      Can you comment on what type of thinner you used? Close caption says "Animal thinner" does that mean enamel thinner for oil? I assume acrylic thinner wont work for the oil.

    I love this because you are painting coils in reverse of other tutorials. Others treat the top of the coils as the brightest part, whereas you treat it as the dullest part, with the bottom being the light source. It looks amazing.

    • @chrisrezende
      @chrisrezende Рік тому +15

      @@alexthehopeless3778 the confusion is because the rule of thumb of miniature painting has always been using brighter colors on the outside to simulate highlights. However, as you stated, it doensn't make any sense and therefore doesn't work well with energy weapons and other heat effects (such as flames).

    (Old GW paint range)
    For melee weapons, I started with the ice blue and then did wet on wet lightning arcs with the skull white, let it dry and then go over with blue ink for power weapons, purple for psyker force weapons and red for daemon weapons.
    Plasma weapons I started with white, then drybrushed with ice blue on the raised coils and then sparingly use blue ink to get the tinted gloss glow effect.
