- In this episode of plastic surgery I repaint a Games workshop 3rd edition terminator space marine.
Im not sure what this miniatures original paint job was but Ive always wanted to paint a crimson fist.
I do this service for free as a way to give back to the community.

@@MaverickNicolson Next time you get a funky set of colors, see if you can make it work, try maybe a black main layer with the weirder colors incorporated

What was so wrong with the predaking color scheme
That's amazing but could you please post a longer guide? I have no idea of half of the things you've done. Looks like you primed this thing 3 times.
It's what's called a zenithal prime, though it's a variation on the normal "Black prime, white from above" that lets him get a quick base coat rather than using it to guide the rest of the model.
In this case, he primed black (pretty sure he likes GW's chaos black spray paint, but if you have an airbrush, any dark primer will work. If you don't any flat black spray paint will work), then he base coated either dark blue or purple, gave it another layer of dark blue to increase saturation. Then the zenithal part begins. Coming from the zenith (aka above) with an airbrush (you can use a spray paint here, but the results won't be as clean), he highlighted the dark blue with a mid blue, then did tighter highlights of a bright blue.
Personally I'd do white over the first mid blue zenithal layer and then use a bright blue over that for final highlights to really push the saturation, but if Mavericks Paint did that, they didn't show it.
It's a quick process, and the slowest part is waiting for the paint to dry between zenithal layers like this. May have taken him 20-30 minutes at most, 10 if he used a hair dryer to speed things up, and all he had to do from there was edge highlight and the bulk of his armor was done.

I use an artis opus size 00 usually for the finer details
I feel like every “plastic surgery” the miniatures are actually good

I suck ass at painting, but wish commissioning someone for this type of quality wasn’t so damn expensive. 😅
I get this takes series skill but I’d go bankrupt cause I have a decent sized Astra Militarum/Imperial Guard army and life just got in the way for me to dedicate time to put them together and paint them. And my painting is mid at best. 😅😵💫
Again I don’t mind commissioning as it just makes me feel better. But my wallet would certainly hurt 😵💫💔💰

I can never understand how you can get the paint to look that glossy and caked on. My first figures for the first assault on black reach set. And everyone I paint looks like that. But I got back into warhammer when 9th came out and all my current minis look real nice and how there supposed to look. Idk if i only just started using a wet palet and watering down my paint or the old paint was just shit, maby kids just glob it on idk
Sad you have not take his individual style of Chapter and repaint this! (your Chrimson Fists looks very well) but this Shemata renewed would be more interesting!

I fins a lot of things only take off the paint but leave the primer.
Question: What varnish do you use on your models? It looks a bit like Citadel Munitorum Varnish but I wasnt sure

This is really cool editing, but I do kind of miss the personal stories for the models. I guess if you're being sent a ton of them that might make it hard to let each one have a story, but that was a nice touch on the older ones.

Recently when I strip paint from minis I’ve been using a cheap electric toothbrush. It really cuts down the time for me!

What is the solvent to use to get that paint off of that plastic miniature? And would it work on the figure that has been overly glossed? I have a late friend that left me 100 Terminators and I have not been able to get them stripped for all the tea in China.
