    Richie Sambora is the sole reason I picked up a guitar in the first place and now im a guitar teacher full time thanks to the Sambora legacy. Adore his music, singing, playing, writing, even his personality. Awesome man

      Hair metal was my guilty pleasure at the time.... I was playing in punk bands, so dared not say Poison or Bon Jovi😂 His writing and playing style is pretty iconic and underrated.

      Apparently you haven't seen him lately. Richie is the reason I picked up the guitar as well. They used to call him The King of Swing... Now its The King of Sling cause the shit he's slinging on stage now is just terrible! Hope he wakes up before its too late. Sad how far he's fallen.

    Richie sambora is seriously one of if not the most underrated guitarists in the world. I mean his tone is absolutely killer. I've spent a good month trying to get you give love a bad name down just right, but I just can't play the intro with as much expression and emotion that richie can. He definitely deserves more recognition than he has right now

    It was 1986, I was in junior high and I remember it was one faithful Saturday morning, I was watching one of those music video shows on TV and that's when it happened - the 'livin on a prayer' video was just released that week and hearing that talk-box guitar effect for the very first time was what changed my life forever and made me pick up the guitar and I have never looked back ever since.... I own an original Kramer RS from the late 80's as well as an original Fender Sambora that came out the same time as the Fender Clapton 'Blackie' strat in 1990 which also had the Fender active mid range boost......35 years later, having seen Sambora play live more than a handful of times and finding his playing more and more inspirational each time.... Sambora kicks ass !!

    I'm a huuuuge Eddie VH fan but Richie was actually my first guitar hero after playing to death Slippery When Wet aged 12 when it came out. The solo on Raise Your Hands made me want to be able to do that!!!!.......and no, I still can't!!

    Thank you so much for doing this video! Richie Sambora is my all time favorite guitarist. It’s because of him I love Kramers fenders and superstars in general. I even built a somewhat replica of his iconic Kramer RS because I can’t afford the issue. He is the most underrated guitarist of all time in my opinion!

    Amp-wise he used a simple Marshall DSL 100 for many tours. You can't go wrong with that. And I think he abandoned the chorus completely in the 90s. The talk box he used was a EHX Golden Throat, I think.
    Get a Floyd Rose, humbucker-equipped Strat with single coil in the neck position, a Marshall DSL-Series amp, a Boss SD-1, a decent delay (digital or analog doesn't matter) and you're practically there. If you want a Chorus, get the Boss CE-5 instead and for God's sake, plug it (like the delay) into the FX loop, if your amp has one. For the talk box sound, get one of the Rocktron Banshee.

    Man I love your videos. I must admit though that the whole "H and Z" pronunciations from the UK crack me up. Just not used to hearing them pronounced that way LOL. I am a beginner on guitar and bass ( at 56 ) I was a singer all my life but gave up the stage and decided to go a new route. You have been very integral in my journey thus far. Thank you very much. P.S. I own a Dean Mustain Signature V, Epiphone 60's standard LP, Glarry burning fire (it's great actually LOL) and an Ibanez SR300E Bass. My wife has an Ibanez 335. We love to play and learn.

    My brush with fame. I was playing guitar in a show case band in one of the studio stages at SIR studio in NYC for an artist. My wife, groupie , roadie & manager ( she supports my dream while she manages my reality) was in the lobby by the rental desk when David Bryan the keyboardist from Bon Jovi stopped and asked her who’s that guitarist playing he sounds really good. My wife told him thank you that’s my husband. We got to see their rental receipt for the Marshall amps and everything because they left it on the counter. It was their Have a nice day tour rehearsal that night. Then my wife and I wound up at a Irish bar down the way where the bar tender was a new father and was giving us shots of Paddy’s Irish whiskey. What a night.

    Most of the 2000s Sambora used a JCM 2000 DSL and Silver Klon. In the old days it was a JCM 800 and an SD-1. His final tour with Jovi he was using a Friedman BE and Klon. Phil X used his rig on that tour. the talk box was a framptone

    • @stevenmcdonald4464
      @stevenmcdonald4464 2 роки тому

      He used tonne of amps over the years mate including the dual rectifier think he's using Friedman at the moment

    • @tommcgrath3011
      @tommcgrath3011 2 роки тому

      @@stevenmcdonald4464 Yeah during the 90's and 2000's he played all different amps, diezel, blackstar, fryette, JCM slash, fender tone master etc. most of those amps were only used for a short period of time, a year or so. Main amps over passed 20 years were the JCM 2000 and Friedman BE (past 8 years or so) both with a silver klon. The JCM 2000 makes sense as it was designed by the same engineer that made the JCM 800.

    Hello Brother, I really like your video, you managed to get a sound that is close to or even exactly the same as Richie Sambora's guitar sound. with the settings you made on your effects and amp
    But, can you make another video tutorial, namely how to get a guitar sound similar to Richie Sambora in the song "Always" the first guitar solo part, so there is like a "Rotary Speaker" simulation effect so the sound vibrates and that's really cool, please make a tutorial about that! 🙏🏼

    Bruh, you are filling in for Richie's fingers far more convincingly than Phil X!
    (No shade on Phil - luv the guy! But he's not really even tryna sound like Richie, I don't think. Which part of me really supports , it's what I would WANT to do...ideally, as an original artist.. But..when we go to see Jon Bon Jovi, we are wanting that sound, think pinch harmonics chugging those low strings on Dead or Alive solo. Iconic!

    I prefer a TS9 than an SD1 to boost my Marshall. The Boss is just a little ragged and raw compared with the smoother tube screamer, IMO. But they are close enough that if I only had one on me, I wouldn't be worried by it.

    This is Randy Rhodes said about Eddie Van “ he’s smoking mirrors”
    And I feel Richie Sambora is the same just something cool to look at and listen too
    Please don’t get me wrong. I love Richie and Warren. I love this, but if you categorize him into neurotic rhythm melodic lead
    And booked my book I wouldn’t say he comes close to melodic, but comes very close to lead
    I always wondered who his inspirations were

    Great video as always Dagan. Too bad this is all ancient history for Bon Jovi now.
    Look I love Phil X when he does is own thing but Bon Jovi live tone really sucks these days. I absolutely hate those moments when you're at a gig and your main thought throughout its duration is "gee i wish i could access ths stage and turn the bleeping pedal gain up". This is all Johns fault i feel.
    The band seem far more concerned about not turning off the ladies that attend and delivering some sort country rock performance that nobody wants to see. They should wake up and realise what sold all those albums back in the day...
