that many of us couldn't talk of ourselves. ❤ They gave me hope in a better day. So sad they are no longer with us.
My dad loved the Everly Brothers. We had a rec room in our basement. He would play their albums at night in the basement. I would fall asleep upstairs listening to these guys sing. Knew all their songs. Now, I’m 65 and listening.
Wow!! Those are my cousins on my mom side. I use to ask why don't they come to our family reunions my mom said they didn't have much to do with the family that there to much into the music. Loved those guys & their music. Loved the days when guys used Brylcreme & slicked their hair back nice & shiny. So better than the dry sheepdog look that later came along.
They were one of my favorite bands from that era along with Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Fats Domino, Elvis, Ernie K-Doe, Huey "Piano" Smith, Lesley Gore, Little Eva, Richie Valens, the Big Bopper and the Coasters. I'm sure you old boomers from that era remember those incredibly talented performers.

They (the three) decided to charter a private flight to the next city rather than take the slower tour bus with there fellow band mates. The plane crashed after encountering bad weather. All three perished. Black & white photos of the crash are available with a google search last time I looked. Back in late 1959, my mum brought home a pile of ex-jukebox 45's, and out of them shone a gem, 'Til I kissed you '. That was it, I was hooked for life and couldn't wait to see them. That Alma Cogan TV show where Don and Phil were backed by the Crickets was my first sight of them and I couldn't believe how good they looked. Thank Brothers for a lifetime of wonderful music ❤
Wow! This also brought back a lot of memories! When I was a teen, probably 15-16, I could listen to them singing Dream Dream Dream over and over! Unfortunately we were too poor to have a record player, so I never bought the 45.😭🤣😂 Thanks for sharing! God’s blessings.
I was a little girl living in Holland. We received American TV once a week, i.e. Nat King Cole, Perry Como, Andy Williams. One of these shows introduced me to the Everly Brothers. I was mesmerized by the harmony, guitar playing! What a great foundation for the love of music. Great post.
The Everly Brothers played at a the National Guard Armory at the end of my street in the summer. I was very little girl, but I remember it well, because of all the nicely dressed girls walking by and all the beautiful 1950’s cars brilliantly shining chrome in the summer 😊sunshine.

Your posting will be my joy forever, thank you.
@@jenniferkay4038 Thank you so much for your appreciation Jennifer . All I have done is string some of my favourite songs together. Their music will live forever. 🙂
I was living in Motown when all this beautiful music came out I was Blessed to have heard all the great songs 🎵 of Motown songs 🎵
Love ❤️ their voices and that they’re Marines‼️‼️🥰🤎💙💚❤️😇. So handsome in their uniforms ‼️‼️
Ja, schöne Menschen entstellt nichts.
Am besten sieht man es auch, wenn die Haare ganz kurz sind und nichts mehr versteckt werden kann.
I have to say one thing about them, they were great. I bought the CD Pack with over 100 songs on them and I love them all.
Loves thems😮❤
I believe this (19:35) was their reunion at the Royal Albert Hall, 1983. I remember an interview with Tom Petty at the time saying they'd flown over from LA for the concert and would do it again tomorrow. I believe that's Albert Lee behind them!
The absolute 💯 best duo of all time !!! Nuff said.
So sad to hear they have passed away we thank God for their work on earth hear we will only remembered but what they have done to t bring some of our hearts to rest with this sweet music may their perfect souls ❤️ RIP 🙏
We'll hear them sing in heaven. Thank God for heaven & for Jesus who gets us there.
You brought back a name. Alma Cogan

Wow! This also brought back a lot of memories! When I was a teen, probably 15-16, I could listen to them singing Dream Dream Dream over and over! Unfortunately we were too poor to have a record player, so I never bought the 45.😭🤣😂 Thanks for sharing! God’s blessings.
This brings sure wonderful memories of my 3 sisters listening to this all the time
I was a little girl living in Holland. We received American TV once a week, i.e. Nat King Cole, Perry Como, Andy Williams. One of these shows introduced me to the Everly Brothers. I was mesmerized by the harmony, guitar playing! What a great foundation for the love of music. Great post.
Thanks for the nice comment Josie 🙂
@@peteroberts4033 OK,-HUNGARY.
RIP
Always enjoyed their songs since teenage years.
16:44 l'm an old woman , 75 years,but i never boried hearing their song.
Das wird es niemals wieder geben, glaube ich. Seit 40 Jahren kenne ich nichts besseres.
The Everly Brothers played at a the National Guard Armory at the end of my street in the summer. I was very little girl, but I remember it well, because of all the nicely dressed girls walking by and all the beautiful 1950’s cars brilliantly shining chrome in the summer 😊sunshine.
What a decade to be alive. Audrey Hepburn, Paris and Rome, USA small towns and big dreams ❤
One of the first songs I learned to sing as a kid was ,Wake Up Little Suzie.👍
