Steven Webb, agreed. Burns was incompetent, childish, not very bright, and desperately tried to achieve a higher social status. Winchester came from a socially prominent family, was a highly skilled surgeon, well-read and cultured. He was more egotistical and snobbish than “holier than thou”, which Burns was with all his self-righteousness. Dr. Riverside benefited from nepotism and also lacked serious talent, maturity and depth. Definitely more a Burns type.
